When King Harold suddenly croaks, Shrek (Mike Myers) learns he will have to rule the land of Far, Far Away, unless he can find a suitable heir to the throne. The most-promising candidate is Princess Fiona's (Cameron Diaz) cousin Artie (Justin Timberlake), a teenage slacker in a medieval high-school. Shrek and his trusted companions, Donkey (Eddie Murphy) and Puss in Boots (Antonio Banderas), set out to bring Artie back but find their mission is a bigger challenge than they expected.

I hope I'm not alone when I say I enjoyed Shrek 3 more than Shrek 1. I feel it is overall funnier than Shrek 1 & that Charming is a better villain than Farquad. Plus, I like the whole idea of Shrek having to deal with becoming a father which adds a lot to his character.
To repeat what I wrote in the Shrek 2 reaction video: It's believed that Fairy Godmother is the 1 who cursed Fiona to become an Ogre. The reason why Fairy Godmother did this to Fiona was that way Charming could rescue her when they were both old enough & he would become the next king of Far Far Away. Given Charming's upbringing & his obession to become king of Far Far Away that we see in this movie, it also adds to his motivation to get rid of Shrek for revenge for taking his bride & kingdom that his mother tried to give him.
Will you three be doing
Shrek forever after (2010)
Puss in boots (2011)
And Puss in boots: the last wish (2022)?
czcams.com/video/7i-KkRqZRDU/video.html may I ask what name of the movie in video, please.
That “somebody better be dying” line always has me dying laughing. The worst timing ever.
“Why not say someone was dying from the plague while you’re at it!?”
Sorry, couldn’t resist
This actually happened to me in high school, and it's honestly my worst memory. I was struggling to get a bunch of work done before class started. In the middle of this, someone calls out to talk to me, and I grumbled, "Somebody better be dying." Turns out, one of my classmates shot himself and was in the hospital in critical condition. He died later that day.
May your friend Rest In Peace 🙏
Shrek had a face that clearly said "Oh shyt, I had to jinx it, did I?" 😬
Right
My favorite part of this movie is when Shrek and Arthur have that talk about excepting yourself by the fire. That, and the princess's badass break in sequence. Especially Snow White's part.
Me too
What doesn’t make much sense is why the Queen has a strong forehead or how that transfers to Fiona as natural martial arts.
Arguably the best scene in the movie.
Same here especially with the 🔥 music from Thor Ragnarok movie
Snow White's part always was my favorite from this movie !!!! ❤
Arthur's speech could not be any simpler:
You don't want to be the bad guy? Don't. Be. The bad guy.
Reminds me of the DreamWorks movie "The Bad Guys"
And The Lego Movie
I love Shrek's character progression in this movie. From being fearful of becoming a parent to fully embracing it and welcoming the ogre triplets.
"Well, my stomach aches, and my palms just got sweaty. Must be a high school." Gets me every time😂
That’s the feeling of anxiety
That feeling perfectly describes high school life, especially if you were the metaphorical punching bag for bullies.
30:00 ... If you rewind the scene, Donkey and Puss are holding hands. I'm certain that's why they swapped bodies.
Also, this whole series is absolute treasure 🪙🪙 and I can't wait for the next one 😂
Huh, never figured that, good catch.
Shrek 2 and 3 are personal favorites, I've often heard that Shrek 3 isn't so great but to me I think it introduced Artie and Shrek being a father-figure pretty warmly. Side note: The scene with Snow White and her battalion of animals attacking the enchanted trees will ALWAYS be the coolest scene to me
In case you’re wondering, the two songs the Queen (Julie Andrews) hums at 35:02 are “A Spoonful of Sugar” from Mary Poppins and “My Favorite Things” from The Sound of Music, two of her most iconic songs.
This movie is so underrated, and good imo. Great reaction, keep up the awesome work
I always laughed at
“Well somebody better be dying!”
