Oh no. You say that like it's a bad thing...
To this day, the biggest selling point of (the Wii version) of The Staff Of Kings, is that there's a secret code that unlocks a fully playable, complete conversion of the PC adventure game Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis. Indeed, when I bought Staff Of Kings, I printed an alternative fan cover from the internet for a Wii version of Fate of Atlantis, and used that as the slipcase cover instead of the Staff of Kings cover - and to this day that's how it sits on my shelf of Wii games. Fate of Atlantis being an unlockable bonus game is all that makes this worth the purchase, because Fate of Atlantis is one of the best Indiana Jones videogames ever made.

@@shawnfields2369 I was going to for the Han Solo outfit...but then I realized that meant I'd have to 100 percent a game that is NOT fun, so I unlocked Fate of Atlantis and left it at that

I'm sure no one would've played this, other than for a code that lets you play a much better game instead of this boring slogfest that looked like a beta PS2 game on the Wii. I've never seen any of the Indy films, Indy and His Jones 1, Indy Jones 2, Indies John McClane Ness 3, Indeed Jonesy 4, or Individual Jones 5: Dual Destinies. But I have heard that the recent one being so bad that it makes the previous one with Shia Lebouf look good by comparison. And they KILLED off Shia Lebouf! It definitely doesn't make me want to check out the previous 2 movies. Maybe the first 3, but definitely not the 4th or 5th ones...
10:30 A lot of my favorite movies and cartoons growing up were Amblin Entertainment productions, but the thing I've learned to keep in mind whenever you see the company's logo is that if Spielberg's not specifically listed as a director then his creative involvement most likely just extends as far as being an executive producer. Doesn't mean I don't still enjoy a lot of the stuff that's come from Amblin though.
I don't know why I'm still surprised when I hear Ben or Peter say " I haven't watched any *insert very popular film / TV show here* "

I don't go to pubs either, but I guess it makes sense, if you work hard at a job, watching crappy movies that let down even the most casual fandom, and casual fans, doesn't sound fun. Especially with recent movies being completely boring dumpster fiery disasters that belonged in a fiery garbage can, and NOT in a theater. Makes sense.

You guys were lucky to stop just before an extremely finicky portion with awful checkpoints. It ended up making me quit the game.
The development plan sounds a little similar to another Lucas property...
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed had DMM and Euphoria in the 360/PS3 versions and a toned-down waggle-fest with unique modes on the Wii.
Emperor’s Tomb is an awesome game. Loved the environment and the combat could be very fun, if a little repetitive.
I had this on PS2 and the part I remember the most is knock nazis off of a blimp with a piano
They should make a movie based in the videogame.
I like these sorts of WGE (like Lair and THE Sniper 2) where the game is obviously not that great but has some redeeming quality and ambition. The wonkiness is humorous.

Don't feel bad, Ben. I am 38 and haven't watched any Indiana Jones films, well, except the...Crystal Skull, I believe. And, I too, have seen bits and pieces, but...*shrugs* It's cool, mate. I get you. It isn't that you think anything bad about it or disagree with it, you just....never watched them.
I am like that with the Fallout games. Never played a single one. I love those types of games, so....I would love it, I assume. I just...never played them. I also was a Nintendo person up to Gamecube and then went to PS2 and have been with Playstation to this day.
Long winded, I apologize. Point being: Sometimes we just...some great things go over are head.
My last apartment had water issue with soaked carpet like that, disgusting food water flooded from my upstairs neighbor, and it stayed wet forever, with gross spores flying in the air, and the apartment manager was like: just pay to steam clean it yourself, guy, it'll be fine.
But nobody rented steam cleaners and the flood water had chunks of waste pipe stuff from neighbors kitchen sink clog, and i couldn't be happier when i moved out of there because even after carpet dried, if i walked on it with bare feet, my feet would get black stains.

Fun Fact: Tom Selleck from the original Magnum PI, was going to play as Indiana Jones, but due his contract with the tv series, he was unable to take the part. Harrison Ford was second choice.

Eon Productions refused Steven Spielberg’s offer to make a Bond movie because studio founder Albert Broccoli felt Bond was too quintessentially British for an American director (ironic since Broccoli was an American himself). Spielberg was also hot off Jaws and Close Encounters, so he had the clout to demand a level of creative control Broccoli refused to give any director. Spielberg later remarked that by the time he eventually was offered a Bond film, they couldn’t afford him.
I haven't seen the Indiana Jones movies, but I have played every Uncharted game, so I pretty much have.
I know you boys are busy recording lists all day every day, but I am begging you to just please watch a single movie.

