      $5k _total_, before splitting among roommates. This is not an unexpected rent price for a nice 3+ bedroom apartment/house in University City, unfortunately.

    It sucks because when we applied they promised housing for all freshman and then lied about it

    Same issues. 20 years ago as a UCSD student I used to rent a couch to sleep in for a discounted rate. It was fun though.

    If all the bright minds at UCSD cannot solve housing problems, how can we have a future? If there's a will, there's a way, they just ignored the problem. This will stressed out students instead of focusing on studying.
    Lucky when I was attending MSU, we had planty of dorms on high rises and graduates Apt near campus.
