    I'm blind now, but I have never forgotten my time as a young oarsmen on the Thames, here in London back in the early 80's. Poetry in motion was how I'd try describing the feeling of moving well in a boat to those who would care to listen.
    I believe rowing helped form my character and the person I am today. I may be blind, but my mind often wanders back to those heady days when I'd watch the puddles slip away on a glass like surface and hear the boat singing beneath me.
    That's what made me and keeps me going today.

    The pride my oldest and dearest friend has for her Grandfather and for his tradition of superlative craftsmanship is so evident in his motto, "Harmony, Balance, Rhythm". When thinking of the craftsmanship of Mr. Pocock, his motto could also be used with Vacheron-Constantin, and Patek Philippe timepieces; superlative design, impeccable, harmony, and perfection in balance. Mr. Pocock believed that all things could be found through rowing harmony, balance, rhythm; the wholeness and totality of immersion in the sport, the unity of teamwork, and personal endeavour as a lifetime philosophy.
