They need to sue the police dept and court system for not being up on the current laws.
Courts acted immediately. Police are the ones who did not act. Have to wonder why no one told them to contact a local or state rep. or legal aid. I'm sure there are lawyers who would have helped them out pro bono.
@Blob Monster the police can be sued for removing them....research squatter's rights in your state.....
The police? Maybe. What about the criminals? They need to be dealt with in the harshest terms. This kind of shit will never happen to me. Never. It's MY house. GTFO.
@@brendamills13 They didn't need to remove them, but they could've definitely told them to file the emergency squatter-in-my-home (no idea what it's officially called) paperwork so they could see the judge the next day and have them evicted. Telling them that they had to evict them as a landlord does was erroneous.
The first story brought anger, and this one brought tears to my eyes.
This. Veterans needs. Help
Thank God For. Helping. Them.
My heart goes out to this family, the kind gentlemen who donated their furniture, and the news station❤. This country needs to fix this legal law to steal homes. This squatters rights and Adverse posession pandemic needs to be addressed by our new governments staff.
It was addressed in their state. Police just didn't know about the new law for some strange reason.
contact your state atty. general.....then, you will need to collect petitions / signatures of homeowners....the squatters rights law was enacted in the 1800s......it is a law on the books.....citizens will have to collectively exhibit their interest in it.....God bless....
everyone is blaming the police.....they cannot remove squatters UNLESS the breakin is witnessed & then the police can arrest them....citizens need to contact their state atty. generals and file to get the horrific law off the books.......it is not a policeman's job.....CITIZENS get on it.....whining has never changed a law.......ACTION Y'ALL.........
What a great story that never would’ve been heard if it wasn’t for this reporter who cared enough to follow through. We need more people like all of these involved helping each other....
Shame on law enforcement for not knowing and enforcing the laws. This family could have been spared so much hardship had they done their job. Thankfully, the community stepped up.
It was super new but as homeowners you are supposed to know your rights too. When the time comes I will be in the know about all the laws in the area we will set up permanent residency. That is important too. Then you can fight in courts for what is yours.
Jump in a lake Brenda, come squat in my house in rural maine and see how the law won’t be able to find the remains of your body.
That’s amazing!!! This is a happy ending that restores my faith in humanity!!...
Oh those men are so awesome for donating furniture oh that makes me so happy
Thank you for your service and thank you for your caring and helping this family and this veteran
Humanity is not lost...beautiful story
Good on you Thomas for donating the furniture! What beautiful people you and your partner are! ❤
Thank you to Thomas and Ross Auction, The Food Bank and the New Channel for their generosity. Now, if Walmart’s would pitch in, that would be really nice. Setting up a Go Fund Me Account would have been great too.
Thank you to all who stepped in to help this Vetran get his family back on their feet..a wonderful story..
Even the toughest people had to get a few tears at the story's ending
every combat vet I met in the Marine Corps was always the first to cry, including me.
Im so happy to hear this! Those squatters will never be able to rent or get a job again. Keep showing their faces!
They weren't "renting" and it doesn't sound like they have jobs. Why start now?
Thank you, God. Thank you to all these wonderful and generous people.
lord i hope they cleaned that place and sanatized it
From the looks of it, the family moved back in first. Considering that getting them inside was so important in this case, I suppose it makes sense.
@@lyndagruen2047 And I'm sure they will sterilize the bedrooms first. But yeah it was really important to get them in so no one else takes over.
Too bad people couldn't have helped them clean it before the furniture went in but it was so important to get them back in there.
Nice story for a change. I’m happy they got their home back. The two guys that supplied all the furniture 🪑 and money 💴 are hero’s as well.
Thank. You. For. Helping. The. Family. God. Bless you. All. Amen.
These two men are wonderful may God bless them and everyone else that help these people get their home back, food in their pantry, and the gift card... May God bless all of you.🙏🏻
What happened to this family was horrific and made worse during a pandemic. This shows how much good people have in their hearts and what a difference we can make in each other’s lives.
Wow, Jason and Thomas are what every human on earth should strive to be
Thanks for helping a vet.
