Pneuma is almost 12 minutes piece that has an interesting meaning and culminating progression that surrounded one strong riff .
Tool is often off my mood, I just have different dynamic but recently I've had a long drive alone (that was unusual, so I was nervous, cuz one thing is to drive to the daycare or to another city, but my case was to drive to another state alone, so ... I turned on the Tool playlist and about 3+ hours it helped me to concentrate, sharpen my attention, so I did't fall asleep cuz it wasn't similar boring noise, so this is not random band).
My expression with painting is jus my way of respond to the sounds..

Best reaction I have seen to my current favorite song. The mental picture I get every time I hear Pneuma is of aboriginal people with painted faces dancing around a bonfire out in the bush. Primal spiritual ritual.
Paint and marker on your face matches my recurring mental picture perfectly! So does the poly-rhythmic interpretive dance with your hands and fingers. Almost like we are tapping into a collective unconscious mind and spirit.
Tool music simultaneously takes me to a higher mental plane and a deeply primal awareness. Profound on multiple levels, challenging us to reach out to all of what we are.

Tool is my favorite band. I've seen so many concerts in my lifetime and none of them even come close to the live show they put on. If you ever get the opportunity to see them live, I highly recommend it.

You start with Pneuma a beautiful song not very famous and i love this, Pneuma is spiritual song , seems like the second part of Lateralus , its like calling out the awarness there is something more than what we see in our ordinary lives and reality, its typically Tool vibes of Spiritualism, Science and Nature and Supernatural ...everything is in Tool concepts !
To listen Tool music watching you painting the face with such inspiration its a great pleasure i felt so long ago and now i want more and more again !

First off Picasso Rembrandt da Vinci Michelangelo never had such a lovely canvas to work with… the spiritual part that stands out to me is the cry for unity… where it says we are all numa born from one breath one word… meaning in order for God to create everything and everyone everywhere he split himself into infinite pieces in order to experience it all … so at our core we are all immortal spirits having a human experience and we need to wake up and treat others as we would want to be treated ourselves… we are all of one spirit 🙏❤️🙏

Hey Yu! Glad YOU are back with another post. Ok I'm not very familiar with "Tool" all I can remember is I bought the Aenema album latter 90's and gave it a few listens. Honestly I didn't get it music wise it seems like one of the ttacks off that album was called stinkfist and I could pretty much figure out the meaning (ewww!) Then not long after my brother keeps hyping the group A Perfect Circle with Maynard and Smashing Pumpkin guy and whoever. Just didn't rock my world whatsoever.Aside from the music they (Maynard) are deep thinking musicians. I saw Maynard on Rogan podcast and he is very intelligent. Anyway maybe I'm just simpleton but this is not my thing (music) but Always adore watching/listening to YOU create your artistic style. The colors you drew on your face(canvas) are beautiful reminds me of a tropical bird in ways.As YOU are a rare bird so to speak. Take Care and have a great Labor Day weekend!☮💜✌

@@andreaburgi481 Cool Andrea I will have to check some of their albums (music) when I have a chance to "deep dive" their material. Thank-you for the suggestion. My brother burned me A Perfect Circle disk years ago will have to try and find it. I hot into Godsmack around the time Aenema album was out. It was progessive sounding and lots of time changes. We are becoming more like machines, directly integrating with them at times, and perpetually being asked and forced to conform and comply.
There is a time and place to just be another random number, a 0 or a 1, in order to collectively reach greater heights.
There is also a time to be the cog in the gears, to question and make sure that the zeros and ones all add up to something that is truly good for the many, and not just good for a few.

And there is an enigma in the description of this video, which appears to be a mathematical equation of some sort? I reference the concept of Sigma above, which is literally defined in mathematics as being one standard deviation from the mean. I have some understanding of mathematics, and yet I am completely unable to recognize or decipher the equation in your description? Shall it remain an enigma -- something open to interpretation, like many of the songs by the band in this video -- or were you merely waiting for someone to ask, so you could then share its meaning?

I cant stand this band. They rarely put out albums and when they do it sounds exactly like everything else theyve done. They never progressed into other styles or changed at all. Some people really love them but i just dont get it.

You should go back and give them another chance man. Their earlier stuff felt like it had more anger in it compared to the deeper kind of spiritual stuff later on. And between the 3 bands Maynard is in he has put out a lot of music down the years, all of it different. If it's not for you that's fair enough, everyone has their own taste and are entitled to it. Just my personal opinion that people owe it to themselves to feel the vibe of this band. But like I said, we all have our own preferences.
I kinda agree with them but i had felt the similar way. I just gave it a few more listens and here we are..
