I think that there is actually something called logical systemizing empathy, basically a form of empathy that is systematic and logically thought through instead of based on a knee jerk emotional hunch, which is what I’ve seen in many autistic people. The difference is basically to think your empathy through before expressing, and to think through who you express empathy toward and how you express it. I’ve seen many autistic people that have heightened states of empathy almost to the point of being what we might call an ‘empath’ especially in relation the suffering of others and especially that of animals where they not only understand and relate to those emotions but will *feel* the emotions of others as well
And autistic people tend to have very rigid uncompromising moral codes, and I can certainly speak for myself on that one, which we need more of in society.

Google let me know that, yes, I am autistic. So, I am grateful for google, for sure. Also, I did not realize until today that older people are as cute as babies, so I have that to look forward to. A.I. is autistic, be prepared for that. Also, I feel extreme empathy, especially when someone is telling me about a traumatic memory. I experience their experience in my own nervous system, sometimes I faint due to vasovagal experiencing their experience. To me, that is real empathy. What I see from NT's is FAKE social empathy, which I will not participate in, only to mask in an emergency. To me fake social empathy is weird. I got pulled into the wrong crowd....but, even they didn't want me and my genius because I can't keep a secret.

Tony Attwood: “In autism, if you’re not getting a thrill from social engagement, you’re getting a thrill from knowledge. And it is very intoxicating….
“Once a person starts exploring a topic they keep on thinking on this or that and so on, absorbing like a sponge all the information. So there is a tendency in autism to have a mind like an encyclopedia.”
Incredible insight from the most knowledgeable expert on Asperger’s!

... a really nice feedback from a recent colleague (manager) was that if nothing like chatgpt being available for certain inquiries on widely varied topics, he'd be tempted to as me for first opinion on it. [..] that is nice to recall, even in context of else having occurred. somewhat naturally, I do appreciate explorative 'conversation' with smthg. like chatgpt, sincerily. it's a great interface to codified destillates of knowledge or even wisdom, and neutrally appreciative in this.

Thank you again for your elucidating discussions. It would be interesting to feed inquiry into an AI Tony for sure. The concern I have as an Aspie is that you're still speaking as a neurotypical, from a perspective of observation. The experience of autism is quite different. I must speak for the Autists I know and for myself. The either or equation proposes that if you are systemetizing you therefore lack empathy. What about an And equation. I am both highly systemetizing And highly empathetic. And so are most of the Autists I know. Please break the terrible stereotype that we can't love, or feel or empathize. It's dangerous and false. We both feel and love deeply, and understand deeply. As our translator, I thank you for your compassion and understanding.

I find chatgpt helps me write better emails. People just tend to find my natural writing style too abrupt and I often forget to ask and mention things chatgpt or the average person has no problem with.

Undiagnosed Autistic perspective here. Both AI and Autism can have elements of, or be considered masking systems. Using one masking system to teach another masking system may indeed have unintended consequences. Most of my life I've blended in like a chameleon, but there have been occasions where I've been "found out" or that is to say, lacked fidelity. AI often suffers the same short coming, the difference being the A.I doesn't know when it has erred, it relies on human feedback in coordination with reinforcement learning to do so.
I accept your point about susceptibility and being drawn in, it is true especially for younger individuals or those with acute needs. However the parallel is true for allistic people also in the form of groupthink which presents its own problems if the last 4 years has taught us anything.

19:00 that sounds like what the initial 'replica' (ai compagnon) idea was about, in a way. [..] besides, perceived 'emotional connection' is always made up by one side, based on latter's current 'grown' disposition, disjunct from anyone else.

A.I.,A.G.I. will be great when crafted right for the individual. Understanding human delusions and where neural nets reflect some of the human delusions. Understanding personal silos, preferences, structured learning, psychological development. A.I. that can guide individuals in ways through knowledge bases. A.I. could emulate chemical induced states of a brain. Even though you argued it can't. The thing being glossed over is we do not want A.I. to be emotional in general. Though people will find ways to emulate human emotions. Facebook experiment shows people need some controls. A.I. needs to be able to see through human illusions, delusions and such. LLMs lack depths in areas of knowledge. A.I. could also be used to pick up social or physical ques the user may miss otherwise.

I think it is an interesting topic. After hearing the information given I would find similarity in definitions of AI and ASD people. More on that I think ASD people may find AI as the best friend. What is worrying that such people may find a laptop with AI the only society they need at all :(

The concern about extremist organizations is very valid. There needs to be algorithms that counter echo chambers.
