Ok, thanks. I was really curious about that. I hope they stay in the ATV market for a long time. I'm content with my 06 YFZ, but I was definitely planning on the SX being my next quad after I finish school.
So basically "KTM sucks" because they are a little pricier than the Japanese offerings and you don't like the way they look?
KTMs cost more because they are worth more. They come with much better equipment from the factory, things you would upgrade on your bike/quad anyways.
Races do depend on the rider, but having better tools for the job make the job easier.

2010 KTM SX doesn't have headlight nor brake light already. In this video they're talking about the 2009 version.
I love my 505. Lot's of power and i love the build quality of it, plastics, nuts etc
But what i like most is the weight, it's very light and nimble :)
DS450 is also very light and great power.

i got the 08' ktm 450xc and i love it its like endless power and smooth landing on any jump doesnt madder how u land its sooo smooth but i want to put a fmf 4.1 slip-on and a fmf mega bomb header with a hinson slipper clutch then it is truely a race ready quad!
@quadshow...maxxis razrs+hydraulic clutch+douglas wheels+magura brakes+one of the best motors ever built by ktm+i can go all day dude...it equals a race ready bike!!!!

@yzkx711 True Polarid does use ktm engines.They are the same engines found on the 450 and 525XC.KTM RFS based engine.They are long stroke lower revving single overhead cam engines.This engine in the SX is a short stroke,high revving engine with dual overhead cams.
@Rocky2474 yes they do but you can buy a twist accelarator if you want to.
EXPENSIVE, that kinda sums it up. that's why there's a lot of back stock on these at my friends store.
@corified they are both fun to ride, both have their pros and cons
@poulehonda he removes the plastics ecause it makes it easier to see how close you are to people (in my opinion) and they sometimes look better without them on there they vibrate a lot

Launch4 it depends on the bumb and stuff but usally you want both wheels to go up but witg the front suspenion you usally wont feel it much. They corner great. And drift better.
True. Now that I think about it, I would rather have those Fox Float X Evol shocks instead of the Ohlins on the stock KTM.
you can offord them just not 2009 models alot of atv shops have 07 or 08 roll overs that they didnt sell because the were so expensive so they lower the price so they can get them off of the show room floor and get some new ones you just have to shop around a little bit
i'll be buying 2 so maybe i'll just spring for the KTM for myself, and maybe the yamaha or honda for the other one. The KTM sure is sweet, plus i'll see less of them on the trails, which would be cool. I'm sure id' be happy with any of them though.
These bikes are the best in the reviews thats why they never have comparison charts with the other bikes. And the sad thing is im a suzuki fan.
@baii3r really, anyone can ride a bike as well ! they both take skill to ride "properly"! I just don't understand why people think whatever they do has more merit than other things! peace :)
@dodgechargerpower I paid just under 10 grand,,but u got to remember,,this quad is race ready off the floor,,all u need to run gncc events is number plates!

yer like i said six years i have raced ktm's for (125 and 250 and 3002smoke) and have never had a single problem with any of them

@rtg1414 i TOTALLY agree with you,,all im sayin is if somebody wants to enter a gncc event here n there,,you can do it with this quad off the floor,,personally,,i didnt feel like spending the cash for aftermarket stuff AND installing it.

By saying faster i meant it revs quicker than a longer stroke.
The thing is the 450SX KTM motor revs quicker and it's faster than any of the Japanese 450's.
@TheTiMyx the engine is from polaris, not sure about the 450s tho
personally... i like the LTR, but that makes sense because its the only 450 ive ridden
i would love to see this quad with a rc8 or rc8r motor in it
how do you like your 505sx i have a can am ds450xc and its great but i am looking at getting a ktm but i dont know whether to go with the 505 or the 525

Nice ride. One thing I've been wondering with an atv rear swingarm, because it only has one spring for both wheels what happens when the left wheel hits a bump and the right wheel doesn't? Does the left wheel pivot up while the right wheel stays on the ground but tipped on its edge like a live axle, or do both wheels come up? Also what are these things like to ride around corners with no diff?

I agree with all you said but in this specific case the 450SX is faster and revs quicker than the other 450's.
the frame on the ktm looks like they might of used some ideas from the outlaw straight axle
people say quad riders ride quads cause they cant ride bikes bs i ride them because i like them better thats all their is to it

yea i think thats coz its very light and has the same motor as a KTM. polaris use KTM motors. research the specs and you will see this. so you have the same KTM bike but lighter. so im pretty confident the polaris will beat it

does the light always stay on like some ktm bikes or does it have a light switch

I know that, usually don't use this but that was really funny...
and the fact that different companies specialize in different types of bikes...id look at suzukies and maybe kawasakis for freestyle honda and yamaha for racing and ktm or husky for enduro

ktm's had problems back in the early days there very reliable now i have owned one for over 6 years and never had any problems with it

i bet your honda cant beat my 06 450se,dont hate yamaha because your a honda fan,i like honda but im a yamaha fan hands down,what honda do u have and what 450s have u raced an beat,most important wher your proof?
its lighter and faster than any other stock bike and its carburetor system is just as good as the EFI providing that its lighter. it has low center of gravity and its frame is a lightweight chromoly steel. it comes with rear dwt beadlock rims and wp shocks are designed specifically for ktm quad. and besides that it just looks so god damn awesome. but it is to expensive ill give you that
Yea the KTMs are bad ass dont get me wrong, but my advice would be instead of droppin 14k for a new ktm out the door, drop 8k on a brand new YFZ450R and then put 4-5k into it. Youre gonna have a nicer bike with more mods and fuel injection. Plus you already know yamis since you got one. JMO

@madmattressiv try riding trails with a dirtbike, way harder then with a quad, and in sugar sand, way harder on the bikes, then quads

@E46MRider First off Polaris doesn't make the outlaws anymore 2010 was the last year of production on them and Polaris started using KTM engines before the outlaw had one in it Polaris was going to buy into Ktm to keep the company going and eventually buy them out but now its just a partnership with ktm and they still use ktm motors in other wheelers an they also use Fuji engines and if you don't no who they are its a subdivision of Subaru, If it wasn't for Polaris ktm wouldn't have made an ATV

@najobe1 jumping is simple just floor it and lift up when you jump if you dont youllflip forward and land on your head for cornering just hang your ass off the seat and put it on the peggs that will keep it from fliping but dont get me wrong it can still flip but it helps do you want me to make a vid to show you? id do that if you want

Not only that. The motor is faster than the Japanese due to a short stroke and also the intake is better.
@700xxhonda the bike is about 8 thousand, i got it for 6.5

All the rear suspension does is move up and down the axle doesnt move either.
the ktms are nice bikes you do pay more for them but look at all the xtras your geting on the fmf rental bars everything you could ever need
