My understanding is that meat doesn't have carbs and because of this there is no glucose spike (or actually there is, but it's really small compared to meals with carbs). If you are eating carbs you can use fiber as a workaround to slow down glucose spike. But it will also worsen absorption of other nutrients as well. You don't need to do this if your are carnivore though.

We’ve had so much unhealthy food marketed to the public that we began believing the marketing. Processed food has also changed. Now there are more chemicals added to what used to be a trusted brand. It’s infuriating. We have to read everything before buying & know as much as a biologist to figure out if bugs or what kind of chemical sugar is added to everything. Honestly, it’s easier buying whole food. Learn how to cook it quickly or learn to prep when you have time.

How do you explain all the folks who consume tons of sugar but are in their 80's or 90's. I've ate sugar since I was a wee kid in the 1950's; drunk fizzy pop, ate sweets, had puddings, cakes, beer, etc, every day of my life (well, the beer began when I was about 8 year old, Scottish tradition). I'm still in good shape. I have been a vegetarian since the 1970's, but still don't view sugar as problematic and have a very sweet tooth. Not on any Meds, not lost my marbles. Real life always contradicts the "latest science". It was the same with the "fat problem" of the 1960's onwards. Most didn't have heart attacks due to fat.
P.S. All these so-called health and ageing gurus look terrible for their years, what does that tell you? Do the opposite!

I have a check-up every year, and all my numbers and blood work are spot on. I do cook from scratch. Never eat processed food or fast food. I make bread every week ( ever hear the phase "bread and butter is the staff of life"? ) and eat dessert twice a day (just made a pan of peanut butter fudge). Everything in moderation. Like, don't sit down and eat a whole cake. Like I said... I'm almost 70, and have people tell me I look like I'm in my late 40s or early 50s. I'll take it! Both my parents lived to their mid, late 90s. These health gurus are extremist, and they look old and unhealthy. My opinion.
