How good are the components? Is the board double layered?

nope, they're just normal boards. double siding them wouldn't make any sense, since there's nothing that needs to be held in place, plus doing it would make the box bigger for no good reason :)

Good. That means they focused more on the actual gameplay than bling for FOMO collector/hoarder bait.

As much as I think World Wonders is a decent game, I let it pass without ever playing it. This one is more compelling for me to try out. How would you compare the two as "city builders"?

i like WW quite a bit, but this one is on another level :)

@@rahdo Cool. Watching the runthrough gave me vibes of Warsaw: City of Ruins, which is probably my favourite city building game.