King: “I’m dying…”😂😂😂😂
The DreamWorks debut of Justin Timberlake as Arthur! Many may know him as once dating Cameron Diaz many years ago in the 2000s (and even starring alongside him in this movie and one called Bad Teacher), but Timberlake would continue his contributions to DreamWorks following up with the Trolls film series!
But the spell is ultimately designed to make Fiona permanently ogreish, because “love’s true form” is acceptance. Fairy Godmother seems like the kind of person to make Fiona human at the end. It’s true she didn’t throw out her plans when she saw Fiona was an ogre, but she definitely seemed surprised when she first saw her.
I think it was the Godmother’s idea to lock Fiona in the tower, but I think the spell was just some random wandering witch who wanted to teach some kind of lesson.
@@dodiswatchbobobo Or maybe the spell's break changes depending on the species. A lot of people say Fairy Godmother DID curse Fiona as an excuse for Charming to rescue her.
@@jamiegameplaythrough9485 A lot of people say it, but the creators never have
@@dodiswatchbobobo Shrek 5 MIGHT say it.
@@jamiegameplaythrough9485 Cool. Not important. While it’s unconfirmed, I have my own opinion for the reasons outlined above.
14:38 The ship captain is voiced by Seth Rogen. I was surprised when I saw the end credits.
Cinderella's stepsister Doris is voiced by Larry King. Rest in peace.
9:03 I believe his name was Stromboli, who held Pinocchio captive for a get-rich scheme using the puppet's fame. It was one of the darkest moments of that 1940s movie. The most darkest moment was the donkey transformation.
Tim: Not the piano.
Me: 😂😂😂
28:32
9:08 Even as a kid, I've always appreciated the attention to detail that the first two villains Charming addresses are Queen Grimhilde and Stromboli, as those are the villains (or, in Stromboli's case, *a* villain) of the first two Disney animated films.
Fun fact: Shrek having a nightmare about having children is part of the Shrek book the movies are based on.
Donkey and Puss's tails are restored later so that accidental switcheroo apparently is temporarily.
The ladies should have taken Pinocchio with them when he left to hide. They know he can't lie. Even if he was doing an OK job of trying to deflect
That quote at 23:49 has to be my favorite quote from this movie because it's so true LMFAO as well as Shrek roasting Charming during the final battle 🤣💕
I don’t get the hate for Shrek 3 at all. Sure it’s not on the same level as Shrek 1 & 2, but it’s good in it’s own way. Plus I feel like this movie is teaching a lesson in responsibility.
Edit: By the way, the part where Pinocchio tries to double talk so Charming can’t tell if he’s lying is still one of the funniest scenes in the movie
One of my favorite little parts is after Fionas mother knocks the walls down she sings "my favorite things" and she is voiced by Juie Andrews who sang that song in Sound Of Music
I really enjoyed the third movie. King Harold's funeral made me cry, the songs were great, Donkey and Puss switching bodies was hilarious and the princesses fighting was epic
🎵🎵🎵😢😢😢🔥🔥🔥🤣🤣🤣
Shrek:Well somebody better be dying!
Me:Bad choice of words, Shrek!
Snow White called her an animal to attack two tree guards using Immigrant Song. They were hilarious because it reminded me of Thor ragnarok 😂 😂
Arthur will be a very great king of far, far away.
I absolutely love this movie, even more than 2. The "DADA" at the end of the dream sequence I still quote and think about to this day.
Fun fact: Lancelot is voiced by John Krasinski
35:01 When Lillian gets stund by the wall, you could hear Lillian doing a melody excerpt "A Spoon Full of Sugar" from Julie Andrews' film, Mary Poppins.
35:05 and you could hear her singing "My Favorite Things" from her film Sound of Music.
I like this movie, but the fourth one is my favorite! Shrek's kids are so cute!!! 😍💖
Me too
Fun fact: Guss what Artie and Branch from Trolls have in common? Both were voiced by Justin Timberlake!
