It’s never too late. I am moving to QRO MX March 2024. I am over 70, retired 7 years and selling my home. It’s never too late! ❤
A movement!! Enjoy Mexico! I hope I'll see you next time I'm there. 💗
I’m 62 just got back from a 3 month sabbatical - I spent it in Dominica, I did a lot of reflecting and determined that work is not the boss of me ! I want to do what pleases me🥰
Is it too late? Are you breathing? I love your question and your energy! You definitely changed my life!! I'm almost six months in to my sabbatical and the years of stress are still melting off-mindset still evolving...please keep setting the captives free! This is the new underground railroad
This channel has helped me immensely. In less than a week of learning about this channel, I have taken FMLA, improved my mental health, and have a new hope for my life! (I'm only 27, btw!) Thanks, @Stephanie Perry, for using your platform for the betterment of other Black women. ❤
Congratulations Mila on taking ACTION to get your needs met. I'm so glad to hear this!! 💗 I hope you're doing well and healing.
I love watching and hearing about changing my life although it seems out my reach. I haven't died, but all my dreams has. I'm 63 and it seems I can't get to my soft life.
Hello friend I'm 62, and you just have to find a way, you can make new dreams..you can do this
@@sydnidavis1846
@sydnidavis1846 Nope. Your dreams have not died
Maybe you just need to modify, update or get new ones! Somethings a-brewing that's why you found Stephanie and the rest of the possee!!!
I started watching your channel when I was on my FMLA in 2022. Since then I have activated my plan to live my life. My 33 year old daughter is my major supporter and told me to do what is going to make me happy and she will always be there to support me. I have started executing my plan in 2023 getting the finances in order. Through you I have found Adalia, Roshida, Our Black Utopia and Our Rich Journey. Each one of you have taught me different things and I have put those things in place. Thank you so much! I’m starting to cry now so I’ll just say it again, THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!! Please keep doing what you are doing, it is helping women like me change their lives. ❤
The lockdown was a sabbatical that a lot of people experienced which led to the great resignation. I stayed home for a few months in 2020 and I realized how much work was sucking the life force out of me.
EDIT: the question that came to mind constantly was “what would my soul think if I pass out at work?”
There was a man who died at work and that woke me right up.
I live abroad at 72 in Panama. Aren't we still alive? I moved last year after 10 years of retirement in the US.
I'm 56 ,you have inspired me. Is it nice in pannama?? From London
Stephanie, you are so funny and so wise! Not yet able to take a sabbatical due to family circumstances, but I just quit my extremely intense job for much easier career path where I will hide out until I’m ready for my sabbatical.
I'm so glad you're taking the steps to lighten your load right now Sasha! 💗
At the age of 62, I took a sabbatical (full year). I just turned 63 and will start working again in July. I am planning to work for another 3-5 years in a field that I love. Interestingly enough, I moved to Germany in my late 20s and returned aged 40 and have been working hard every since until my sabbatical. This movement, tickles me. I LOVED living in Europe but returned to tend to my aging parents.
I did die at my last job! Mentally. But was resurrected when I said goodbye and retired. Now I’m alive again! Looking at Spain or Portugal to move too. I’m a senior but I have always been bold and never afraid of challenges or adventures. I love your channel and love your podcasts and humor. You, Halisi and Ric are my favorite podcasters on reimagining and reinventing yourself. Love you and thank you! 😁❤️
Loved the question 🤣 Your videos keep me inspired. My question I always ask is, "is it still in my heart?" If the answer is yes, then don't stop moving towards that goal!! My quit date is May 2024. Better life here I come!
Hello from Dakar, Senegal....watching the weather reports back in my home city in the US. The governor has declared a state of emergency...feeling grateful to have divorced winter.
Very late seeing your video.... Hiking trails in the national park wearing Alaskan Mukluks silver 🦊 fox ear muffs Northern Outfitters clothes, just the 2 of us age 70
Feeling good & giggly Stephanie is the best Stephanie. 😆😆
Yes, too funny! Love it. It’s not too late and thank God we got people out here living life while on sabbatical. 😂🎉❤
It might seem random but I REALLY appreciate that you (and the guests that you have on) don’t swear.
