I pray it will be helpful to someone who is going through thesame thing. Especially for us women, we sometimes carry burdens that God has not laid on us.
It’s so interesting cause, if at that time, you had actually gone against the convictions that you had, then it would be sin. It truly is a heart issue. This is a good reminder of how you can mean well in saying something to someone, but you never know where they are coming from and how much they have wrestled with that specific thing before being at the space they are in.
Right!! I’ve also seen it a lot more in women than men, that’s so interesting. Hopefully this helps someone to know they are not alone, and may God help us 🙏🏽
I can relate with what you said about becoming a Christian and becoming too Heavenly minded that I was no earthy good. I had good intentions to preach the gospel and be zealous for Christ. But the delivery was not always good. Keep these videos coming. They are encouraging.

I used to do the same things! Especially not going to church if i felt like i didnt look good enough.
It’s so common for new believers to fall into those mistakes. I find that it’s because of that new awareness we have of sin and we want to get as far away as possible from it.
Wow, most of those things are so relatable to me! Especially the dressing part. My Mom had to have the same conversation with me and I just felt like she didn't understood since she wasn't born again yet. It took me years to be able to embrace the freedom we have in Christ to do a lot of things (like nice hairstyles and fashion) without it being sinful. At the same, time I do think it was a season where the Lord dealt with a lot of my Idols. I feel like I had to let go of those things to learn to love the Lord more than these. Non I am free to live with or without it. God is good!

Oftentimes we take the legalistic approach because that is the only version of Christianity we have been exposed to. I remember in the early days of my faith when someone asked “how I’m doing “. I will automatically say by the Grace of God I’m fine”. Even though I knew I was not doing well at all😅. You know cuz I was raised hearing this from almost every Christian I knew.
Thank you in-law for sharing . These videos are taking me back to those days and to be grateful how far God has brought me.
New born babies in Christ hahah it’s like we’re learning to live all over again but now with an awareness of sin and righteousness. It’s so innocent!

We need to have zeal with wisdom. Bring zealous to share the gospel is not wrong. It’s actually really good to have, it’s literally listening to the great commission but how you do it matters a lot. Pray first for wisdom etc

Do you think you going away from legalism reduced your zealousness?
I don’t believe it should. I think there’s a type of self-righteousness that comes from legalism. I believe that’s what Paul talked about when he said “zeal without knowledge” in Romans 10. It’s almost like you’re so preoccupied by the little aspects of righteousness that the major aspects are just on the back burner or simply unknown altogether. Kinda like the Pharisees that were so focused on the small things that the people would do wrong that it blinded them from seeing that there’s a bigger problem. I believe you can be zealous for the Lord in the right manner and remain integral, without being legalistic.
