- Have you ever wanted to travel to Santorini Greece but on a budget? Well guess what you can!
Typically Santorini (like all the Greek Islands) are a popular summer destination for many reasons. The summer brings warm weather and long days lounging at the beach. But traveling to Santorini in the summer can also be expensive and for all my budget travelers out there, this may not be possible. But guess what? It is possible to travel to Santorini on a budget, you just have to travel in the Winter/Off Season. But is it worth traveling to Santorini in the winter? YES! YES it is! In fact, traveling t Santorini in the off season provides with the beautiful Santorini views without the expensive accommodation prices or TOURISTS! In fact, most restaurants and shops provide "off season" pricing. Accommodation is at an all time low. You will essentially have the island to yourself! And the weather is absolutely beautiful! With that being said, there are also some negatives that come with off season travel,. like most destinations when not in season. And if you can handle most places being closed and not being at to get in the water then this is the perfect winter destination!
So I encourage you to rethink of Santorini as an off season destination. Do you take the challenge?

Have planned to visit Santorini in December for my Honeymoon, After I came to know it is off season like many shops are clossed, limited accomodations and about the beach I was about to change the destination. But after watching your vlog, I'm totally satisfied to visit there in December! After all it is all about it's serene views and comfortable stay. Thank you Kayla :)

Traveling to Santorini in the off season is definitely the best time to travel, especially if you want to experience the island without all of the tourists! Santorini is definitely worth the hype that people have given it!

I am a huge advocate for off season travel and my time in Santorini is the perfect depiction for why. It was amazing to essentially have the island to ourselves. If you are thinking about going at the end of February, I say do it! The weather was perfect, the prices were affordable and barely any tourists. But of course that comes with some negatives as well, but if the negatives are not important to you than do it! Thanks for watching my video!

So beautiful. I was in Santorini last February 2020 a few days before you. We stayed in Fira, as I researched what areas were more open for business. We rented a home on the side of the hills that had the same gorgeous views. We did the 700 steps down to take a sail boat cruise and then took the sky tram back up the hill. We also rented a taxi van to show us all around the island including Oia, which was way more quiet than Fira. Just us and the working donkeys and the cats. We also went to the Archaelogical Museum which was so amazing. Would go back in a heart beat in winter again, but there are so many places I need to see first.
I have never been in the summer but honestly idk if I would want to! After essentially having Santorini to ourselves, I don’t know if it would be the same experience in the summer. It was such a dream! I have recommended the winter to a lot of people. It’s budget friendly and the perfect way to experience Santorini!

There is NO bad view in Santorini and that’s a fact! There is a reason why Santorini is one of the most popular islands!

We went to Santorini when it was extremely hot and busy, and considering the beaches aren't a main draw for Santorini, I think going back during the off-season would be a greeeeeat idea lol
We seriously had PERFECT weather and no tourists was an added bonus. Although, I still would love to see what it’s like in the summer time!
Hey ! I'm a tour guide in Santorini during high seasons and I've actually never seen Santorini during the winter, so I'm having a great time discovering it thanks to you !! To answer your questions about closed churches : YES, churches are also CLOSED during the summer, as these are PRIVATE churches, built by local families, and they only open on the name's day of the saint that protects their family, and throw a massive party with free wine and food, and everyone dancing ;-)
Santorini is truly as beautiful as the photos! Visiting it in the winter was perfect to see if for what it is without the tourists, but would LOVE to return in the summer to see the vast difference! Wow, Santorini looks amazing...did you find it was clear what was a public path vs private property? To avoid accidentally invading someone's yard?
There are signs everywhere. But honestly, just respect your surroundings. No ONE should be umping on top of any roof, whether you think it is private property or not. We have to remember as visitors that this is someone's home. There are signs displayed all over the city and it baffles me how people disregard that to get the IG photo. A lot of people that I saw on top of roofs were on top of churches which is extremely disrespectful.

If you like gin scottish gin is booming with over 300 gin distillerys .
I normally work as a guide at the falkirk wheel and used to work at Edinburgh and Stirling Castles .
I'd happily show you around the old town of Edinburgh.

Don't waste your time with London its too expensive and crowded.

There are a lot of options from wine tasting to ATVs. Most of the water options are not available during the winter. Not exactly sure what you are looking for.

We stayed in the Caldera Premium Villas.
But are there a lot of people there in the off season?
There were only a handful of tourist in Oia. Most stay in Fira in the off season.

That is going to depend on where you are traveling from. I would recommend researching different travel options to Greece!

Yeah just a little bit but the one day we were there is was warm. We started taking off layers because that sun was shining! We had beautiful weather. So I will take off season with no tourists any day!

No it wasn’t. It was mid to high 60s Fahrenheit. Our last day was in the 70s.