It’s thoroughly refreshing, thank you.
I so agree. All that vulgarity whether coming from a man or woman doesn't improve or uplift anyone.
To add, I deeply respect the amount of self-control and emotional maturity it takes to discuss the subjects discussed here without any obscenities or resentment. No doubt whatsoever --- there has been major mistreatment involved - even hatred and abuse - that’s led to these discussions about picking up, uprooting an entire life and moving to a whole different NATION because of lived experiences .... but to be able to hold these discussions without profanity, bitterness or any rancor is EXTREMELY mature and almost never heard of.
I am VERY thankful for the examples shown here of this highest of levels of emotional intelligence and maturity. Again... it is VERY, VERY ............VERY RARE.
Thank you
@@noble604 Yes...Noble you are. You nailed it in every way. It appears to be more of a Socratic Dialogue. I doubt if Stephanie would allow it any other way. Im sure she see's all the name calling and personal attacks for a comment or position. Bet she just blocks and deletes. We''re all here to learn and grow. We're taking big risks to change our lives. No time for the okey doke. Trust me. I've had enough negativity thrown my way to last a lifetime. What I know is it doesn't grow anything or anybody. Noble, thanks for your response. Your wise, measured and mature insights really did uplift my spirit today.
I've been watching you long enough to know what your question was going to be. And yes you are hilarious.
Hilarious Stephanie😂 Before you posed the question, my thought was this: Never too late if you're still breathing lol
Luv your channel! It's really making me think. As a professional woman of color in my 50s, I just heard two stories today about prominent Black women who died this month giving their all to professions who didn't acknowledge or support them in their mental health struggles - one died by suicide and the other succumbed to cancer. I'm deciding to live my life differently and care about me for once.❤️
Hello from Italy! That is hilarious! Thank you for inspiring me to take the leap.
Hey, Sis. How long have you been in Italy? I'd love to know what's like.
@@angelstar7656 Oh yea! Italy is fabulous. I took my TEFL training in Florence several years ago and fell in love with Italy! Thinking about living there for a bit myself. I did this when I was in my late 60's early 70's. I am so excited to learn we older woman are moving in this arena , too. Couldn't find many. Now, I'm thinking folks are my age but just a bit hesitant about revealing it ....for some reason. I'm proud of making it. I've navigated a lot of challenges, obstacles and disappointments. This strong mind and body is my reward!
I was quickly writing your question, concentrating on "getting it right" until your question actually registered. I'm still laughing.
I am here for all of your joy and infectious energy. I am grateful for my mini sabbatical and being in this community. It’s not too late and as someone who is still working I tell people to take ALL your PTO. I find the way to take your break on the job if need be. There are many ways.
Yes you do look amazing. Have a great time in PR!
Hola Stephanie! I told myself, (better late than never!) And I acted upon that!!!
So many ,many thanks to your videos!😊
😮I am watching the replay. Yesterday it was 18 degrees in Georgetown Texas and today 70 degrees. Thanks for the video.
As a recent subscriber I’m so thankful I found your channel. Decided to finally boycott winter in Northern Indiana & moved to Nevada. Now I boycott the 100+ degree summer months here, and travel to places that have “regular” summer heat. 😂
The question I asked myself was, “Can I do this another day?” The answer was no, so I knew it was time to take a break and pivot to something else.
Love your videos always, Stephanie.
Amazing video and message. It’s never too late! I am inspired. Thank you.
Last day of the RTR is tomorrow so if you are in or around Quartzsite, AZ come out nomads and vaycarians!
Hi, do you have a social media channel? I'd love to hear your experiences in Quartzsite.
I’m getting ready to figure out where I want to “live” and retire. I’m going to be 66 next week & I know that there is more out there for me. I still need to work very part-time, but if I move, I can work much less!
Watching on replay. Glad I caught it. I will check out the videos. Not sure how I want my sabbatical to look…but I am open to finding out! Thank you.
