Thanks for the review mike!
Very informative review. I've been thinking about a new mic this review helps.
Bro! It's because of this incredible review that I've decided to buy the,2200, and any Mic they got as well as their dynamite pre amp! One day that Rupert Neve tube condenser!! These people truly give you the most for your money and the designs are immaculate🎤🙄
I've been trying to look for a good mic since I live near a busy intersection thanks for these choices in mics.
hi mike, can you tell me how the handling and pop filter is on the se v7? i like this only because the freq range is similar to that of a condenser and could use it for multiple purposes. voiceover, narrating, singing..etc. also as its a supercard is going a tiny bit off axis a huge issue? i know its not as forgiving as a cardioid. i want a dynamic mic for less background noise. also there is so few reviews on this mic, any reason why? cant find anything...thanks in advance!
Which u prefer sennheiser e865 or v7!? Thanks :)
THANK YOU!!!
Se 2200 sounds amaizing and price is excellent
I do not understand what to buy. 2200 or X1s?
Sweet microphones!
Fantastic.
Sounds very nice
As soon as it got to 7:00 I was going to comment, “Trust you Mike to go for the most expensive one.” And then you beat me to it lol
Could you review shotgun microphones?
Nice!
My SE V7 (into a Tascam DR-100 Mk2) sounds really quite different to yours... Not nearly so good. Do you have any idea why this might be? I've tried all sorts of EQing... Are there counterfeits out there?
It's worth to check the serial number with sE. There's no processing on my mic.
Between the sE2200 and Lewitt LCT 440 which one do you prefer? especially for deep voice i guess? but generally which one would one prefer
We use the sE 2200 mics in a studio of ours... And they have used to make some award winning audio content. The grill pop filter is OK.. but be careful if you get near it with clothing the edges aren't sealed and it likes to grab cloth...
And the mount supplied for the mic is plastic, I'd expected metal for the price... My worry is after a bit of wear and tear use they will break... Although we've had them for about 2 years... (touch wood!)
I already have the SE 2200 for recording and I am completely satisfied with it. I’m now considering the V7 for live singing. Deciding between the V7 and the Senheiser E935 or E945
Good choice to make. I really enjoyed using the V7. Really clear and crisp. A great dynamic mic.
I use a 2200A I’m not sure what the A means? I’m impressed with the v7 , never heard one before , thanks for the review
What is the difference between the SE2200/2300(pluripolar) and SE 4100/4400(pluripolar)? I know that the 4000 series is transformerless, but soundwise, is it a big difference? Which one do you like more?
The sE Electronics SE2200/2300 and SE4100/4400 models differ primarily in their polar patterns, with the former featuring a cardioid pattern while the latter offers multiple polar patterns; the sound difference between the two primarily lies in the versatility of the multi-pattern models, but personal preference ultimately dictates which one suits your needs best.
I expected a comparison between the 2000 and the 4000 series as sound-for the same polar pattern.
The X1s sounds pretty good on your voice. I feel like it's a bit nasally and is missing a presence peak, but it worked well on you.
We all have different voices and all mics have slightly different frequency boosts so some mics will sound better with some people.
Nice mics :-)
I can hear the difference between the mics on my ipad speakers. That’s how well you recorded this video.
I'm thrilled to hear that the mic reviews in my video have helped you discern the differences between the sE Electronics models, even on your iPad speakers.
how the F did you do to actually delete all the background noise? Thank you ;)
what affordable interface do you recommend with the v7? and should i get the dynamite preamp ?
I've used a Focusrite Scarlet 2i2 for years now and I would say it's a great bit of kit
Hello Sir, I want to record my written poetry professionally. Suggest me a good audio interface and microphone. But my room is not sound proof. The sound from outside comes inside our room. My total budget is $350. Which mic will be good for me dynamic and condenser? I want professional quality sound, crisp and clear voice.
There are videos on the channel reviewing microphones within your budget. I would however suggest allocated some of your budget to sound treatment if you’re looking to record professionally.
The X1A and X1S are amazing for the price, sure the 2200 sounds the best, but after you get everything else you need your looking at spending over $500. I have a X1A and a X1S on the way.
They're actually pretty amazing mics. I got em too 🔥 🔥 I must say I'm impressed by the sE2200. I'm definitely ordering it.
i'm using the sE200 Condenser Microphone. its been over a year now, i'm very happy with it. Also think that time to get another Mic in upper level from sE Electronic
Iv got the se2200 and it's amazing ill say similar to the ones that coast 3k
The V7 is great for using live (backings) and with a voice processor even better !
if some of you are looking to buy the SE 2200 buy with the arturia interface the sound is just amazing and much more quiet then the scarlet ( I've both ) a lot of people say the lewit 440 sound much better but that not actually very true..you will have to work the some frequencies much more.. and if you have a very dynamic voice the mic will sound in the mix a litte less real.
Cool is microphones

there are alot less exstention in the highs on the se v3 you can really hear it when listening to the se2200. her you have alot more "openes" or the highs are more prssent and it has much " cleaner" sound becuase you hear more of the high end. also the v3 sounds more "broadcasting like" with a very pressent mid and low end that makes it great for spoken words but i dont think it's the best for singing. but it could work with some eq since its still a great sounding mic but, prefer the sound of 2200 since it has a more open and detailed high end that makes it great for singing
Thank you for sharing your detailed comparison between the sE V3 and the sE2200! It's great to hear your insights on how each microphone excels in different areas.
I love sE Electronics x1 , x1 a , magneto , sE 2200
woah! X1s sounds smoother but 2200 has more clarity. I should have seen this before buying. Just ordered the SE2200 despite of some negative reviews.
omg :(( never unplug a mic while it's still on. Mute the track first and then unplug it. It will damage your speakers/headphones.
Yeah the sE2200 sounds really good on your voice here! I really liked the V7 but as I've heard from others it seems to be way to sensitive to plosives... and that is not really acceptable for a stage mic...
V7 has an inbuilt windshield so shouldn't be that bad at all. It wasn't when I tested.
@@MikeRussell But it does in this video! Not horribly but definitely to much for a mic that should have a built in pop filter
Seriously, the V7 has gained quite a great reputation as a stage mic. I do understand what you mean, re: the plosives. I've noticed them too. But in truth, plosives are also about mic technique. And I'm not referring to "speaking across the mic" but to something totally overlooked by many: you can say a P sound while blasting air, OR you can say the same P-word WITHOUT simultaneously blasting air. People think they need to blow birthday cake lights whenever they say the word "pizza" - but no candles need to go out for that 😀 (horrible explanation, but it's late night here, so my brain is tired:)
@@Tazmanian_Ninja haha very true! yeah it definitely is about the singer as well but mostly I just want something idiot proof :D. These plosives might not be to bad though as long as I have a hi-pass/basscut but just feel like they could have made it a bit more resilient.
@@Freogeteknet I agree. And it's hard to make people you're recording etc use better mic technique. Last week I tried during a session, and it wasn't that well received. He just wanted me to use the double-layer pop-filter PLUS til foam windshield - as we always do 😅 He's a successful rapper, has done tons of live shows, and his projection is just quite strong, and the way it is.
So yeah: I see what you mean:)
you can throw off voice recordings sE x1 waw?
I'm unclear as to what you need, could you explain a little further. Thanks!
@@MikeRussell I ask you for a voice track recorded for se x1S in waw format
I can definitely tell the difference between the sub $100 mics and the others.
Very handy, it is always a good thing to see videos like this one for a fair approach and decision. Thank you Mike
