  • RJM shows you how he uses the Korg Pa5x Chord Sequence Recorder. How you can record your own chord patterns and save them to the library. Also, how the Korg Pa5 can transpose the chord sequence without being confusing.

    Good morning,
    Thank you for your videos. I wanted to know if I can pass chords recorded in different places from one song to another song with the same rhythm without interruption.
    THANKS

    Thank you for putting this tutorial video. Very helpful. However, I have a question ; can we have different chord sequence in CV 1 - CV4? It seems like it repeats the same choirg progression in all variations. Please advise.
    Thanks , Hanif

      In the chord sequencer, you can not. What I do is record the whole song, verses and choruses. Then, you can push the button for whatever variation you want to be played when those cords appear on the screen. The only other way to change the chord patterns is to actually go into the style. If you go into record Style, you can change the key or the notes there. Per each variation, intro, break, fill or ending. Take Care.

    Hi Qui. When you you use the Chord Sequencer on a song it gives you the chords. I see this very well. My question I wishing you can answer is this. When you use this function you cannot use the intro?? It seems when you hit play it automatically starts the chords am I correct or can you use an intro and then hear the chords of the song??

      I am still on version 1.1 just so you know. You can use the intro with the chord sequencer. First, you will have to play the chord you want to start with. Then push the intro 1 or 2 button. Then, push the chord sequence button either on the deck of the keyboard or on the screen. Then push the player 1 button. The intro will start and play with the screen going blank. Once the intro is over, you'll see the chord progression appear on the screen and start the play the sequence. If you push intro 3 button it really doesn't do much. It will just count in 4 beats and then go into your chord sequence. Again I do not know what version you have on your Korg Pa5x but mine is running version 1.1 and it works well. Also remember when you or setting that first chord for the intro to pick up, make sure you have the start-and-stop buttons off. Or of course when you hit that chord the player will start. Take care my friend.

    I would be really cautious about using this thing for a live show doing a one-man band type thing this keyboard is not stable enough for that right in the middle of the show something's going to happen but I don't know what a little bit cuz you can never tell

    • @jonmicheals621
      @jonmicheals621  Před 10 měsíci

      I guess it will depend on what you are doing if the Pa5x will handle it. I use mine for creating soundtracks for the videos I create, and I have not had any problems. And it will be turned on for hours.

    The chord sequencer in the PA 5X should not shut off the lower keyboard at any time and it's still doing it and you know I need to use that thing sometimes cuz I put chords over the top of the sequencer chords I'm always having to reach up and push the lower button like I don't have enough buttons to push I'm telling you this I know that this is wrong if anybody disagrees with me I want to know because my old PA 1000 never ever did that it did all the flaky stuff though like you be recording a good song you got a live version of it on MP3 and then you go to play it back and it's got a big skip in it that used to happen till I found out that I could record to an external drive and it was way better

      Check to make sure the "Split" button is either ON or Off. That will change things. If your having the problems with the lower keys you might have to go to "Settings" and check to see where you keyboard split is, that could change things.

    AGAIN, 2nd update and nothing, no quick record _ editing. 1 year waiting and the kboard sitting there unused since new. . I guess the software engineers are lazy or they can't do it.

      Yes. In my side just ask or tell them, that if ever is going to have software with Quick midi record, I will pay for it, or better not wait for it, all the predecessors have it,
      I am not using it without that, sitting getting old, I use pa4x, the older. Ths. @@alanadee2514

    Now the pa5x The Voice processor in certain settings that I'm using it cuts right out you have to reboot the thing to get it going again the vocals I'm talking about
    I'm using like a high octaves on the Doubler in the voice processor it seems like all the other the regular settings when using the voice processor works pretty good but every so often this thing shuts right down when I'm used to doing certain songs like no voice for no good reason for no good reason other than well you know it's conflicts and operating system problems software engineer problems

    • @jonmicheals621
      @jonmicheals621  Před 10 měsíci

      I don't have much experience with the vocal processor in the Pa5x. But if the whole keyboard is shutting down, I would think there's either a conflict, or you're overdriving the processor. If just the vocal signals are cutting out, then you might just be over driving the preamp on the mic input.
