      How do you feel about the Interfit honey badger lights, like the 320W or the Unleashed 250W? The unleashed seem real similar to the godox lights. They do TTL and HSS and are battery powered. They seem to be cheaper than godox. They usually come in a kit with two lights, two softboxes and 2 light stands for around $699

    Man...I appreciate your videos so much. I have watched them for years now and hope you continue making them. I was VERY surprised you didn't use an ND filter for this...looking at the SOOC shots, I would've thought you did since in my head AD300 isn't supposed to be powerful-enough. Thanks for pointing out that ambient wasn't actually too bright. This is why I love your videos!!! I only have speedlights but will now finally get a strobe and AD300 is the likely choice. Is it compatible with 3rd party wireless triggers like Yongnuo? I have a 5D MkIV as my body.

    I'm sure it has been said but temperature gels will closely match the natural light you're shooting in. Saves anyone from trying to match the cooler day light temperature from speed light vs the golden light from the sun and environment. For me it takes the image one step closer to looking as natural as possible.

    • @fjhphoto

      Totally agree about using gels. I'm just lazy sometimes and resort to post more often than not. If I couldn't do any post work then I'd absolutely be using gels.

    Great video! I can see why people ask why you might be using gels. I am no expert whatsoever in OCF, but most of my flash that I use is very cold and blue and I’ve always been a fan of your warm toned photos. Maybe they are asking because their flashes are blue as well? That’s just my input :)

    • @fjhphoto
      @fjhphoto  Před 3 lety +1

      Thanks so much for this comment. Maybe that is why. Hopefully I can get an example of that from someone to see if that’s what happened with their shot and if it’s just needing a simple tweak in Lightroom to correct.

    Hi, crazy awesome shots as always. You're a master of OCF!
    Please tell us how you control the light spilling onto the floor/background, because usually there's none, and that's unreal! Grids do help, but I don't remember ever seeing you use one...

    • @fjhphoto
      @fjhphoto  Před 3 lety +2

      I usually feather the light which just means barely aiming it to the subject. This causes the light to hit the subject then "fall off" (disappear) around the feet. Other times when I have the light hit around the subject I use editing to darken the area around the subject so it looks more controlled than it is.

    • @AbbasBinYounas
      @AbbasBinYounas Před 3 lety

      @@fjhphoto thanks a lot FJH! Do you feather sideways or in height? Meaning the light is high enough to fall off before reaching the ground?

    • @fjhphoto
      @fjhphoto  Před 3 lety +1

    • @fjhphoto
      @fjhphoto  Před 3 lety

      I never use a tripod. Probably because I don't mind raising the ISO so if I ever need a slow shutter in low light I just instead raise ISO. I can go up to 6400 comfortably on the Sony A7RIII.

    Sir,
    Can I ask your opinion on a issue that I am having? I am using a dual monitor for my desktop.. same model... same lighting conditions... same calibration... when I edit on one monitor (let's say the left one) the image turns out great.. let's say I move the image to the right one the colors are horribly off. I print the image and the one that has the horrible colors is the way it actually is. What can cause such issues? When I watched this video, it looks great on the one that I thought was horrible looks good but the one I originally edited on that looked good turns out bad. I am going nuts and the calibration is just not cutting it. I am going crazy on the monitors to try and find out what is good.

    • @fjhphoto
      @fjhphoto  Před 3 lety
