Plus he’s an Essex boy which is good. At the end of the day it’s a business. They don’t get to emotionally involved. A very clever man who came from nothing. Respect ✊

    mayweather pacman certainly did not happen at the right time, it happened when manny was long gone from his best, beaten any number of times, prime example of a fight held way too long to the point where it was meaningless by the time it happened and we will never know what a prime pacman vs a prime mayweather would have looked like.

      (("when you accept less than you are worth, that's what people are going to keep offering you." - Luwic Ajayi))
      the dude is champion ...
      1o. Leo Spinks who beat Muhammad Ali and took that belt from him never complain that he had only 7 pro fights then ...
      there was no case of how many fights an inactive for more than a year, 41 years old man WK (and washed up by TF) when WK fought AJ ... why you have to put that sdo called "how many fights" if not duck? ...
      as a champion you may compete at that level ... champion fighting to guys that would prove at any moment that they are the best out side there ...
      2o. AJ became champion by beating Martin the champion by default ...
      rules say that you take belts from a belt holder or if that belt is free, you beat the No.1 ranked to claim the belt ... WK wasnt nothing of that two conditions ... Ortiz was the No.1 at the wba ... even if AJ is now wba champion as well, he never fight ortiz ... so on Wilder's and Parker's eyes, AJ isnt that unified champion ... he must prove it ... 50/50 is fair ...
      Now that Wilder take the Ortiz fight as a voluntary fight, win or lose, i commend him for that ... when i know AJ was avoiding King Kong ...
      AJ, HEARNS and ALL THE TEAM MUST STOP MAKING EXCUSES ... NO MORE ... ENOUGH ARE ENOUGH!

      That's why after the WK fight he had to fight Povetkin / Takham to cement the IBF belt, after the parker fight he will more than likely have to fight the WBA mando to satisfy that but beat WK for that so consider him champ. Wilder has only ever fought 1 mando in how many of his championship fights....... yeh sod all yet he wants 50/50. The dude is dreaming, the reason they want a higher split is to satisfy Wilders huge greedy team, no wonder wilder only gets small purses!

    Carlos Ortiz is a former lightweight champion in the 60s, and fairly well respected from what i remember (unfortunately lightweight is one of them divisions that gets overlooked, especially in that generation anyway), that being said i understand the confusion. The point i want to make is Barry Hearn has deteriorated badly over the last few years, and this shows it.

  • @googoo35

    If Wilder knows his value will go up after he beats Ortiz he might do to Ortiz what he did to stirvern in the second fight except in 3-4 rounds and if he does, what will they say about wilder, if Wilder fucks around and start drawing too much attention AJ might be the one having to come to terms with Wilder, but Wilder don't duck it would be against his character and very noticeable

      @Two_Seat_Pete_FatA55 Před 6 lety +3

      Let's be fair, it was only the last part of Floyd's career where he was was more "selective", he fought all comers in his younger years, never took an easy route. Shit, even the last part of his career had him fighting Canelo, Cotto, Maidana, Manny Pacquiao...lol. Even Mosley was coming off a win destroying Margarito. Floyd was about business but he took a lot of hard fights over his long career too, especially on the way up. Anyway enough about Floyd, i think Wilder taking on ortiz should be commended, it's a voluntary. I do think from a business perspective, he was a bit stupid not to take the Whyte fight for much more money but he really needs a proper test. Whyte couldn't even beat a shot Chisora without a gift decision.

    • @punchforpound2808
      @punchforpound2808 Před 6 lety

      Name one single top prime undrained boxer Floyd fought even during his younger years. All the names you've been brainwashed to believe are lies. Manfredy was at the end. Corrales had the fever all of fight week and his fitness coach tried to "starve the fever" which he claims was the biggest mistake of his career as a fitness coach. Corrales was a walking dead man on fight night. Castillo is probably the closest Floyd ever came to fighting a prime top fighter and he beat Floyd the first fight even though Castillo had been knocked out multiple times prior to fighting Floyd and was never an actual elite boxer. So who else you got? Canelo was drained. Marquez pulled up 10 pounds and Floyd still missed weight. Maidana was not an elite boxer and Floyd paid him off not to use Everlast MX gloves. Ironically the only top prime undrained athlete Floyd has ever fought is Conor Mcgregor LOL, and he obviously isn't a boxer.
      So why are you wasting your time defending this guy? There are plenty of boxers out there to be a fan of. Why are you fixated on Floyd of all people? What did he ever give you besides cherry picked fights where he tried to avoid exchanges as much as possible?

While Joshua highest pay is £25m in a country with 50m population. Does it mean the American boxing audience doesn't think much of him as a boxer? No Mr Hearn. It’s you that is making that mistake, by underestimating Wilder. Matchroom Boxing has a paper thin talent pool, without Joshua. Matchroom is relying heavily on Sky’s financial backing, however Sky have lost several key sporting events recently, and their arrogance (along with Matchroom’s) is conning the general public into believing everything they say is right, in terms of media output. For example, Sky Sports news (or the app) will not cover news events of boxers who have fought under Frank Warren’s promotion on Boxnation or BT Sport, which is the home of boxing in the UK, not Sky.

