Bengaluru | Inside the War against Black Fungus | 4 Survivors in their own words | Barkha Dutt

  • From the HCG Hospital in Bengaluru we meet the frontline doctors who are running an entire MucorMycosis or Black Fungus ward in the hospital battling multiple surgeries and a drug shortage over the last fortnight. Doctors here believe it neither industrial oxygen nor steroids that is triggering the lethal infections in COVID recovering patients, but the mutant strain itself
Barkha Dutt reports from Inside the Black Fungus Ward of the hospital where 4 survivors share their personal stories- one has lost an eye, one part of his jaw, one had a brain infection and another a lung procedure.

It is heartbreaking. One appreciates the high level of medical facilities and doctors in the South of India. It is also painful to see that all through this crisis and suffering of two months there has been no communication or interaction of members of the administration with the patients and doctors. One has never come across visits of hospitals And medical facilities by members of the administration to encourage the doctors and enquire about the well being of the patients. Apart from being insensitive it is inhumane. We have lost our soul. I will give you full credit Barkha for working on the ground, in these difficult times, admist the loss of your father. God bless you.

But most of them who suffer is after getting cured of the covid as I too know someone who had it My sister's in laws side . He was quiet bad but recovered and is back home . Wish you all a speedy recovery stay safe , stay blessed.
Barkha I think talking to them at this time is not right, it takes a while to recover sign language would be better or get information from their loved ones who are taking care of them . This report is an eye opener. Bharka has fearlessly gone into an infectious ward to report and expose the facts of black fungus Hats off to all the doctors and the nurses for a job well done. Excellent reporting by sharks. God bless you all andGod bless the patients. So nice to see such positivity
