    This is my second review of an anni product and once again you can see they have invested some good money into their branding and design making their product box look simple and appealing. The box contains 4 X 720p or 1MP, IP66 weatherproof bullet style wireless cameras. There is also a Network Video Recorder or NVR included in this kit with a 1TB hard drive. Kits are available without the hard drive, but I wouldn’t recommend spending the extra $30 for the included storage since that hard drive failed for me. I would buy it without the drive and install your own. This is a standalone system and no Internet connection is required unless you want remote access. Also, no PC is necessary as the NVR is your user interface into the device. You will need a monitor or TV however with an VGA or HDMI port, especially when setting this up first.
    We unbox the camera and show everything which is included. I then review the specs of the NVR and the cameras. Next, we plug the camera into a monitor and setup a password, update the date, format the hard drive and verify the NVR is continuously recording. Once the live feed is visible, we download the mobile app and get this working on my phone. The app is called IP PRO and we set it up to view the footage.
    Next, we place the camera is various locations (inside and out) and review the signal strength and review the live view footage during the daytime and nighttime. Overall, it’s a good system and a great price for a starter system but does have some connectivity flaws and the user interface is a little clunky. I tested it out on a -30 degree day and the cameras worked perfectly. I was quite impressed they could stand up to the super cold weather.

    That's one of the best videos for these surveillance cameras! I have 2 of these working at home and i can say they work exactly as you described, with all those bugs. But just to make an point: For someone who lives in a very crowded 2.4GHz (like myself), i recommend to use channels 13 or 14. If one lives in a very strict 2.4Ghz channels usage like USA, just use those cameras connected through ethernet cable instead of wireless since you'll surely get still images. Regards.

    your channel is a life saver. I have had 1 break in into home, 1 into car, 2 slash tires and 1 horrific keying. I am most probably going on the expensive side. My question sir is, I need to capture footage from about 40 feet. I live right next to a street. I also want the camera to be hidden to catch the person that has been doing this. Do you have a recommendation. (my plan is to use my attic vent to stick the camera out and somehow point it downwards). Would be grateful for a recommendation. Thanks

    Has anyone else been having a lot of trouble trying to connect with the ip pro app? I have a slightly different system with 8 cameras that I bought on eBay for around $500 in 2019. It seemed to work okay for a while but about 6 months ago or so, the app always says offline. I have to swipe down to refresh but it might take 20 times before it works, most of the time it doesn’t work. There is no technical support for the system as far as I can see. The system is pretty much useless at this point. Is there another software or app that works with this system?

    What's the point of having a wireless camera if you still have to run a wire to them for power? Aren't there any solar wifi cameras available that interface with an NVR?

    • @HomeTechDIY
      @HomeTechDIY  Před 2 lety

      The are lots of other options for truly wireless cameras. Running power to a camera is more reliable and will allow for continuous recording, instead of just recording is detected by a PIR sensor. I prefer to avoid wireless if I can because the image quality of wired cameras can be higher and there is less lag.

      Birds, moving leaves, bees, spiders will confuse the motion detection in most cameras. False alarms can be a pain. Flies set mine off daily. As for the issue of the camera not picking you up, I am not sure why. How far away from the camera are you before the camera's motion detection is triggered? I don't see the expected range in Anni's specification either.

    • @HomeTechDIY
      @HomeTechDIY  Před 4 lety

      You can access the NVR and it's cameras through the RJ45 which is connected to your network and therefore connected to the internet. If you are on the WiFi, with your phone, you can connect to the NVR and see your live feed and playback. I am not sure exactly what you are asking or trying to do.

      I have not tested it, but I believe the Anni NVR supports ONVIF. You would need to configure the IP addresses so the NVR and cameras can communicate. I'm not sure either, if its processor can handle a higher resolution than the 1mp cameras which are included.
