      Biden is the worst president ever
      Two wars have almost broken out in the world since biden was elected. Its his first year.
      There will be terror attackings this year and probably next.
      Biden is weak and pathetic and stronger countries see this and test what they can get away with.

    Daryl Davis is another black man with an amazing KKK story (or stories)

    As a fundamental Christian, I can say with all confidence, kkk are NOT in any way shape or form Christians. Just because someone says they are Christians doesn't make them Christians. As Christians we are called to love EVERYONE, love the sinner, hate the sin. We can love people and still tell them they are on their way to hell. Not out of hate, but out of love, because we were all on our way there at one point. The only way out is accepting Jesus Christ as your Savior and repent of your sins. Praying for anyone thats reads this! ❤

      Technically the KKK and people like them sometimes believe that black people are not related to whites and whites are specially created. While obviously wrong (e.g how do mixed-race people work?), it means blacks technically don't count as human so that rule and others such as do not murder don't apply to them. It's stupid, but at least theologically self-consistent, if not consistent with reality.

    This happened so many times, most didn't get this far though. No doubt these great people will be listed in other comments.
    My favourite will always be Stetson Kennedy though, the clan was still massive when he stuck it to them and you could argue that's what started the mass membership decline. Though numbers had already started to decline.
    Plus..... more than anything has since it shows how something popular can be used for genuine good and world change.

      Stetson Kennedy was great and he used his findings in a very interesting way. Radio was the mass medium of it's time, so him creating a series of audio plays was awesome. I read somewhere that even a high-ranking member of the Klan once complained that his kids were reenacting one of the audio plays when he came home, with Superman being victorious over the KKK-member.

    There is an excellent TED Talk video where Aron talks about this experience. (Which was the first time I heard of Ron’s story)
    He even displays the KKK robe that he was gifted by the Grand Wizard at the time, same thing with his “membership card” in the speech. I’m pretty sure Ron wrote a book about his experience as an undercover cop!

    This is genius! the guy is an absolute legend 😂😂 but the cross burning always confused me - surely that would be blasphemous as its the symbol of Christianity - though quite why they wear a symbol to remember the way their messiah was killed in the first place is baffling too as Bill Hicks pointed out.

    • @petehill7280
      @petehill7280 Před 2 lety +5

      The burning cross thing was something which originated with the Scottish clans-- a man on horseback would ride through the countryside in times of trouble, carrying a burning wooden cross in hand, in order to rally the members of the clan to arms.

    • @woelmer3457
      @woelmer3457 Před 2 lety +7

      Wearing crosses, is to remember that Jesus died and paid the debt for our sins, it's a symbol of victory over death. But i have no idea why a christian would be part of this though!

    • @markadams7046
      @markadams7046 Před rokem +3

      The cross burnings first appeared in D. W. Griffith's "Birth of a Nation.' The film which made the KKK appear to be the heroes was popular amongst the KKK and prompted them to start the tradition of burning crosses. Before this movie, they didn't do cross burnings.

    A lot of the K K K were also high ranking priests of many Christian churches. Knowing this many modern church leaders were undoubtedly trained by them. Even though many Christians would denounce this - the K K K is in fact a "Christian" Religion. and people ask me why I refuse to join any religion :/

      @@A.Martin It's of course typical for one Christian faith to diss all other Christian faiths, and yes I call Catholicism "Christian" as well. If they have a "Christ" in their imaginary tales they are Christian. Even if they decide to call upon the fictional mother of that fictional Christ first, it does not matter. Regardless a fine Christian organization, that was founded on directly violating its own faith, but then again so did all Christian religions originate that way.

      @@thirdplanet4471 It's amazing How Christian organizations will all claim their gawd is peace and love all the while killing people in the process such as these people. While to be brutally honest the K K K , really did not do much worse than what the Christian leaders did in the crusades, the inquisitions, the witch hunts, and so on. These "beliefs" are just the classic Christian dogma of superiority of the past, they just repackaged it a bit.
      Even Hitler did much of what he did for the love of Jezuz and gawd, and regularly praised both. (google "mein kampf Jesus quotes" for some examples)
      These K K K regularly quoted scripture, as they did what they did, making them a Christian organization. and no Killing does not make one not a Christian, for 90% or more bible authors would in fact not be Christians. King James for example killed lots of people and hundreds of alleged witches.

      @@graffffik l'm not going to judge all Christian groups based on what one group has done with the name. However, I will agree that religion has been used to shed blood and commit atrocities but to judge every single Christian for the actions of others and ignore the good they've done is ludicrous.
      But if we want to play the blame game then humanity as a whole is to blame not just religion. Even if we eliminated religion and became purely scientific someone would still fumble the bag and use science to justify their biases. Seriously, religion is not the only thing used to do bad things as we've seen how easy it is for people to latch onto an any ideology and use it to excuse their bullcrap. Look at communism and the non religious wars that have also shed much blood.
