I only contributed some small textural roles to this track, but I'm mainly sharing this on my channel in the hope that Ollie gets some more exposure out of it! It was a pleasure helping to thicken this track out in some small way :)
My parts were recorded on a Buffet Festival Clarinet, Vandoren B40 mouthpiece, BG L4SR ligature, and a Vandoren V12 Strength 3.5 reed.

Incredible! For me the original Suikoden is still the best in the series even better than the second one. And mostly because of the unparallelled soundtrack which is still top five in video game history.
I actually used Village of the Hidden rune as the music selection for a figure skating program back in the day

This is a very good cover--the low amount of views can only have to do with Suikoden's relative obscurity outside of Japan compared to Squaresoft games, etc. I have fond memories of this game, played through it extensively.

+Soundole VGM Covers Oh well, it's still less obscure than the Shin Megami Tensei/Persona series. I played 1 and 2 intensively, but strangely enough, it seems that 3 and 4 were a bigger hit outside of Japan (but I was no longer really playing video games by then). Maybe I should do some covers of some of those tracks one day..

That would be a question for Banjo Guy Ollie - as far as I know, he has specialised in a wide range of folk instruments for a very long time, unrelated to just this video.

In this particular case, no, I wasn't (I'm the clarinettist here) but Ollie might have been. It's pretty standard to lipsync to multitracked videos; do you think people are actually recording the noises they make in music videos?
(Not to detract from Ollie's work, I think he does a lot of stuff with video\audio takes at the same time. I practically never do; this was an early exception.)
