- Hey everyone this video tutorial explains where a very common water leak comes form in the Hummer H2 models which soaks the carpet down by your feet and how to fix it for under 15 dollars! It also causes the AC Fan Motor to get ruined so if you catch it soon enough you can save yourself some money there. This process is also the same steps to get to to the windshield wiper motor if you ever needed to replace that as well. Follow along and feel free to ask questions if something didn't make sense to you!

This video saved me! No mechanic could figure out the problem. Charged me over $2K parts & labor, yet problem persisted. Thanks! This solved my issue
Man you save my life with this video!! I have been trouble shooting why water was coming in on my floor for 4 years lol I am so thankful for your video! Great job buddy!
Just finished the repair and the gasket around the cover had all but crumbled away. It was clearly the cause of my water on the passenger side floor board. You have save me a lot of aggravation! Great tutorial… Thx a ton!
Awesome glad it helped!
Like many others I’ve been chasing this water ghost for years. Thanks for the straightforward no nonsense video, I know what I’m doing this Saturday afternoon! 👏👍😄
Glad it helped!
Can this happen on a H3
You did an absolutely amazing job and I'm ready to fix my water leak thank you
nice video I was convinced the leak was though the body seal around front pass. door. or those stupid roof lights. I covered the lights w/ silicon an redid the door seal still leaking. was planing to duck tape the sun roof. now I'll take your advice an tape that area.thanks for sharing
This was my last water intrusion issue I had on my H2, removed the old gasket, cleaned and degreased area around plastic cover, instead of using tape I applied a nice bead of water resistant silicone around the outer lip, installed the cover while pressing it into place allowing the sealant to ooze out around the edges, and added an additional bead. Just an alternative. 😎👍
Honestly that's probably a better idea, as when this tape does wear out it's going to be a mess to remove.
that water broke the electric blower of my Hummer Air condition system and cost me lots of money.... thank you for this video.- cheers from Cancun Mexico....
Thank you for the info. Fixed my issue even after I replaces the roof light gaskets with silicone and windshield. I was baffled until I watched your video.
Awesome glad it helped!
I paused my DnD Info video to comewatch your vid. I no longer drive but I do tinker and this taught me a couple things. Did not know they were called *Friction Clips* and that I could epoxy in a new way in the workshop. Thanks Mikey.
Man.. H2s are beauties.
I haven't had this leak YET on my '07, but I'm sure it's coming... Thanks for the great, detailed video. Most guys just say to remove parts, but you went to the extent on specifying HOW TO remove them with care to prevent breaks. Thanks again! I'm now a subscriber. 😎
Thank you!
Front column roof leaks can be caused by the seam seal by the roof rack rails caulking cracking near the far right and left running lights. I used flex seal to water proof that. There is caulking that runs the length of the roof on both sides, check for cracking.
I just bought a 05 and noticed head liner on both sides gets damp. I bought new seals for the lights. Did you remove the old seal by roof racks or did you just silicone over it?
@@coopcooper8228 You can silicone over it with marine seal or flex seal
Bottom piece should have gone on first , physics , common Mikey ! 🤨😁 the flex tape of course
Ya I though about that after too. Ugh. It’s sealed regardless so oh well. Lol
HUMMER AASIF LIKED THIS VIDEO💪💪
Appreciate you
Been trying to figure out my leak issues for days now
This is such a great video, same thing with my AC, thanks alot
I used the RV roof tape on my H2's sunroof after multiple attempts to fix it by other methods - No more leaks...!!!!! Will be doing this again on this leaking area.
Just fixed my Hummer leak! Thanks so much for the video and knowledge.
You should do a video on how to get the filter out. :)
Very helpful. Really Appreciate you pointing out your mistakes so we don’t have to learn the hard way.
Thank you.
Thank you so much I’m going to help my step dad out to fix his and use this video!
So satisfying seeing that clean under there. That would drive me nuts!
04 H2 here and yes we all have the same problem even a few months after this trucks were out of the lot back in the days
Geez that’s pretty bad.
First step to repairing your 2003 hummer....
Sell it.
Or scrap it?
Haha great videos man!
Come on now. It’s a fuuuuun truck to drive. Lol.
It’s got an LS.
Great video with a lot of valuable information. I appreciate it very much! My only issue is trying to hear you over the music. I'm not a fan of extra noise, though, so it may just be me. I really do appreciate the info. You've armed me with all I need to know to repair my 2004 H2 that I refuse to get rid of regardless of the strong recommendation to do so by my 3 adult children & my husband. We all love it but they think it's no longer cost effective to keep fixing it. I disagree. It's my baby & has been since 2007 (13 years this August!) - that's longer than I've ever owned any vehicle! Nothing else will feel like a good fit, I'm afraid. Thanks for helping me keep her alive!
