    Springbar makes an excellent product, no doubt, and we applaud them for making their tents in the US.
    We never said Kodiak Canvas' manufacturing happens in the U.S., indeed, almost no tent manufacturing does, nor does the production of much outdoor gear in general.
    All we said is that they're a Utah-local company.
    And we love to support other local mom 'n pop companies.

    Very well done!! I’ve had this Kodiak for years...and “love” it!! They are solid, bulletproof quality and for 2 persons...the Taj Mahal for camping!!

    I’m part-time retired now, and have been camping for forty years. Upgrading to a Springbar canvas tent for next year, can’t wait. Happy trails.

    Great tent ! One thing I never understand though. Why do most tent designs have the door sill so high to step over? 6-8 inches is really over kill unless you set up in a stream. LOL. I have MS and still love to go camping. I have so much trouble with that high door step being a tripper for me and it's not even necessary. I would buy one of these in a heartbeat if it wasn't for that one thing.

      Purely a weather-proofing thing. I was in an MSR Hubba Hubba 2-man tent on a canoe/camping trip with a buddy when the rains hit hard. We were on a flat spot with a hard packed, dry hill next to us. The flash flood hit the tent violently and it started filling up. An 8" lip would've been welcome that day!

    Has this tent stood the test of time? I have purchased numerous tents and none have withstood Texas heat, backcountry cold and our rainstorms. Is this one durable and worth the money? Out of every tent I have looked at, this one seems the most promising. Is it really that good?

    Not mentioned in the vid is the fact that many of the features shown are not included in all models. The tent in the vid is the deluxe model which comes at a premium price. The vents, extra windows, storage pockets and roll up storage bag are not included in the basic model. I think that tidbit should be mentioned somewhere in the vid.

      Would also need to worry about the floor Im guessing. Either cut out a section of the floor or youll need some sort of barrier so you dont melt the floor.

    • @nokomarie1963
      @nokomarie1963 Před 9 lety

      leo ll Buy a winter tent. You would have to cut both the roof and the floor on this one and ruin the resilience.

    • @garyo4456
      @garyo4456 Před 5 lety

      leo ll - I use an Olympian Wave III catalytic heater that is very efficient, safe and warms the tent in any conditions! Early on I used the Mr. Heater-Buddy and it too worked fine. Many a time in winter conditions I’ve taken an outdoor shower in freezing conditions and then raced to the warmth and comfort of my Kodiak home!!

      @@thedaventure don't Vit the floor, you might get water inside the tent. Just get a flame retardant tarp or tiles or a metal heat shield pan for the floor big enough to catch ash!!

      @nokomarie1963 Před 9 lety

      lore1177 A fit young woman who bench presses 80# could set that tent up alone without too much practice. The tent is mostly stance and organization but it really takes me to act as the 50+ year-old organizer and coach while my two (under 30 year-old and very fit) daughters stake and raise the tent correctly in under twenty minutes. Even so, it's a work out. This is a great tent but no pop-up.

    Maybe next time the guy inside the tent can keep his pants pulled up around his waist like a professional so we don't have to see his nasty ars and nasty looking skivvies.