I’m from MN, moved cause of the cold, only to move to MD😵💫 Finally launching a remote business this spring, just to be able to move freely and be somewhere warm and free. Thank u for motivating me!
Your question was hilarious! I also want to thank you for my sabbatical, I didn't even know that I needed it.
😊😊. Have a good day and thanks for sharing.
Lol, it is a great question, it is never too late... great video x
🧡🧡😁 Stephanie, the question is hilarious, yet true. Older women living the life of their dreams inspires many of us to go for it! Admiration & Joy is evident in expat community.
Yes, Stephanie this is a Movement! You sparked it and it has caught afire! I am watching this video again cuz you have wonderful energy!
Loved your question
I love that question. I too laughed and i am in a restaurant in Colombia. Thankfully I didn't have food in my mouth 😂😂😂
I am teambop at 66 and team boycott winter. It's a wonderful life
Still country dating, it's divertida!
Yes, as you say, it is DEFINITELY about deciding about how you want to approach your life. It is a decision. Life, of course, happens and brings us unforeseen curve balls, but the general direction is absolutely decided by ourselves once we are grown. I am not too old, just two years shy of 60, and I am carving that path. ❤ I love how you are helping women connect these dots, Stephanie ❤
Great video!
I laughed so hard - GUFFAWED - when you asked that question! This channel has changed my whole POV of life.
I just love your energy 😂. Not dead ? Not late💯 🌻
I knew you were going to ask the dead question 😂😂😂 ❤ Seriously though, people need your response and it is so helpful!
Ahhhhh I am cracking up! What a question 😂
I have told so many of my friends old & young about you & your content. Love 💕 love you 😍 & your content. How do I get the last year Summit & this year summit info. I am 67 & I’m ready to do things differently 🎉🎉
Love it Stephanie. Take a sabbatical from life as it is today......Words of wisdom! ❤
😂 I think you are hilarious too! You’re right, it’s never too late
Great question😂. I decided on a brk from my life in 2022 and it will take place this summer! So nervi-cited😅
LOL! Your question is funny, but I like the answer!
Stephanie, you had me busting out laughing (so glad I wasn't in the office). 😂 But you are absolutely right, never too late!
The question I asked myself’ is this it? Is this all we do, work to buy stuff and repeat?’ 😖
Grown up gap year (sabbatical) 👍🏽... I'm with that!
"We doin' this now!" 🙌🏽
Hi Stephanie,
Will you share tips on how you grew your number of subscribers and views for your CZcams channel? Your video on "3 Things You Need to Make Money with No Job" was very interesting and also very inspiring when you talked about starting your CZcams Channel! Thank you!🙂
That first question has me cracking up. I was not expecting that Stephanie. I can't stop, laughing. But it does shift your perspective in regard to what quality of life do I deserve?
Not dead yet but that job and pouring from my empty bucket was killing me for sure
I love your hair
The way I hollered at that question 😂😂😂
Such a great question 😂 I ask my clients something similar when they ask if it's too late to invest. I ask: are you calling me from a graveyard? If not, nop it's not too late. If so, we have to stop talking now lol. I feel like people tend to use that as an excuse. Never too late for anything you really want to do. Thanks Stephanie for the reminder and thanks for leading this movement 💕
Your questions were hilarious!
ABSOLUTELY HILARIOUS!!! I had to post that...have you already died???
I LOVE IT
Starting the leap by Housesitters. Are there any codes for discount on your class or older videos. Thxs
Sorry, Catherine, I don't have a discount code any more. The price is worth it though. Make sure you actually apply for and book a sit, and you get your money's worth. (The last discount code I had was during Black Friday. Try to use the code THS30BF in case it's still working. Or try 20TRUST )
Yes, as long as you have breath in your body, it is not too late! 😊 I am a Team Boycott Winter! 😅 Tfs
I also boycott winter 🥶 🎉❤
Hi Stephanie, love your channel. However, they’re so long and can’t watch to the end. This one was just right. Can you some times make two episodes so that I won’t miss anything. I just can’t watch a two hour episode. Please consider it. Thanks, Rose
I’m 30 and people tell me I’m too young for one and haven’t earned it /deserve it.

