We’ve heard so many great things about the SouthWest Coast of Florida so we decided to rent a boat for the day and explore the many water ways, barrier islands and beaches throughout the area.
We rented a 22ft. bowrider from Port 32 Boat Rentals at Marco Island
from 8am-4:30pm at a rate of $480. They did a great job of prepping our boat so it was clean and ready to go when we arrived. They also provided us with a map of the area and instructions on where to go and how to operate the boat. The boat is equipped with a depth finder and gps map that is pre programmed to guide you through the channel and directly to both Cape Romano and Keeywadin island.
We first visited Cape Romano, next we visited Keewaydin Island where we anchored and hung out on the beach.
There is an awesome Ice cream boat that’s run by a very friendly woman named Julie and the ice cream selection was great.
There was also a small cafe boat that served delicious food with a specialty in Burgers & fries.
Everyone was so friendly on the island and we had a blast!
Also, I was a little critical of the shrimp tacos sold at the Cafe boat, so I decided to include my favorite shrimp taco recipe. The recipe is listed below with a link. If you get a chance, test it out and let me know what you think.

That was a great trip bro keep telling my wife we have to bring our boat down there when we come down for vacation in march from NY .We usually rent a pontoon from snook marina in fort Myers beach but its pricey and they want it back before 5

Yeah it’s really nice in that area. We live in Philly so we’re gonna take our boat back down there for xmas and get the heck out of this cold 😂

Rent out of Marco or Naples so you can go to Keewaydin and not spend a lot on fuel. Pontoon from Naples to Keewaydin will run you about 45$ in fuel. That’s where the best boating is.
