  • Revolvers offer a lot of advantages that semi auto pistols just don’t. Simplicity, reliability, ruggedness, power, and perhaps the best of all, versatility, by virtue of the fact that they are chambered in rimmed cartridges.
Rimmed cartridges tend to have a longer case than rimless cartridges, which makes them highly versatile. Case in point, the .357 Magnum can be hand loaded to much lower .38 Special energy levels or to super hot .41 Magnum energy levels.

Reliability is my reason why I prefer a revolver.

revolvers have been completely obsolete unnecessary for at least 20 years. The .460 Rowland hits just as hard as a .44 mag. If you use the 200 gr long nosed H and G #68 mold to case bullets out of "non-lead" solder (95% tin) the bullets weigh 140 grains and you can safely drive them to 1600 fps in a 5" barreled , 8.5" long 1911. They will completely penetrate a big Hereford bullets chest. and have almost 800 ft lbs. A 4" barreled m29 .44 mag is 9.5" long. It can't deliver more than 800 ft lbs and does so only with 180 gr bullets. Put a 6" barrel in the Rowland and you gain 100 fps.
Revolvers, as defensive weapons have been obsolete since at least the advent of the Browning Hi power, in 1935, and probably since 1911., actually. Snubby .38's have been obsolete at least since the advent of the 6" long, 15 oz Star DK .380, in the early 60's. You can safely hot load an 90 gr, hollowbased, soft lead hp to 1300 fps in the 380, for 350 ft lbs and reliable expansion of the hp, far more power than any .38 snub load, 2 more rds, faster repeat hits and it lies MUCH "flatter' in a velcroed-in, Kydex front pants pocket holster, which is where your EDC should be, at all times, except when you wear it in a chest or shoulder rig, for sleeping.

This has to be some key-word IA generated comment crap.

There's a lot of revolvers out there for something that's obsolete.