Shreks nightmare will always be my favourite part of the movie 🤣🤣🤣
I'm glad Arthur's now the king he's a good guy so he's Fiona's cousin? and also, it was funny that Puss and Donkey swap bodies, lol
Kinda crazy that dreamworks had a movie about rapunzel before Disney.
Arthur looks like a teen heart-throb. It's hard to believe he was so unpopular
My mom tells me I am pretty and the times I decided to dress nice nobody noticed me nor gave me compliments
@johnni-raecalzada2500 Well it's sort of like a mother's duty to compliment her children
Omg I love the third movie so much
If you wanna know what happened to Gingy's wife, watch the Shrek The Halls Christmas Special (it's the perfect time to do it since Christmas is right around the corner!)
This movie should've been a perfect ending for the Shrek trilogy. It doesn't need a fourth movie.
Well the third one was bad so the fourth one redeemed the franchise
36:40 Hey, remember that trailer music from Thor: Ragnarok you like?
Shrek did it!
Branch and Arthur would get along great!
Of course he wants to avenge his mother’s death but fail at the end
Justin Timberlake is awesome
Great reaction you both
When the King Harold's Funeral scene happened is was sad but what makes the scene more sad is that the king was buried in a "Ye Olde Foot Locker Shoebox" instead of a costume made small coffin since he's rich and I can't help but laugh at the minor inconvenience. 🤦🏻♀️😆😂🤣
2:14, and that’s not the only Monty Python reference. They also have Eric Idle (from Monty Python) be a friend to King Arthur and that’s not a coincidence. (John Cleese from Monty Python is also in the movie but that one is a coincidence since he played King Harold in the previous film.)
4:33 I mean, I understand why this was chosen but ironically, clothes were made for the body it was worn although starched collars and ruffs could pose as a challenge.
5:09 this always makes me laugh 😅😂
Donkey: I think that went pretty well
Shrek: Donkey! *Drags him to the door*
Donkey: Oh come on now, Shrek!
Me: Yeah Shrek, Donkey just wanted some cuddle time with you 😂😂😂😅😅😅🤣🤣🤣
17:29, “just say no” is about drugs. The one about consent is “no means no”
There’s a theory that Donkey was one of the kids who were turned into donkeys in Pinocchio’s story. Hence when he actually wore underpants.
Yes, I heatd of it
13:02, it’s also (partly) a reference to the book Shrek! by William Steig wherein Shrek has a nightmare of being surrounded by children who find him cute and cuddly instead of ugly and terrifying
4:11, I think it’s because of how in movies whenever a car drives off a precipice it always explodes (even though that seldom happens in real life.)
Hook confusing people for Peter and Wendy reminds me of Peter Pan 2 where he confused Jane for her mother Wendy. Not sure if that’s in the books or just poking fun at Disney’s Hook.
Hook is voiced by Ian McShane who voices Tai Lung in Kung Fu Panda
@@MultiTcherry😳REALLY?!
@@isaiahadams1208 Yes. I looked at the end credits and I was surprised as you are.
The only Shrek movie i got to watch in theatres , how nostalgic! Thanks, Timothee, and thanks to your fríend as well. Have a happy thursday and God bless you. See you soon and greetings from Colombia to you as well
Prince Arthur and his High School is a separate Dreamworks movie that could’ve been.
10:18, this is why the Puss in Boots movie calls him Fuzzy Two Times
You mean Frisky Two Times?
@@gavinrice2246 You’re correct, I do mean that
A renowned CZcamsr once called Prince Charming "Jaime Lannister" from the iconic 'Game of Thrones'. He also called Rapunzel the infamous "Cersei Lannister", and guess what?
He was right. But I think why Rapunzel was bald the whole time. She got chemotherapy HAHA (I am so, so sorry to all cancer patients reading this). 😂😂😂
20:25 Wilhelm Scream scene.
One of my favorite childhood classic movie! Can’t wait for the new shrek movie in 2 years
2:20 He wasn’t changing the story, that’s how it traditionally goes where the Prince saved the girl from a monster. But since the Shrek films, the roles are reversed and everyone loves the monster now.
