Aaron without his beanie feels cursed.
@@AaronDukeYT Bald is beautiful. Beanie or without beanie, you rockin' it, big guy.
You know my thoughts, they're taking care of the big creators while trying to make it sound like they care about the small creator, while CZcams is actually making changes that benefit the small creator.
firstly: bald aaron :0
second: i agree, it seems like twitch is trying to do damage control when they in reality don't care, trying to maintain their platform instead of actually doing the right thing, at this rate youtube streaming and other things are definitely gonna take over.
I 100% agree with you, but for a different reason. It's great that they wanna give their big names more support, but when they talk about "helping streamers keep doing what they love", I feel the big streamers don't exactly need help with that, their audience alone keeps them streaming if they have made a good name for themselves, but this means nothing for the small streamers at all. Yes I am a small streamer and I'm totally fine with that, but that doesn't mean I don't wanna get bigger and have a greater audience. The Algorithm is partly what's holding small streamers down, of course the other half is impatience and giving up. Other than that I absolutely agree with your grievances on this direction Twitch is going. Hope you have a great day :)
I'd say you nailed this. It definitely feels like they're trying to pull a fast one.
I agree this sounds like Twitch trying to keep their Elite 1% Streamers and want to trick the other Streamers to stay thinking oh I can do this and don't read between the lines and the fine print.
This should be for all Partners, not just the few who are on the top. Hopefully those on the top do something and stand by their fellow Partners. It's an insidious move that's going to further incense those who are already displeased with the moves Twitch has been making for some years now. They have a lot of clean up to do to gain back the good will they had early in their existence.
3:00 Something that just dawned on me... it says RECURRING which... does that mean that I could gift you 10,000 (of course I cant do that, I wish I could but hypothetically) subscriptions 3 months in a row, and you still wouldn't qualify, as those are not RECURRING subscriptions?
EDIT: Okay, yep. You noticed this too.
“We’re finally putting creators first… on the sacrificial chopping block”
I think there are some really valid points here and gift and prime subs should count because it just makes sense. I think this is the carrot to motivate them to continue to make content. They need to really come out with a clarifying statement about the subs to define that they consider 350 subscription weather it's a 1person per sub or if it does contain all subs as long as they meet it. :/
Thank you as always Aaron.
I’ve been streaming for four years. It took me a year and a half just to hit affiliate. Im still just an affiliate and I agree with you 100%. Twitch isn’t trying to save face or appease the majority of streamers. They’re protecting their bottom line is all they’re doing.
Can't wait next year for Twitch Partner Plus + Remake.
I completely agree with everything you have to say here. As an affiliate, becoming partner just doesnt feel worth it & this "update" makes it seem like twitch is saying screw all the small streamers we only care about the "kings & queens of twitch".
Twitch yet again shows us where their priorities are and it's sad that they again show us it's not worth staying on the platfom. Locking the most benefital payout behind a top % is shameful. Sadly there's not many solid competetors per now, and not many can afford to make the big move to other platforms like CZcams. It's not to make people happy, it's to save their little rep they have left so big streamers aren't leaving.
Twitch: You need to make us monumentally more money in order for us to pay you more of what you make us.
This doesn't feel like they care, it feels spiteful. Like they're a monkey hand. We ask for 70/30 split, we get it, but only if we meet these exorbitant amounts. I haven't been streaming lately due to life matters, but I've been thinking about moving my streaming to CZcams when I'm able to stream again.
Twitch is like an abusive partner, they say nice things like they love you and everything but deep down they wanna see you keep struggling til your gone.
I flinched when I saw Beanieless Aaron. Honestly kind of thought that was part of your skull 😂
You know Aaron means business when he isn't wearing his hat for an entire video 😂
This seems purely like a move to retain their top earning partners, as them leaving the platform has a larger financial impact on twitch's business. It makes sense from that perspective. They don't care as much about retaining partners below 350 recurring subs, as the total revenue from them is harder to predict (one month someone may gift hundreds of subs in a channel, but they aren't likely to do that forever, and there is a risk of it being tied to credit card fraud,) and smaller in scale compared to those who would meet the partner plus requirements.
It definitely sounds like just that, more than 350 individuals need to choose to pay for a sub with their own money..
I don't stream at all I mainly just upload compilation of my DBD play, but every Twitch streamer I know seems to feel the way you and quiet frankly I agree Aaron I love you vidz and hope you come to CZcams full time we would love to have you here
I already left. 😂 But that is also because I’ve been an affiliate for 4 years and just haven’t seen much growth or opportunities the policy changes were enough to get me to hang up the towel. I was on Mixer before Twitch and I am also just scared of where its going.. Id rather get out before something happens. (If something happens not saying it will!) I’m trying Kick out and so far I love it. 💚
I think what they are going to do is swap it around, make it a 70/30 split in their favor and you have to earn the right to get the 50/50 split by hitting the monetary threshold (see 100k).
Like a sales job. Making people hustle.
Money is money - why does it matter if it’s a resub or gifted? I think it should be 50/50 across the board. I personally watch Twitch for the “smaller” streamers - the communities with thousands of viewers are too chaotic and too impersonal for me to enjoy - and I can’t stand that most of my support of these guys goes to Twitch and not them.