As he said AJ would fight anyone tomorrow but Matchroom are there to make sure their fighters maximise their earnings in what can be a short lived career. Plans are in place but if greedy opponents are unrealistic on their value then other back up plans are in place. Takam being on stand by when Pulev bailed proves that Hearn and Son actually do everything they can to make the show go on !

Also thank for explaining to the causal in uk. that you cant fight the best every single fight maybe once a year because your building a brand and lack of good heavyweights.. Ali and the like's could do that because boxing had the mob and good legedary gym all across the usa getting country men involved.. boxing was seen as right to passage back then, now computer jobs and clean work lifestyle are see as right to passages for men to be strong among his peers. Hearn said that it's the 1st time 2 undefeated heavyweight champions have fought. Well strictly that may be true but Ali v Frazier 1. Both undefeated, Frazier the current heavyweight champion and Ali had been stripped without fighting so in the eyes of the public he was STILL the man although he didn't actually have the belt. Great fight but one that Ali would most likely have won if he hadn't been banned from boxing from the age of 25 to almost 29. If he'd still been boxing during that period he would in all probability have become better and better at his trade! Let's not forget that as Cassius Clay he was undefeated and no-one even got close to him!!

    The entire Universe should stop revolving around the USA. Joshua, GGG, Kovalev etc etc should defend their well earned belts in front of their home fans that have supported them all these years. The money will follow.

    Barry overselling a little, perhaps? Joshua-Wilder -- the first time two undefeated heavyweight champions have met? How about Frazier-Ali in 1971? On an infinitely higher plane in terms of past records, ability, public interest -- imo

    Wilder is making a mistake because he's not doing what his opponents camp wants him to do ?? Makes no sense. You all talk as if Hearn has Wilders' best interests at heart. NOT !! I'm glad DW has enough common sense to carefully make his own decisions and not be pressured by what's being said on social media.

    If Wilder beats Ortiz and these ayeholes use the split excuse to duck Wilder, it will make Joshua look bad n the eyes of true fans. We want the best possible fights. Seems like instead of negotiating, they'll use excuse to avoid Wilder.

      Caoxn Lopez You do realise these are serious business people you are talking about right? What financial gain is there Ducking Wilder....possibly the biggest heavyweight match up at the moment?

    • @caoxnlopez2059
      @caoxnlopez2059 Před 6 lety +1

      Michael Olapoju - 1. Get more money by delaying fight. 2. Keep AJ champ while they wait for Fury 3. Hope Wilder loses or slows down so that AJ fight is easier.

    • @michaelolapoju6352
      @michaelolapoju6352 Před 6 lety

      Caoxn Lopez all sensible answers apart from nos3. At the moment Wilder can't even fill a 12000 capacity in his home town of Alabama....so the fight at this time is so not financially beneficial for AJ unless Wilder can accept he is so B side and accept 30percent ofcourse. This is hard sport is a business my friend....if AJ can fight Takam or any other relative unknown, fill 60000 stadium, on PPV and take home 15million pounds(which by the way is more than Wilder made in his last 20 fights)....then why should he fight Wilder who thinks he deserves 50percent? Wilder needs to build his popularity and that will mean fighting someone British thats worthy of note cause you have to agree the money is in the UK at the money. Let's face it your US wba champion has never made PPV, not known in his own country and b4 Ortiz fight never made 1million dollars for a fight!!! He doesn't even have 1 single Coorporation put their brand on him in sponsorship! So whether he can beat AJ or not is out of the question here to be honest....you can only find that out in the ring when the business side of the fight is made! But in my honest professional opinion as an ex boxer....hmmm..AJ will slap him around the ring and knock him cold within 3 rounds trust me! They are worlds apart in core strength, skills, stamina, ring intelligence and mentality......

    • @michaelolapoju6352
      @michaelolapoju6352 Před 6 lety

      This ducking jibes are just lame to be honest....if Wilder is so confident he should accept the offer on the table and accept he is B side with absolutely no power in negotiations else he will be sidelined as 'no good business' it's as simple as that. And if he wins he becomes the A side! What fans don't see is that all Wilder is after is a big pay day.....retirement money. Make money he hasn't seen in all his 40 fights in one night but it doesn't work like that!!

    • @caoxnlopez2059
      @caoxnlopez2059 Před 6 lety

    All you bumsquard fan boys,got a question for y’all,if Wilder and his promoter want the fight as much as he claim he wants and demanding 50-50 split why can’t he and his promoter make the fight happen and make an offer to AJ and his team?Why should it be AJ and his team be the one to give him his payday?if he’s so desperate to be a unified champion after so many years cherry picking bums let him and his promoter make AJ an irresistible offer.

  • @TrackorBeats

    Stats have it AJ worth $22 mil and Wilder $16 mil so Wilder's also a rich man. Of course money does play a huge part for The Bronze Bomber wanting to fight AJ. However, I believe he more wants to prove he's the best heavyweight and thus boxer on the planet, and claim all the belts. He needs to beat Ortiz first though.
