That was a sad moment in time in Law Enforcement history. About the same time a few law enforcement agencies in California likewise merged. I was part of a merger myself though with another department in 2012. I know sadly the feeling. It's never the same again.
I mean, I could almost understand a separate police force for buses and trains, but a housing police force? The US has far, far too many different law enforcement agencies as it is.
@@nkt1 There sadly is a lot of crime within the many housing projects across America. Nothing meant personally against the residents or tenants either. Speaking with many a former Housing Officer, crimes committed within the housing projects more so a result of outsiders using the overall building design of the complexes & grounds to their advantage. In some cases too holding many of the tenants as much hostages threatening them with bodily harm should they complain or be reported to authorities. Many specialized agencies as well are created to lighten the burden from many municipal police & sheriff's departments saddled with their busy workload.

It’s a shame the merger went through. I wonder how many officers got screwed over. 😞