Awesome! I’m glad it helped. Sorry about the music. It’s been a trial and error process. I think I have it dialed in these days. lol
@@MikeyMoVlogs So what do you think about GMC resurrecting the Hummer as an electric truck? I about flipped when I heard they were going to be making the Hummer again but I hope they don't just leave it at trucks & build an actual SUV. A Hummer SUV. And if they do, I also hope GMC ups their game (or has upped their game since I haven't checked them out in awhile) on their interior workmanship. I always hated those aspects of my H2 - the cheap dials, buttons, etc.
It will be interesting to see. I looked at a few of the concept drawings and wasn’t very impressed. It looked to futuristic to me and not enough meaty truck, which I just kinda feel like a hummer should be. I mean it’s a HUMMER. lol
@@MikeyMoVlogs You nailed it! "Meaty" is exactly what a Hummer H2 is and should always be. I don't have much in the way of expectations, to be honest. I think I just got excited at the thought of Hummers being in production again but the reality is that it is very unlikely anyone will ever make what we know & love as "Hummers" ever again. That makes me so sad, honestly.
@@MikeyMoVlogs Also - just thought I would let you know that thanks to your video, I was able to remove everything in order to access the area that needed to be sealed again and you were right. It was just allowing water to pour in for so long now. I had to replace my AC fan twice as well as the relay and couldn't figure out why I was having such an issue with it. I even replaced the AC control module, too. And I contributed my floorboard getting wet every time it rained to an old door gasket/molding. Resealing those 2 spots has solved both problems and I appreciate that more than you know! THANK YOU!!! (And I didn't cuss nearly as much as I thought I would getting that big piece off without breaking anything! - lol)
Didnt know you were a backyard mechanic too! Love it!
I do it ALL! lol 😂
You should have placed bottom piece of tape first so that top piece overlaps the seam. This way water cannot wick under the bottom piece.
Ya i realized that later. :(
Hey mike I’m collecting police patches and I would like to thank your department for giving me one for my collection I appreciate it very much.
Awesome! I’ll pass the message along!
I drove one of these at my old job once and in five min I hated the thing they are so hard to see out of. Great informative video dude. Hope all is well with the family as well
Really? I love it the thing. Lol. You get used to it. Haha. Thanks for the well wishes.
@@MikeyMoVlogs I couldn't stand the tiny windows
Only the SUV is harder to see out of. The pickups are easier to see out of.
Thanks. This is on my to do list.
remember, man wigle rattle and always but always press up to remove ANY interior or exterior plastic parts. the lil clips are all the same maybe diferent sizes..lol
Thanks so much for the video!!! I wish we could've gotten a good look at the sunroof drain- which I believe ends up down there as well? Thanks!
I didn’t even have a leak there but i think you may have just fixed other problems i was having AC is broken and making a lot of noise down in the passanger side too when with the rpm sounds like a turbo but its from down there
Thank you this was very helpful. I been trying to figure out for a year were the water was coming from after repairing the roof
Ill be doing this too! My radio has gone crazy with speakers not working so that all i get is high pitched audio which hurts my ears. Almost positive it is from water getting on wire connections or the radio. Of course i have water getting on carpets too.
Nice video. Thanks. I just bought an 03 off the lot from a local Chevy dealer. Very well kept from an older couple that used it to drop their boat in the water. Always wanted one and was stoked to get it. Soon as I got it home was when I first noticed water on driver and passenger floor like yours. After watching your video I called the dealership and I think their gonna fix it for free. They even gave me a loaner car. I hope they find and fix the issue. I am anxious to add some chrome accessories to the exterior and fix it up a little. Hummers are sweet man! Did you see the HX concept? Hope Hummer comes back some day.
Thank you! Saves me a lot of time and frustration!
Nice ride brother well done indeed.🏆🎗️
Thank you!
Tyvm for this video same as well for my hummer h2 water issue
Excellent video, we can save money
Thanks for the video. Mine is getting water on my driver side, wonder if this would resolve my problem considering that panel getting sealed up is on the pass. side. I will be trying this real soon as well as replacing the roof light seals.
That’s usually the roof lights. I’d do those first since they’re easy and see what happens.
@@MikeyMoVlogs Yeah, gonna start there as that is the easiest. I have new light seals but have a good feeling the rubber grommet for the wires is not sealing well. Thanks for the quick reply.
New type of video, and still as great as the last!!!
Something similar happens on the H3 but it is the radio antenna, water was wicking down the antenna wire and soaking the carpet on the passenger side. I removed the radio antenna and sealed the mount with silicone, problem solved.
