  • In this video I am trying to find the answere which filament dryer dries better, the eSun eBox or the eBox Lite. The eBox Lite is the newer version with some improvements but some elements are not built in any more.
    eBox Lite is sent to me by eSun for the review:

    Great review. One more thing I would have done was ran the test again and swapped the temp/humidity sensors to the opposite unit to check for and help reduce the effect of differences in the sensors. I often find significant inconsistency in these electronic sensors and I do the swap to enhance my confidence level that the sensors are not influencing the result. Nice job either way though!

    Thank you for the review. I currently use a food dehydrator with a thermocouple with an esp8266 to control temps. It works extremely well and I can dry 3 rolls at one time. My only issue it’s too large. Hoping to use the food dehydrator in my garage and then using a single roll holder at each of my printers inside. To maintain low humidity while printing. Thanks for all the test!

    they ditched the weight sensor on "lite" version probby 'cause it was so imprecise on the original that was unusable, so looks like they found it cheaper to remove the sensor than to fix it :D ... as for the FET vs relay, I think they did it to reduce the cost and not to remove the noise.
    Btw, to reduce the noise, replacing the fan that it comes with with maglev type fan reduces the noise significantly, I have 11 esun boxes (original ones, have not tested the lite one) and all 11 of them have fan's that don't have balanced fins so they vibrate a lot, replacing the original fans with maglev removed noise. (on few I killed the relay and they are "always on" so I can use for longer drying and during long prints, so far looks like temp settles down low enough not to cause any damage... I would not recommend it but I had a need for it so sacrificed two of them)

    I’d be interested to know which or what other one you would recommend buying? I’m new to 3D printing but I know the PLA+ needs to be kept dry to work better. So I’m interested in your honest opinion 😊

      Check this comparison: czcams.com/video/6VB-pEvSed4/video.html , the best (and most expensive) is the Eibos Cyclopes. But in the menantime, they have cheaper version, the Easdry czcams.com/video/IPKQCZ75Vwg/video.html . So, my recommendation is one of Eibos.

    • @MyTechFun
      @MyTechFun  Před 2 lety +1

      Yes, creality enslocure reduce the humidity if you raise the temperature inside. In my creality filament review, during ABS printing, the temp was 50C (almost more than inside these dryers). Yes, it can help if your environment has 75%. Use some desiccant inside.

    you can insulte the esun lite. Just use the white foam plates in the package, they are perfect. get +6-7c higher temps. Looks ugly though but who cares.

  • @wturber
    @wturber Před 3 lety +3

    Of course, when the temperature is higher, you automatically have a lower relative humidity because warm air can hold more humidity. You'd have to convert that to absolute humidity to find out if there is actually less water in the air.
    Given that you can purchase inexpensive thermometer/hygrometers for as little as $2 , it makes no sense to me that these boxes are not equipped with such a sensor.