Omg this news station and presenter is a star ⭐️ I can’t imagine cnn doing this , and that furniture bloke and food donations also the viewers that helped , it’s restore my faith in humanity ❤ x
Thanks to this man for his service to his country .
I love when good things happen to good people.
Ross Auction in Colorado Springs deserve all the recognition for this. I'd encourage anyone reading this to leave them a glowing review.
Good for you, KOAA, and the great people of Colo Spgs. Years ago KOAA had a consumer help program called “5 & 30 Can Help.” I was privileged to volunteer as a consumer counselor. We were able to help many area people solve their on issues by taking appropriate steps. Once in a while we or the station stepped in. It’s good to see KOAA still committed to serving their community. We’ll done!
God is good 🙏🏾 Amen I'm so happy for him and his family and wish them many more blessings to come!!
why the fuck didn't your god stop the squatters from squattingin the first place? fuck you!
This is how we support the people who protect us. Bless the people who stepped up .
Bless you all 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
God bless every single person that made this possible, starting with getting those bums out of there.
This is what news channels should report about more. Spread good deals more...
It’s wonderful that they were helped with furniture & other things they need!
I hope this increases business for Thomas and his hubbys business. What great company. Also that is a great reporter. He worked so hard to help them.
Thomas, you and your husband are wonderful human beings.
Can the news just do stories like this all the time. I swear if news just becomes competing for who can help the most people in need I’d watch that WAY more than most of the content that’s on today. Good work!
Awesome. Thank You to those who helped.
What about a cleaning service or maid brigade? What about new carpet and flooring?! How about a new refrigerator? A new sink and disposal? Material foods are needed yes but also safety and functioning infrastructure. No contracting firm to help with carpet and flooring, locks and lighting? No HOA or Condo Association helping out?
Well I'm sure they will figure that out. I just know that after this they won't trust any contractor to come into their home with no one present to handle things. That last lady was a type of contractor that does organization and she did some serious damage. They also went to court and I'm sure they will get the money for repairs from that.
totally agree. i would have volunteered to paint. they need money for repairs and flooring.
No one needs a trash disposal, it's a first world item. It's not a need, though laminated floors would be nice.
I was in tears seeing what real love is out there.. praise you God.
So sad that disabled veterans have to come home to this. Makes me cry.
Sounds like a bunch of us veterans should get together and help this brother in arms get justice...
Well done everyone, Thanks Ross Auctions and the food bank. Do hope someone gave that house a spring clean and checked for needles...
Thank God for All the help they. Got.
God this family and thank you for serving our country 💕😊
We all should aspire to help people like this, volunteer and help people in need
I love a happy ending! Sending hugs from Oklahoma City, a former Colorado Springs resident.
Thank you, Eric Ross, Ross auctions Care and Share food bank for helping this veteran's family
Squatting should not fall under civil court. This is outright lawbreaking. It's stealing, destruction of property, etc. Thank you for helping this family.
That is such a happy ending to this story. That news station and the furniture guys are awesome people!
Thomas you and your husband are amazing people. Thank you from the wife of a disabled veteran.
Eric Ross is more than a top notch reporter you sir are a great American.
Thank you all for helping this family may God bless each and everyone of you
Give this reporter a raise and promotion!
God bless you all for helping that family
Eric , thank goodness for people like your self sir 👍 and i know nothing about you or these people, but god bless you and your blessings to this family
Thank goodness to the man and his husband for the furniture! may good karma go their way
Wow, hard to watch and believe. Very good to see respectful citizens chipping in to support the family. How can such indignity happen in the USA in this day and age?
Hell of a news man.... WOW... Great. .kind heart...! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️💯💯💯💯
Beautiful story with a happy ending
This family got so lucky, bless everyone involved in solving the problem that the law refused to do.
It's the trouble we have with being too 'nice' and not having the ability to stand up for ourselves.
thats the best thing i heard in a long time. so happy to see the kids get a bed 2 sleep on and food 2 eat
Im not crying 😢 you are sweet girls made me smile
Glad ur reporting help this people having faith in humanity! Thank for this piece!🤗
God Bless Eric Ross and Ross Auctions, wonderful people who held to their word. It's nice to see some justice........
