Many happy hours spent in my old studio in the 1990s early 2000s with this keyboard an alesis mmt8, Atari STFM, and an Evolution EVS1.

This is Yamaha’s great work of 90s. Their ‘vector’ synthesis system (& of course its sounds) still make me excited.
yes, even in a simple model they had: volume pedal, sustain, later on some had midi..
@@fernandotecladista The latest model PSS-A50 does not have any MIDI jack. Neither do the latest PSR models… I want them bring back “fan”ctional & unique gears!

I had one of these. Great sounds and 16-part multitimbral. Built in sequencer, vector joystick. Classic and underrated.
yes, it's a great instrument, many great functions even today, I really like this keyboard, today I have a pss-51, practically a psr-500 with the same concept as this pss
You can't add velocity, but it has a very nice sound. I fell in love with the sound, including waveform perfection and speaker performance, and bought it on the spot when I first saw it at a musical instrument store.
The chip does have velocity capability but only when triggered externally via MIDI. The velocity implementation appears to only really modulate volume from what I have heard. Velocity doesn't appear to affect brilliance (or timbre) like my DSR-2000 does, but this was a much cheaper and less advanced keyboard. Still a cool little thing!

U play very nicely well done. It’s not a bad old instrument good sounds for it’s time of introducing back in 1990. I had thought about buying one of these but found it was missing a few features including custom drummer and other but again a great sound engine/chip.

Eu tenho um desse. Tava guardado e Nem Me lembrava mais dele. Me lembro que usava ele na década de 90 para escrever partitura no Encore através do cabo MIDI .
Esse não tenho mais, estou com um pss 51, bem parecido
O 790 ultimas vezes usei como controlador em outro teclado, me aliviou no peso que eu carregava, o resultado era como ter 2 teclados grandes em palco
Gosto desse pq posso ter dois canais midi, um pelo teclado e outro pelo pad
Cara isso é raridade..eu toquei em 93.num show cultural em ITAPETININGA com um desse do meu grande amigo ..sabia ..ele tem até hoje essa pérola 🤩🤩..lembro que toquei Carrie, Rendezvous, Richard Marx.. tempo bom.

Ele é muito bom em recursos e ainda os timbres são os que vem nos PSRs, uma versão atualizada dele com pen drive seria lindo para salvar os arranjos
Esse modelo eu não tenho mais, porém estou com o pss-51 bem próximo em recursos

@@fernandotecladista Do you remember if there is any way to play this keyboard through a full size MIDI master keyboard with full auto accompaniment? I tried in many ways but on all receive channels it sends only the voice part across all the keyboards, also when the auto accompaniment is turned on. Possible that is not provided a remote control MIDI feature on this ?
@@musk771 I never got to use midi on this keyboard, now I went to read the manual and test it on pss 51
for "MIDI IN" there is only one function to activate and deactivate the channels and the "midi clock"

Siempre he tenido teclados pesados, 01 / w, g1000, de 15 a 20 kg
para el ensayo tomé este pss, también lo usé en midi en el g1000 para presentaciones

This keyboard is already using Yamaha's AWM technology; it has the same tones that have been present since the PSR 500, 510... up to the present day.
From what I've researched, the chip you mentioned is for FM synthesis, and it was used in models up to the PSS-780

Hola Fernando tengo un pss 795 es casi igual.quisiera preguntarte si para el modo midi existe la opción( local on /off)o solo se puede ocupar bajando el volumen.gracias.saludos desde entre rios
en el panel solo dos funciones midi
* uno en el que selecciona el canal que desea transmitir
no hay forma de cancelar este canal de transmisión,
* y otro en el que habilita o deshabilita canales que reciben algo de otro teclado o computadora
si usa PSS como módulo de sonido

O teclado é meio antigo, quem coloca a venda pede quanto acha que vale, eu já vi preço de 200,00 a quase 1.000,00
Ai precisa ver estado de conservação se vale a pena e se vale o motivo da compra, tem uns teclados nem tão antigo de PSR com tecla tamanho normal no mesmo preço desse