Awesome video !!! Very helpful . Thank you sir !
I hope it works. I got mine apart right now. Going to do the lights, sunroof drain tube and your seal job on that panel. I fished a rat nest out of the fender drain. Most of my leaks were driver side but the headliner was dripping too.👍🖖
Ya the headliner is definitely the roof lights. That happened to me too!
I would rather delete the sunroof.
Thank you, i have done many things but this. Great video!!!!!!🙏🙏🙏
Thanks! Very helpful...
Flex spray works good on clearance light leaks too.
helped me sooooooooooooo much thank u
Awesome very happy to hear!
Bro o just heard about u last night and I love ur channel!!!!!!
Holly crap I thought I was the only one lol
H2 O 👈🏼🤪 Thanks I didn’t know WTF !! Thanks A Million!! 👽🚀🛸
This is exactly what is occurring with mine. Question. Did it work ?
Yes
Thanks for this... think i have the same issue
Great video! No mechanic apparently looks at these. My only comment is lose the background music. Not needed.
Just got an H2, mine's leaking there. I read there was a recall on the wiper motor because water could get in, stop the wiper motor and cause a crash. My wiper motor works but is really noisy. I checked recalls and there are none out for mine. Maybe only certain years.
I like your step by step explanation and all the smart suggestions and recommendations, but the background music while you are talking is super annoying. It's nice in the intro and maybe again as you are ending the video .. but while you are talking it's distracting and at one point when it was just music, the volume raised blaring music. You were great though.
Yes I’m sorry. That was an earlier video for me so I was still learning how to edit properly. I appreciate the feedback. 👍🏻
next time do bottom piece of tape first, that way the water flows over the lip instead of into it.
I know. :( I thought about that afterwards. Figures. Lol
Nice video thanks buddy.
Great video
Ok I'm back. I checked my passenger side carpet today and it's wet. It's just the floor. It doesn't seem like it ran down from the blower area. Could it be coming from around the door to the floor because I did silicon unless I missed a spot.
Any more suggestions????
The only known issues are the overhead lights in the roof and the plastic door I show in the video. Typically if it’s the lights you will see water damage or dampness in your headliner if it’s the carpet under there the only thing I’ve ever known it to be is that plastic door that I fix in the video. When it rains water pours directly down that area so if anything is getting by then it’s going straight to the carpet there
Thanks Man! I just fixed my 2005 H2 SUT! what about the water on the drivers side? will this fix resolve that issue too? I thought it was the roof marker lights or sunroof for the longest.
If it’s driver side it usually is the marker lights. This video is mainly/usually if it’s the passenger side carpet being soaked.
The water is coming in on the driver's side of mine. It is getting the carpet wet under the floor mats on the driver's side and in the back seat under the floor mat. The passenger side front and back is dry. It happens when it rains and when I go to the car wash especially when I get the underbody wash done.
Grrr'rate vid...brother. H2 4life!
Now your carpets need shampoo, and a dehumidifier for the interior. You'll be back to normal. 👍 leaving it wet is not healthy and you and your family can get sick. Be safe brother. ✌
Can you show a viseo on how you pressure washed your engine?
Unfortunately no. I didn’t video any of it and have since sold the truck.
thanks.- was perfect!!!!
Yes father I love it 😋😋
Where is the ac drain line so I can check to see if this may be part of the problem? My H2 leaks like a sieve! Already fixed the roof lights and sunroof tubes.
I’m actually not sure. My buddy had checked that who is a mechanic when it was in his shop. I’d bet money it’s the same issues as my video shows. It’s a direct chute right down in to the truck.
damn im wore the fuck out, 4 hrs i accomplished, sealing up the roof top corner lights, never leak again, i also did this video of tearing off the big long white yea that thing, did the seal there and i put a rear door window regulator replacement, and the ac blower fan motor all done today, by my self..lol and everything works just like fucking brand spankin new man.. that my friends is what every hummer owner needs to do to their hummer h2.. their all built the same fashion, and the Vidoes out here you caint go wrong, to al you hummer youtubers, i thank you all..yes every damn one of yus..lol stay kool and dry my hummer friends ....... rock onnnnnnnnnnnnn
the blower regulator / resistor , i done redid that 3 months ago..lol spent 600 on new belts n ac compressor, in all good now..lol or should be anyways damn..lol
Omg thanks ... I've done all of the above roof lights, door trim.... I believe this will stop it. Do you have any videos on changing the lock actuator??? my rear passenger is sticking and needs to be replaced. I don't know what else to do. I sprayed it with silicone and it worked a couple of times but not consistently. And the screws are hard to get out.
