    I am so glad I finally found this clip. My father is in it at the 1:08 position of the video! He is the guy with the black glasses and orange shirt! This was back in 1972 when he and my mother brought me to Disneyland when I was a baby. I remember when I was a child my mother used to always tell me to look at my Dad on television, but I was young and never could spot him.

    The not-so-subtle inclusion of Disneyland clips certainly reminded viewers they may wish to visit one of these days. First visited as a teenager in the early eighties and was not disappointed.

    Brings back great memories of growing up with the magical world of Disney. I truly miss those days. I now have 3 of my family members gone since then, I dearly miss them.

      Yes I totally agree with you, I really believe that we were blessed to have experienced those days. I remember this would come on Sunday nights and you always knew it was time for bed soon. Such great memories back then 🤔😁

I always looked forward to the opening of the show where the skyrockets would light up and Tinker Bell would be waving her dusk and then all of those wholesome scenes would pop up!!! If I missed that, but watched the rest of the show,it wouldn't be the same!!! Watching the opening was a big "must"!!!

      Homer Jay, this reminds me of what my dad told me. I asked him if "Disney Channel" came on everyday. He said, "First, it was the Wonderful World of Disney when I was growing up, and it only came on Sunday evenings." He was born 11/28/62.

    Warm sunday late summer night front door back door open crickets chirping to the yard Mom making popcorn step dad on the porch drinking his tea me hurrying to get my shower done so I can stay up late and watch the movie till the end great days back then

    I have many memories of being at my Nanny Stone's along with a few of my cousins watching The Wonderful World Of Disney.They didn't have cable television at the time,so this was on CBC on Sunday evenings around suppertime,and it was always followed by The Muppet Show and The Beachcombers after that.Appointment television sure was the best in that era because we'd all be gathered around the TV set without a word out of any of us.

      The muppets was on Sunday night in the UK too! Always had a picnic tea and jelly and ice cream then s bath ready for school then the muppets! Our childhood was the best.

      Yes, I remember seeing this on CBC in Canada as well, followed by The Muppets & The Beachcombers. For a time through the 1970s, The Irish Rovers Show followed The Beachcombers on the Sunday night lineup too.

      I too remember watching Disney on Sunday nights on CBC back in the 1970s and 1980s. Part of what made watching Disney memorable for me back then was that my dad would order chicken from KFC to pick up and bring home and the family would sit around the TV and eat while watching Disney.

      I know the feeling ! It was a big part of my 60s childhood ! Was broadcast on NBC on Sunday nights for most of its run. Was always fun to watch, but also I & my siblings knew it was back to school the next day....

    Oh wow! Lots of memories here! Of course this show goes back a bit further than this. I remember when it used to be the Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color in the 60s with a great theme song written by the Shermans. Of course Color shows were a big deal back then. This is also what people used to call "appointment viewing". I really miss those days!

    This version was aired on WWOC back in 1979 when it was on WNBC-TV (channel 4) in NYC every Sunday night. But I still have the VHS copy of this with the original opening credits with stop-motion animation by X Atencio. In addition to this film, the sad news is that Maureen O'Hara, the actress who played Maggie in the original 1961 version has died yesterday at 95. She was very terrific and she will be missed. RIP 😥

    The original Parent Trap was just Terrific! Maureen O'hara was so beautiful and Haley Mills playing twin sisters was too much! I remember watching this as a kid on The Wonderful World of Disney" I wish I was watching it now! Oh to be a kid again and oh to be able to watch good clean tv! Thanks for posting!

    Does anyone remember an English presenter on The Wonderful World of Disney in the 70s? His name was Brian Thomas and I had read about him in a British book called Who's Who on Television from 1980, it said he hosted The Wonderful World of Disney for 9 months. He seems to have disappeared after 1980

    This was one of the last voice-overs for the weekly Disney series provided by their long-time announcer, Dick Wesson (he was so despondent over his battle with cancer, he committed suicide in January 1979).

    This opening I do not recall ever seeing. I have one opening on several commercially sold VHS tapes of the WWoD series with the same music but different visuals.

    I remember the movie started without the usual film intro which was kind of nice without just sitting through produced by set designer assistant director technical advisor and etc until the movie started.

    Back then when my sister and I were 3 years old our parents watched Dumbo on NBC. This is the Disney we know and love not the garbage tv programs.

    This was one of my favorite shows right up there with please don't eat the daisies I would settle down and enjoy it to no end the saddest part is when it was over and I adored watching Tinkerbell fly over the castle

    Actually, I did save a copy to disc. That scene in the Disney Intro is the only scene with my Dad in it. He was just in the right place at the right time! I was still an infant, so I don't remember being there.

    @moviesperson100001 :) No, there wouldn't have been. The problem was that the movies ran about two hours and the Sunday night televised version on The Wonderful World of Disney had to play in two parts. This was because the time slot was only an hour long. Since this was before VHS, we would be very upset if we missed one of the parts.

    I need your help, Which hôtel we see kids slidering into the water? I was at the Coranado few weeks ago, I goes to the Comtempory resort but I dont find the fall and slide that we show into this intro. I was maybe 6 yold when I look my first disney during the 80's and since, I want to find this slide. :-)

    I saw an intro with DIFFERENT Clips, from my DVD of "Donald in MathMagic Land," which I got from Disney Movie Rewards with DuckTales The Movie: Treasure of the Lost Lamp. If they knew what they were doing, they could've added more cartoons on there, like Donald and the Wheel, Freewayphobia and its sequel, Goofy's Freeway Troubles, and of course, Scrooge McDuck and Money.

    I have seen the 1998 remake on ABC-13 KTRK (Houston) in 1999 which is rated PG and had Lindsay Lohan. Will The Wonderful World of Disney come back to ABC-13 KTRK (Houston) on Sunday nights?

      The announcer who replaced Dick Wesson was Gary Owens, the voice of Space Ghost and the Blue Falcon from the Hanna-Barbera cartoon series.

    I used to get a kick out of Marlin Perkins. You never saw him doing any of the dirty work. H was either riding in the Jeep or doing paper work. his assintance(SP) used to handle the animals

      Not right. The movie was made in 1961. This aired in 1979. If Haley Mills was 10 in 1961 she would be 68.
