- Marcheta, a beautiful ballad composed by Victor Schertzinger and sung by tenor Victor Marchese. A sad and haunting love song, sung with great ease, power and grace by one of the 20th Centuries best vocalists, Victor Marchese.

Arguably, the most haunting melody and ballad of all time. This wonderful singer only confirms my bias. Thanks, to whomever captured this beautiful video and peerless singer.
I remembered this song from an old John Wayne Movie. It was one of my mother's favorites. I had been looking for it for a long time but I was spelling the name wrong. This is an almost unbelievably beautiful performance. It has birghtened an otherwise difficult day. Thank you for sharing this.
I hadn't heard this version. I think it's my favorite!
almost always moved to tears when hearing my uncle sing...
A sad and haunting love song is right! I've been "haunted " by this beautiful song ever since the first time I heard the instrumental version of it on the movie, They Were Expendable many years ago. I love it even better now with the lyrics and sung by Victor Marchese. Thank you so much for sharing
Beautiful voice! You must be very proud, thank you for sharing!
I play this song often it haunting melody touches a deep level within me as I know it does with many others
Reminds of the Philippines so far from home a beautiful live song for a hart who longs for his true love back home God bless
Wow, I love it.
Marcheta James it is stunningly beautiful. You have your very own song.
The song was used in the movie "They Were Expendable", starring Robert Montgomery and John Wayne, circa 1945. John Wayne and Donna Reed dance to it.
and it is amazing
It was an instrumental version......
My mother was Marcheta, named from this song in 1940, do you know the year he sang this, as I think Bing Crosby ' s version is the one he heard it, but I like this version even better!
Thank you Candice! This is a personal favorite of mine. My biggest hope is to hear it as part of a movie soundtrack someday.
It was played in "They Were Expendable."
Really Lovely!
my teacher was Marcheta and she is very VERY crazy