No but funny you should say that because mine just started doing that too!! lol
@@MikeyMoVlogs well I ordered one from Amazon yesterday.... but I'm having a hard time getting the two screws loose inside the door jam. They won't budge. Maybe by the time it arrives I will have them loosened.
I'm still watching your vids.Btw what gun do you have if you are on patrol?
Smith and Wesson M&P .40
Did anyone do this because I did and am still having the same problem… think it might be leaking from the roof down the door gasket into the floor
Did you check the roof running lights? That’s the only other place I’ve seen leaks that go all the way down to the carpet.
Can you saw your cop car in half and fix with flex tape😂😂😂😂 or old cop car
Lol. Only one way to find out
Did you get any more leaks or that stopped ?
I owned it for another two years after that video and no leaks. I’ve sold it since then but I’d assume it’s still holding up. That rubber stuff was thick.
Should definitely sell it. They’re holding nice value as of rn
Ya most likely am as soon as I sell the boat. I need it to tow it.
Guys! The lights on top of the roof was the other cause of leak! Please check that as well before doing this process
Hey Where is the Wiper Motor Replacement portion of the video?
There isn’t a “replacement of it” but the process to get to it is the same. You have to take all the same stuff off to get to it. Once it’s opened up the wiper motor is right there. Should be pretty self explanatory once you’re in there.
Did that solve the problem?
Yes. No more issues.
@@MikeyMoVlogs sweet. I'm going to work on that. Thank you
Nice video do you plan to repair or replace the carpet?
It’s all pulled up and being dried. It didn’t really damage it.
So did it fix the leakage
Yes completely.
@@MikeyMoVlogs thanks for quick reply I did the same repair about a year ago but haven't had it out in the rain yet, so don't know if it worked. also did roof lights but that didn't work. still need to do the sun roof drain just to be on safe side. Thanks, hope that fix worked on mine.
Flex tape hasn't been too great for me. Used it to fix pipes in our basement due to water leaks, and it still leaks a bit. Not as bad tho, but still enough to get the floor wet.
Maybe I just have bad luck with everything, but you might have little to no problems with leakage on your vehicle. That tape does "work", but with just a bit of pressure against it, it will leak regardless how well you apply it...
Great video nonetheless :)
Ya there’s no pressure involved here. I don’t think I’d trust it enough for that. Lol.
Well, if you go to use it against something that puts out pressure, don't...
It will not work.
I also noticed your channel growth, and holy.. Almost 50k!!! You'll 100% hit 100k before 2020. Pfft, I'll even say before July.
Ibthink im going to use silicone and flex tape lol
Can this happen on a H-3 06 model
Not sure
@@MikeyMoVlogs thanks
Hey brother can you do mines an how much u charge
HAHAHA, I liked watching because I own an RV...seems about the same except I have a toilet in my tank.
Not enough Hummer recalls
Hey
Nice thumbnail
U need to do some landscaping work 😉
Put off-road wheels and tires on the hummer
The Hummer H1 is the only respectable one... lol. Check that, only AM General’s actual HMMWVs. haha
Ronan Barthon The H3 is the one to avoid unless it’s got a V8.
You've got a hummer and a jeep?
Yep
@@MikeyMoVlogs didn't know you were a hog farmer 😂 thats a big gas bill
Nah. I barely drive either one of them I only use the hummer for towing the boat because of its size. My next car is going to be a Tesla anyway so I’ll make up for it LOL
you drive a hummer just lost a lot of respect for you LOL 😂 JK
Don’t be jelly...😂🤣
You do know you dont "pat" mold eh right???????????????????????????????????
Huh??
Not an H2!! Just get a Jeep man lol
I’ve got one of those too. Didn’t you see it in the background?
@@MikeyMoVlogs I did now 🤣.
I really only use the H2 for towing and a few road trips. It’s just such a beast it’s safe for the fam.
I have both and love both as well lol.
Ur terminology is killing me smalls. And the rest of us auto techs are cringing when u said pressure washer to engine bay. Star screws are known as torx screws. Friction tabs are plastic retainer pins. Water could also be getting in from ac evap drain pain, so ck whats referred to as the condensate drain. May need to blow that out carefully with some compressed air. Have a good one
The real sad part is I actually know all of that terminology but for some reason I get super tongue-tied as soon as I am in front of the camera :-( and I already checked the AC line that you mentioned that panel was definitely the source of the water.
Its the same on my van brother. Thats why i mentioned it
FR, those screws are called torx screws, and buy an auto trim pry bar set, nothing like using the rights tools for the job!
Nice but annoying music
Sell it, sell it.
Why
this aged well lol... hummer is worth more now
Ya no kidding. I went to buy another one and they were ridiculously priced AND half of them were in rough shape. I ended up buying a truck.
