      I’m not buying Starbucks even though it’s likely undervalued. I realized Starbucks is facing too much competition, especially in China. The Chinese coffee makers (eg Luckin coffee) are selling very cheap coffees. I’m a bit bearish on Starbucks. I just don’t see Starbucks has any growth catalysts now.

    Your work is amazing. 👌
    Not sure about global expansion... Starbucks is expensive and I know not everyone is ready to pay their prices... I saw burger king, subway go broke in my country...
    China will be key for their growth.

      Yeah, China is the most important market for Starbucks. Many people are drinking coffee there now. It's still underpenetrated.

    How is starbucks doin in China in ur experienced life, not what the numbers say?

    • @TheIntelligentInvestor
      @TheIntelligentInvestor  Před 4 měsíci +2

      I haven’t been back to China for many years. But I know they have many coffee shops (eg Luckin Coffee) selling much cheaper coffees than Starbucks there. I think that’s the biggest problem for Starbucks. Consumers are cutting back their spending on premium coffee like Starbucks and there are too many coffee shops selling cheaper coffees especially in China.

    What's the good price to buy TSM stock Victor? Thanks

    • @TheIntelligentInvestor
      @TheIntelligentInvestor  Před 6 měsíci +2

      Not advice. But personally, based on my Intrinsic value calculation, I think its fair value is at around $127/share, so I would buy it below that. But the intrinsic value does increase over time as TSMC earns higher revenue/earnings and recovers from the recent chip downturn.

    It's not undervalued if its moat is being attacked. It doesn't have the brand recognition in China and the fact that store numbers are going up but but they're having to reduce ticket pricing is concerning. Back in the 90s they were relatively unique but today how many competitors do they have all over the place providing frapa-dapacinos?
    It's a race to the bottom. I'd only be interested if it significantly dropped, I also don't like the fact that they had to completely change guidance and their absurd comments around limitless potential for Starbucks' brand, if that were the case you wouldn't be squeezed on price like you have been. That's another major red flag about them. There are better opportunities in the market especially around companies that relate to B2B infrastructure supplies as the Bead act and inflation reduction act begin to unwind funds in america that will be a major tailwind for the next 5-10 years.
