The reason the rupees continue over is he still has the stamp on his hand with how much he gave him. So technically going back in time you would've originally had 0 rupees, but the stamp says 60, Link shows the stamp and the dude is like 'Hey you have 60 rupees, here you go'. Basically Link is robbing the bank every time he goes back in time cause of a hand stamp.

Thats wrong. The Bank guy is aware of time travel and will do anything to support his multi dimensional bank. Because what happens everytime he travels back is that another multiverse is created. He is actually the strongest character ever because not only can he draw rupees from other dimensions, he can also get them from the FUTURE of other dimensions. Essentially he is just a multidimensional time traveler bank.

So, the rationale behind the bank "not obeying the laws of time" is actually incredibly clever. It's a bank, the bank has money in it regardless of whatever money you yourself put in it. Even in real life, when you deposit money and then withdraw money later, it's not the literal same money. So, the only question is why the banker believes you have an account with that much money in the bank.
And, THAT is the reason for the bizarre stamping method of membership. The members have a stamp on them which indicates how much money they have in the bank. Every time you deposit or withdraw money, he restamps you with the new amount you have in the bank. And, every time Link goes back in time, his body is unaltered. Thus, the stamp that indicates how much money he has in the bank remains unaltered. So, he has "proof" that the bank owes him that much money. Thus, he is allowed to withdraw money from the bank despite never having deposited it in the first place.

You need a grabbable object and a damage source. Bombs are perfect because they provide both. Hold Z and the shield button and roll towards the grabbable object. Press A to grab the bomb as soon as the option is available. If you take damage at the same time (e.g. by timing the bomb explosion perfectly), the damage will hit your shield and you'll slide backwards really fast. If you hold the control stick at the perfect angle, then you'll be able to use items and maneuver Link around while still keeping your speed.

Majora's Mask is probably my favourite childhood game. Just for the memories it brought. I was doing speedrunning tricks before speedrunning was that big of a thing. Like when I used to get tired of going in circles not knowing what to do, I'd figure out some precise jumps that just barely allowed Link to grab a ledge, or I'd use a bomb to boost myself over places. My favourite trick I figured out how to do was the Goron pound with the bomb and using it to get over the wall in front of the Great Bay Coast.
I used to think I was a genius, but looking back on it, man I went to some extreme lengths just to achieve something so small.

Not to mention guys the world record is still an entire five minutes less than this run. Not saying Pope did bad, its great for a marathon run, I'm just adding on how in the beginning they were talking about how much time save has happened over the years and you can add a whole 5 more minutes onto it than what they said. And that was 5 months ago, keep it up Pope and snag that record, your optimization will get there and push that time even lower.

I’ve recently got into The Legend of Zelda franchise but I don’t entirely understand the lore or story or how the games all interconnect. Does anyone have a sort of starting point for a new Zelda fan? Which order I should pick them up in if I wanted to play them myself? What console(s) I’d need? Fan favorite must-play games? Ones to absolutely steer clear of, if any? Any sort of link (haha) dump for lore or what have you? Sorry if I’m kinda vague, I don’t exactly know what I’m looking for. Really just anything and everything Zelda related I suppose since I feel so far behind the curve. Any help is appreciated!!

Glad to see a new Zelda fan, you're in for one hell of a game series!
In terms of lore and story, they're all they're own individual, self contained stories, even the rare titles that are direct sequels. Don't worry too much about knowing the lore, everything you need to know will be explained in each game. All you need to know is that Link and Zelda are good, Ganondorf is bad.
I would avoid the first 2 titles at first, the NES ones, not because they're bad, but they can be hard to get into. I'd recommend "A Link to the Past", the SNES title, as your starting point, wonderful game, my favorite. The order you play them in doesn't matter either, as I said, self contained stories.
Zelda games branch over like 8 or so different consoles, so your best bet is an emulator for the older titles.
      Fan favorites would include:
      -A Link to the Past
      -Ocarina of Time
      -Majoras Mask
      -Wind Waker
      -Twilight Princess
      -Skyward Sword
      -Breath of the WIld.
Not to say that the others ain't good, just these are the best mentioned.
You don't really steer clear of any, as pretty much every Zelda title is really decent on their own! Certainly play through all of them! Except the CD-I titles, all 3 of them are terrible, avoid them like the plague.
If you need any help, let me know!

In whatever form you're able to play it:
      • Majora's Mask is a "sequel" to Ocarina of Time. Playing OoT first would be a good starting spot. Nintendo took that time/game to establish Hyrule's ~lore in a pretty foundational way. Majora's Mask is MUCH more challenging/spread out, but they both have some immortal gaming moments. Back-to-back is a great way to play both of Nintendo's impressive first leaps into 3D LoZ. Also, AMAZING AMAZING songs/soundtracks, at least for the time :)
      • Wind Waker is also a very fun starting point. It's very stylized (might still be my favorite looking Zelda game) and delves a little more into the "lore" of Hyrule/LoZ more. Standout soundtrack also. Extra-awesome in surround sound or with decent+ headphones.
Playing them: Ocarina of Time >then> Wind Waker will probably yield more enjoyment for a lot of "inside jokes" and LoZ references Wind Waker has :)
      • Link's Awakening (timeline independent), Link to the Past (pre-Ocarina?), and Link Between Worlds (forget when it is) are my personal favorite top-down/handheld Zelda games. All fantastic and the "timeline" is unimportant to the story or gameplay :P
Link Between Worlds goofs around with the item mechanics in a big way, I'd recommend it not be the first.
      ----------
      AVOID: (or save for later)
      • Skyward Sword
SS has a lot of good intentions and ideas, but also a companion character that many find EXTREMELY interruptive and time-wasting.
      • Twilight Princess (wolf Link)
Moreso a "later" one. It's a little broody, clunky, & drags a bit, but it also tried doing things no Zelda game had done before w/ the motion controls. Not as many memorable moments, but it has them. Definitely worth at least playing a few of the dungeons.
      • Zelda II: Adventure of Link (challenging to many)
Might be worth trying, if at the very least to see why it's not that popular. An experiment gone wrong, to me :P