The line about Donkey wearing pants sparked a theory he was one of the boys from Pinocchio that got turned into a donkey, hence why he can speak
This is so wholesome! I love both of your energy. Keep it up! 🙌🏾💯
I really cant wait for your reaction to Shrek Forever After.
Next time
13:58, Donkey has his own children with Dragon and honestly especially if you know how it works in the real world that raises the question of “how does it happen?”
I mean it wouldn’t be the last time a question like this was asked
You're right but the scene is funnier in french because Shrek says " I know the manual " and Donkey asks to Puss " There's a manual "
Awesome reaction of my favorite Shrek movie and it reminds me of Spider-Man 3!!!!😊😊😊😊
King Charming
10:11 - At First I was Thinking thats Kitty Soft Paws hahahahhaa 😂😂😂
32:35 no lie Tim, when I was little, I first saw Arthur and Charming in Shrek 3 Poster, I truly thought that “Are they supposed to be father & son?” 😂
That's my First Shrek Movie that I watch in Theaters when I was 6 Years Old! It was a Very Fun movie.
My mom took me in Cinemas after my 1st Kindergarten days and She knows that I wanted to See Shrek The Third.
Very good Tim just one more movie to watch Shrek to complete the trilogy OK. 👏👍✌✋

Sex Education 101
In a wired way I kind of like Charming’s play as a theater kid who worked on sets and props in high school
Also I want to know why Arthur got picked on at school for since my high school experience from the years 2019 to 2023 I was mostly ignored by everyone but my teachers and nobody picked on me for being the smart kid, not following trends, my lack of social media frequency, or being a Sped student
3:11 Charming Always Wants Revenge
42:29, actually got crushed
21:11 and his Whole Life just Flashed before his Eyes.
39:43 - 39:52 I love this reaction in this scene of movie is my part favorite 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
39:44 😂😂😂😂😂
17:47 it’s crazy how dreamworks was able to get away from this
Decent sequel ❤
This one gets a ton of hate but i personally still enjoy it
Same
Me too
Me three
Same here. It may not be on the same level as the previous two but it’s good in its own way
snow white is my favorite part in the whole movie
Out of curiosity and i know the significance of Charmings plan, but isn't he now with Rapunzel who in this context is princess of her own kingdom? So why doesn't Charming go rule that one instead? Does that not count?
Other thing: Why did Arties dad leave him at the school instead of with his Aunt Lillian and Uncle Harold?
21:53 I know. Right? Telling him. " No!! Shut Up!! "
42:23 Charming Still Could be Alive.
6:04 the meme😂
The DVD covers for Shrek the Third said "The Best Shrek Yet"
That's a flat out lie because Shrek 2 is easily the best Shrek
Out of the shrek movies, the second one was the best however this was enjoyable seeing Shrek trying to adjust himself into becoming a parent! Awesome reaction 👍
23:00 Land Ho voice by Seth Rogen.
You should check the Shrek The Halls Christmas special.
i love this movie so nostalgic!
Me too.
I love the Scene that the Dad Die Because how he Die multiple Times 😂
unsure if it’s been mentioned yet, charming and artie look so similar due to it being charmings irl son, and reponzal is hus irl wife
15:52 I'm a Nerd Too. OK? There's Nothing wrong with that.
35:26 I would be pissed if those soldiers took my popcorn
Shrek 3 was awesome 😎
8:17, His last name is Pendragon. The movie doesn’t say how they know that so I assume Lilian told them
Isn’t Arthur related to Fiona on Lillian’s side of the family
@@johnni-raecalzada2500 In all likelihood given that Harold was born a frog
13:25 D A D A
13:25 DADA 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I really don't care what most people say. To me, this movie is great. Not perfect, but after Shrek 2, nothing can really surpass it. I think people just had their expectations WAY too high
My childhood 🤣
It’s good movie Shrek and so funny moments ❤️❤️❤️😂😂😂.