*bald aaron jumpscare*
Aaron in the most respectful way I think all of us as a community agree that you should keep the beanie on please
Maybe it's time for people to stop gifting subs and instead click on a donation link where the streamer actually gets the money and then the streamers can use that extra money that twitch isn't taking from them to offer benefits to their community. If gifted sub counts aren't going to be providing a significant benefit to the streamer and their community then there's less of a reason to use them.
I knew it!! Sport that dome with pride my good man! 😀 ok now I’m gonna watch the video
Finally the head sock gets a wash!
My bad. And I just saw it in the background hahahahaha. Love the hat, love the head. Just nice to see a change. ❤
Well.. there goes my dream to get further with Twitch..
Sometimes I think twitch is trying to be nice but doesn't think of the outcome of what that means and even they I hope realize "oh shit" this is kind of a bad move now that I look at it, not everything twitch does will ever be good but the partnership does feel like a cry for help to keep there creators there.
Finally the head reveal
Beautiful man. Nice due .. fresh looking like a king. An dope beard bruh.
Okaaaay... for the longest time I've been, Aaron Duke, gorgeous Red. Head....and now... I'm like, buy me dinner, and we'll see
Ma man looking like dwight
It's weird for me to think that most people go to Twitch for the 'big' streamers. Imo it's all about the medium to small sized that are actually more interesting and actually interactive.
In any case, Twitch is still the best choice for a very small streamer. If say I went to Kik, no one is going to follow me there and even if I were to advertise say on Discord, no one is likely to *make* a Kik account to follow me. People already have Twitch accounts so that's an easier sell.
Big streamers are like fruit trees. Other platforms can take a tree and enjoy it's fruit but until another platform can grow it's *own* trees Twitch has no lasting competition.
For every 'big top streamer' that jumps ship, 10 more make partner and 100 make affiliate. Because ATM Twitch is the easiest place to grow a tree.
Shouldn’t they be considering “gifted” subscriptions as paid? Someone paid for them. Are they actually tying paid subscriptions to accounts? As in 1:1?
I see your point. Sounds like theyre making the big time streamers happy. When you did the match for us I can see why you’d be holding a grudge
😮
I kinda wish i could stream on tiktok because i would rather stream there than in twitch tbh
I'm glad you brought this up. I'm not even partner, but I am affiliate. Reading what you said, it does sound a bit offish, I don't think twitch realising how much damage they have done to small streamers like myself and those who are partnered we all not treated fairly. The changes they made was absolutely ridiculous. I do like the new $50 payout but still from all serious note. Continue what you love doing, stay where you are and just have fun. If people want to move over everyone is welcome to it. But yeah twitch has done more damage for all creators and we all have to tell everyone not to sub only donations to keep 100%. They should have done a lot more. Also if you are deciding to move take all your content across and keep grinding. But I say stay where you are so you don't have to stress yourself over uploading all the time. Thats my opinion, but I don't want everyone to agree or disagree what I said. You do you and if you are happy where you are, keep doing what you love doing and keep going ❤
Did they really have to wait for kick to happen to put the creators first? Rofl
New here so i had no clue you were bald even though your pfp literally shows it 😂 my bad.
@@AaronDukeYT and ill give credit where credit is due you definitely rock that hair style.
Your beanie 😢
I am an "Affiliate" who gets next to no views, haven't grown in followship in a while and haven't had a single Subscriber in 4 - 5 months. Haven't got more than $3.00 in ad revenue so far this year. I'm not really bothered or mad about the situation I'm in, I'm just a little confused since I don't really understand how the system works. I'm just hoping someone could explain how the system works lol!
WHERES THE BEANIE!?
but, where should someone, who would like to start streaming go to? if Twitch is getting worse?
He did a video on this not too long ago and weighed the pros and cons of a couple competitors.
I think it's a good thing, but 350 recurring subs is a bit excessive
I'm a very small streamer ( only a couple hundred followers) if twitch is a bad place to grow and create a community, what do you think is a better site to stream on? I honesty would love some recommendations! ❤❤
They should 60/40 gifted subs
I was gonna say “love your hat btw” like usual, but you aren’t wearing it today 😭
Bro got me like spondgebob "BALD, BALD, BALD, BALD" this is just a joke i love your videos
id be happy to watch you on kick, made an account and im ready for people to start moving!
Great topic but I just wanna rub the head lol 😏😅
who are you..where is Aaron... where is the beanie !???? jkjk
I am leaving twitch ngl, im tired of their shiet
It's hard enough to get to affiliate and then partner.. and now partner+? what's next? Partner + Premium? + Premium Deluxe?
Twitch seems dead set on killing their own platform.
Bro it is to hot to wear a hat man
No you are not overreacting at all. It's more than okay to be critical and wary of twitch. They've already revealed before they can't really be trusted and only care about money in the end. They are like every other big corporation. They may want to show that they care about creators but in the end it's about growth/money. They will do what they think will make them the most money.

Do you think Twitch should have reinstated the 70/30 split for ALL Partners or do you think this is a good first step?