Bless you all may the Lord bless you Eric it's Jamal from Bahrain 🇧🇭
God bless you all 🙂
Very encouraging! ⭐️ Triumphant outcome ⭐️
Thank you for not dropping this and just moving on to other things.
That's Awesome!!!! Let's keep giving!
From tragedy to triumph :) All the people who helped, from the very generous to the ones who could only offer prayers, turned a sad story into a lovely testament to the kindness we are witness to here. So happy they had a great ending to their ordeal
God Bless the couple who donated all that furniture, Simply Amazing Hearts of Love. God bless the Food Bank who made sure this family was stocked with so much food, such a blessing. God bless Channel 5 News and everyone who helped this sweet family. I just watched the first half of this and was so upset but the 2nd half is so wonderful and restores our faith in human kindness. God bless this precious family and may they thrive and have peace in their homes and lives.
But notice how the father didn't even thank the gay couple for the furniture. He got teary eyed over a wall Mart gift card ...
The furniture would have cost few thousands .. homophobia
I actually cried. This was such a good ending. I’m trying to stay focused on that and not dwell on who put them in that situation and how she did it. I was ‘homeless’ with my 2 young children due to a fire and I know how it feels to sit in a motel and feel as though you have no control over the situation you are in. I’m so glad I came across this story and then this follow-up. Great news story and great job sharing the knowledge you have to people who needed it which helped change their lives for the good.
we are not a country divided and this is proof. great news story ....the more we help each other the stronger we become.
Good to have people like you eric
Thank god for those men. What an amazing thing for them to do and for the food. This is the kind of thing that needs to happen in more communities. The news team saved these people from a horrible fate and they should be commended for all their hard work.
I'm crying this is so beautiful, the people who helped are so kind this world still do have angels
So glad they are back in their home ! God bless that family!
Thank you to the entire group of people that made me feel better about humanity tonight. I cried but not for sadness and a feeling of hopelessness due to my own situation. I cried because my heart burst when the kids got toys. We take things for granted often but those girls will remember when they were gifted with so much joy.
Thank you Ross Auctions, Care and share food bank and Channel 5...
The greatest 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
I
Canadian here. I have never heard of this happening. It's hard to believe that it took so long for them to get assistance.
Great follow up. Hope life is getting back to normal for the family.
It’s Good to see that some people still have a caring heart in this evil world God Bless them and God Bless America
God bless u guys!
well done to all.mr.ross god bless you as you did you're bit too.
Folks, this could happen to anyone... scary. I just saw this in 3/2021 .... thank God for generous ppl!
Nice to see a news outlet follow up and actually help out (ross auction and food bank)
Great support and help!! Good people!
I’m glad they got so much help!
This absolutely is so wonderful and wondrous how beautiful the community could be. God bless all of you.
🙏Bless all that helped
❤️❤️❤️❤️ God bless every human angel who cared and helped.
I am so glad!
God bless you every one helped this family and gave them hope again.
God bless all the people that helped them
THANK YOU to ALL who helped this Man and his Family try to regain their 'normal' again. It makes my heart swell with pride knowing there are still people out there who selflessly care about others and will do what it takes to try to make the victims of crimes, lives alittle easier. Bravo!
So nice of the people to help out. Hope that community see’s that and supports the business of these kind caring people!
You guys are the best👍🏻
I can't believe someone can just steal your house in this country.
They need to be held accountable. How are they allowed to destroy property and just walk away? There may be other ways to remove the dregs of society and remember, the garden always needs fertilizer.
I wonder who would have been stuck with the property taxes during those 6 months. The owners still had to pay the mortgage 😕
@@MJones-ep8hf the owners were working two jobs I believe to keep paying on it.
Thanks to libtard laws
Not just in your country - it happens here in the UK and costs the homeowners thousands and thousands just to get them removed. Then add on the clean up money, fixing things. Its horrendous. And in most cases - the squatters go free to find their next victims.
