Eines meiner Lieblingsvolkslieder. Das konnte ich um 1972 gar nicht zugeben, auch nicht, dass ich Heinos Stimmer damals fantastisch fand und auch seine Lieder insgesamt. Als damals absolut linksradikal Durchgeknallter war das schwierig in Einklang zu bringen. Heute liebe ich Heino, Ronny und viele der Volkssänger! Heino wird immer besser! Mein Lieblingslied: Jenseits des Tales!

What Heino sings are mostly no real traditional german folksongs and they don´t bear any kind of wisdom or message. They are fake. These songs mostly are about how good everything was in the old days, about comradeship or the mountains/the sea and some of these they are combined with some lewd allusions content. All these songs are merely comercial and address simple or even narrowminded people who grew up under authoritarian rule and with no artistic/academic/intellectual/philosophical background. Heino (who is west german) and his stage performances aswell as albums were fortbidden in socialist German Democratic Republic (East Germany) since he sang "Schwarzbraun ist die Haselnuss" a song that´s really conservative to the roots and that was and is sung by Nazis.
