Radiator pipework and soldering copper pipes

- Asmr plumbing video on me installing a radiator on some fresh copper pipes!
I love using these pipe clips from Ecoclip as I can have my own custom pipework spacing to suit me! They keep the pipe off the wall nicely and allow to open and close the clips.
Easiest way to hang a radiator is work out the height of skirting boards. Come up an inch I always do then work out a distance that you want the valves to be above the pipework. Measure from the bottom of radiator up on the mark to the top of the bracket and you’re good to go!
Soldering these copper pipes in 90 deg fittings to keep everything looking uniform is pleasing to the eye.

We all got our own ways! Lots of different ways to hang a rad!
That pipe through the wall is full of dirt which could damage the boiler.
Tape the end before you push it through.

Hi i just want to thanks you from 🇫🇷 because you are one of the rare plumber able to show a quick efficient productivity skill, amazing tools with a really estetic and operational results. i have 2 two observations regarding what i learned that :
1- radiatiors must be feed horizontally to increase the surface of exchange in order to get the maximum heat from the radiator. exept larger radiator than higher and high hand design radiator with different internal feeding.
2- you use i guess for practical and efficient reason industrial connector ( time and so monaie saving and effort) that increase hydraulic resistance. would you show us a classic copper pipe jump and a chipping on pipe that readuce at least in my mind connections and hydrolique resistance ? thanks and your content is amazingly satisfying

1. What compound did you use & how come not white boss?
2. Is the orange stuff liquid PTFE?
3. How come you soldered instead of using the Novopress. Should you not use it for central heating systems?
Not a criticism, more of a curious question… why do you cut ‘the middle bit’ out when fitting the tee - surely you’d cut once then just slide along?

Great work but unnecessary with the lasers imo. Get those brackets measured and hung in minutes without it but you know what, it works so who am I to say otherwise. Nice work!

Abit of emery cloth to smooth up those rough edges from the powder coating on them rad unions before you wind in them bleed valves could stop any risk of you cutting into them orings. Just a small tip

Excellent work make it simple ,can I ask does that Wera Joker do 15 & 22mm nuts on fittings.
They adjust to different sizes and each spanner in the ranges only does specific size which are printed on side of spanner
The xl does 15mm the xxl does 15 and 22 👊

Please tape up pipes before running them in masonry walls 🧱. No debris flying around the central heating. Did you blow or vacuum pipes?
All that craps just gone down your copper pipe when you shoved it through the wall. Shove a stop end it or a bit of tape .

Just wondering, did they ever import “Yorkshire” brand copper plumbing fittings into the US?
Yorkshire fittings had a ring of soft solder incorporated into the fitting’s socket end.
You’d just hear the copper tube (not the fitting) and the solder would melt and form a nice joint.
No additional solder was required. These fittings were available in Australia in the late 70’s and 80’s but I haven’t seen them around for a long time.
I used them with great success.
I used to always fit Yorkshire fittings they are the best in my opinion
In Australia we still use “Yorksil” fittings which can either be silver brazed or soft soldered.
These days I have to ask for “capillary” elbows or tee pieces as most of the young counter staff are too young to know what Yorkshire fittings are.
Keep the videos coming as I find it interesting the differences between how plumbing work is done in the US as compared to here in Australia.

Yikes I think you may have forgot to flux the short piece on the horizontal. Regardless great video Im always picking up information as well as the assortment of tools the you use. Today one of those things was the tech screwdriver looking thing that was a pencil!
Not criticising but 2 questions
Why use a trowel and not a heat mat as surly the heat transfer through the trowel can damage the walls
And why have the pipes spaced that far apart
Great install tho nice to see a plumber clean his install
What’s wrong with the trowel? It still does the job tbf, I don’t see how it can be damaging if all the heat is being absorbed on the plate
@@louis_1up398 the heat transfer through the metal if that’s on a surface that can be damaged it will damage it a heat mat won’t

@@mickgascoigne4003 yeah, I found it quite cool tbf, I mean. There’s also this metal attachment you can get that you put on the heat gun and it intakes all the heat it’s like a circular attachment and it’s 10/10. Used with rotherberger

Cracking vid that buddy, I've been doing this for a while but love the trowel as heat reflector, majes soldering a breeze. Could I just ask what the threadlock liquid is that you use please and the abrasive cloth for cleaning? . Keep up the great work. Rob
Thanks rob! It’s loctite 577 for the liquid, 55 for the thread and today’s tools cleaning pads for cleaning! Not used wire wool in years! Appreciate you watching mate 👊

@@mmplumber I was going to ask about this as well because it's something I don't see many plumbers doing but the air conditioning guys always seem to do it.
One thing I've noticed is that the automatic cutters leave a much larger burr than the manual ones - A burr so bad it takes forever to remove. I've found that the Javac Edge Mini Tube Cutter (JAV-1010) works much better for this - It still has a spring so you manually set it to the "hard" copper setting and then just spin it like an automatic cutter. I've found that it leaves a fraction of the burr that you'd normally expect. I'm just an amateur so I can't say how well it would hold up to regular use, mind.

Cleaning strips. Heavy duty ones that u rub on the pipe does the job.

As a professional plumber I'd recover this. Pipe work is too high up and too far apart. Not even the correct way to measure the radiator distance for the brackets. I will to bet load of mistakes where made but not shown in this video.
He seems pretty competent to me and there are many ways to measure up a rad before hanging. As long as they’re level and not too close to the floor, it’s a success.
No mistakes mate, they are having high skirting and wanted the pipes above 1inch. 35mm center distances allows it to be so easy to work and cut the copper. For too long talons are used and they are horrible for a engineer prospective

As a "professional" plumber , how far apart would you like the pipe to be ? Back in the day i would use the width of my spirit level as a guide and that way it would keep everything consistent.