I am self employed wfh, determine my own hours and could do this from Europe.
Hey Stephanie! Do you still do sabbatical planning?
I wanna get tf out of the United Snakes of America!!!! God bless us black woman 🤎🤎🤎. Bomb video as always!! Thank u Goddess 🙏🏾
Stephanie, I am interested in a house sitting in warmer countries. I live in the UK. Any advice to get started? ❤
She has a Housesitters Toolkit for purchase. Check the links on her page/videos.
I am still alive! Procrastination and confusion are me critical illnesses!

I'm new to this channel! A bit skeptical, but hopeful Am I too poor to support a sabbatical? Where can i get actual step x step details !?
Depends on what you really mean by too poor. A lot of folks talk about places being so much more 'affordable" than the US or Canada. But they compare the most expensive areas in those areas with other countries. So you have to take what others consider 'affordable' with a grain of salt.
I don't have $5000 a month. My budget is more along the lines of $1000 per month. Heck, I lived in W. Africa on about $600 per month, so it can be done. I just wish more folks in other places could talk about expat life on a real budget
Stephanie talks about how she took her sabbatical on $14,000 in a video or two on this channel.
Stephanie gives a lot of step by step instructions. You have to search the content on her channel. I’ve never seen someone give a wealth of info like Stephanie does. Welcome!!
Hello I am Rosalind and I will be 55 yrs young I was injured on the job in 2019 so I have not been working but I would like to travel to Africa and hopefully relocate there how do I get started
Hi Rosalind. I hope you're doing well. 💗 If you're already making enough money or have the money to go, most people start with a visit to the country they want to move to. We call it a scouting trip. If you don't have the money to visit, start with figuring out the budget. Different countries in Africa have different costs of living. You can use a cost of living calculator like Numbeo.com to find that out.
Leaving US and taking fam with me. Building housing community in the Pacific w friends where its cheaper I'm done. We're supposed to get out of Babylon not try to find some peace here.
One question is this;
Is it worth what I think it would cost me?
What could I do to get balance in life while I'm waiting for the season to change?
I quit corporate, moved to Uganda withmyfamily, and started a non-profit organization for disabled children and poor women. We're called Tikvah Chadasha Uganda.
😂😂😂😂😂
I will never see a hotel notepad the same again.
Love your energy!
😂😂😂 “Have I already died?!”
My only challenge is acquiring health insurance while taking a sabbatical 😢.
I did government insurance (which is terrible) but I only needed to use it once. I went to all my doctors prior to quitting my job. I took a short sabbatical, so I’m back to working and have health insurance again. But I’m working on a long term solution which will probably be living in another country where healthcare isn’t tied to your job.
A lot of jobs don’t offer sabbaticals.
That's right. When I say sabbatical, I generally mean quit the job and then get another job afterwards. But some women use a leave of absence or some other method to create their own sabbatical. I just mean a career break of any sort.
😫🤣🤣
LOL
I have two jobs😳
I’m quitting one job tomorrow
Im taking baby steps
🩷I’m planning my sabbatical to see myself living leisurely
My me days and me months are priority 🩷
I'm 77 years old and doing my third career break/sabbatical after I "retire" from my 3rd career!! Too old? Too late? Nope. Maybe I have to "bop around" differently...given my age. However, my life is to be honored. Decided the other day, I'm gonna die anyway. I can die in my own neighborhood , in my own bed...Or, I can die in Bali, or Florence, or Malaysia. I got this whole sabbatical, career break years ago and learned it's more than just bopping around. It's everything else.
Thank you so much for sharing this @trace3254! I'm glad you're honoring YOUR life and YOUR dreams!! 💗
@@StephaniePerry Oh, Stephanie, thank you too. I am a housesitter today because of you! I am hoping also, to one day, attend one of your global meetups!!! In addition, after I offcially retire this May....and get my 3rd stream of income, I'd like to work with you to start my own CZcams channel for folks my age! Seems to me like not much for the 70+ out here. Our requirements are a bit different. Again, thanks again for giving these younger folks the confidence to open up their lives. Hope to meet you in person soon.
