- Here is a video all about improving your Single Stroke rolls. I have found that the best way to improve your singles is by practicing short groups of single strokes. These exercises build strength in the wrists and fingers.
There is an explanation error in the last few exercises. I am playing 16th notes with one hand while playing the 4 note bursts, not 8th notes as I state in the video.

Another fantastic informative video. You’re the man Rick! Always come to your videos when I’m looking to work on something.
Hi Rick, could you do a video on your teaching experience with Joe Morello? cheers Al
Rick you are a great Master ❤
Thank you! Great and useful information
FABULOUS, Rick !!! thanks so much for this. You’re really “laying down the gauntlet” for all of us and leaving us with no excuse… (put in the time or don’t… it’s up to us) but the process & path you’ve laid out is very clear. I’ve been working on the exercises from your double stroke video and it starting helping immediately.
Thanks for all of the outstanding content.
All the best, Rick🤩
Thanks Rick👍

Just found your channel, dig it a lot. What advice do you have for maintaining both grips? Do you work on each on different days, or work on both in a practice session? It’s a lot of extra work keeping both together.
I practice both daily. Over time, they will both become very confident, and you will pass beyond the development stage. Then it's a matter of maintenance as you age. Be patient as it takes a good bit of time to become proficient at both grips.
What sticks are you using in this video?