The best part of this game is that you could unlock "The Fate of Atlantis" to play through, a much better game.
Why not just play that instead? Well, If it means no longer having to suffer through this crap festival of a game, then it's a good idea. Nobody should play the Wii version of this game. Just the PSP version. Not sure about the PS2 version, but I'm surprised they were still MAKING PS2 games in 2009. And I remember hearing about this game. And then how basically everyone and their mother, brother, and father, ignored it to just play the Lost Indy and His Jones game: Fates of Atlantis, instead.
to answer you guys question the Kings staff was a staff held by the Persian Empire's rulers
yes the persian rulers claimed it was the very biblical staff but lets reql talk i doubt that even existed so just from facts and sciences it belonged to persian rulers not Moses. The latter is based on zero evidence or facts so to me and any science based intellectual of history thats unproven legend nothing more lol

This is one of the cases where it's just awful due to motion controls / due to the platform it is on.
I own the PS2 version and despite being pretty bland and boring for an Indy game, it isn't outright trash as the Wii version seems to be.
I think, story-wise, this game looks like a good addition to the Indy canon. And the graphics are fine for the period, and the voice acting isn’t all too terrible either. It is a real shame they decided to make something that reads, looks, and sounds perfectly good unplayable with incredibly poorly-considered controls. I like my Worst Games to be horrid across the board, a great big heaping of hilarious badness, because I sit here watching this and I think only of what could have been. Like the game taunted us with something really cool, and then put it on the Wii with motion controls.
at the very least there's a ps2 and (albeit a bit different) psp version with no motion controls
There already was a great Indiana Jones Game. Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis. One of the best point and click adventure games ever. Prime Lucas Arts.
Pretty much every other Indiana Jones game is way better than this, be it "The Infernal Machine", "The Last Crusade" (the point & click adventure that came before FoA), Lego Indiana Jones or whatever else...
...but yeah, "The Fate of Atlantis" is not only one of the very best Indy games, but also until this day one of the greatest Point & Click Adventures ever

Munich, THe Terminal, Lincoln and especially Bridge of Spies are all good films directed by Spielberg since the 90's.

Spielberg has mostly avoided giant IP stuff lately, and when he does it its less than great. but he did direct the most recent version of West Side Story. I personally loved that.

It seems as tho this guy and Darkseid are more or less inseparable as far as who is more powerful.
All I know of Darkseid is via Zac Snyder but It’s almost hard to look past his funky, knuckle-ball, eye lasers which exist specifically for the horror they would induce.
I also heard Darkseid can bestow an eternal hex on any given being in which he would kill them however he did in the current reality but would also tag them with a compounding impairment which see’s them doomed to live out an existence which will suffer a worse experience than that which was encountered the incarnation prior.
… which really is as bleak as fuck.

You can absolutely still be excited for Spielberg movies! I'm not sure I would take my recommendations about what Spielberg movies are good or not from someone who hasn't watched any of the Indy movies! :P

You are wrong about Zathura and Spielberg's last good movie.
Zathura was directed by Jon Favreau.
And Spielberg's last well received, successful, and critically acclaimed movie was 2017's 'The Post'.
2022's 'The Fableman's' was great and highly critically acclaimed, but unfortunately a box-office flop.
I still will just never understand how you guys have basically never watched any film ever made.... Madness 😅

@@theresidentalien well to be fair the ds version is an altogether different game, while the ps2 version is the same as the wii but without the unlockable fate of atlantis, and the psp version is roughly the same but i believe has different levels

BTW- I was the one who released the lost novelization. Now THAT’S the best version.

It usually means there are lots of good individual moments/mechanics, but despite that the whole game is somewhat lacking.
I have weird nostalgia for the period in which celebrity likenesses in games were basically a child's papier mache project.

The PSP version is much better and with simple button commands, there is more fun to have.

I remember LucasArt's showing the PS3/360 version at E3 2006. It wowed a lot of people at the time, I remember the demo they showed had Indy punching a goon and the goon falling on the car in several different ways.

Uh Spielberg does alot of amazing stuff. Fabelmans was one of the best of the year. West Side Story is phenomenal and would’ve done better if a controversy didn’t end up attached to it. He directed Tin Tin btw. Of his last 9 films all have been award nominated and most have included numerous wins.
Also Spielberg didn’t do Zathura- that was Favreau…
Amblin and Dreamworks are two of his production companies that he produces under so those productions would likely have his name attached.
