- In this video I am trying to find the answere which filament dryer dries better, the eSun eBox or the eBox Lite. The eBox Lite is the newer version with some improvements but some elements are not built in any more.
eBox Lite is sent to me by eSun for the review:

eBox is sent to me by Banggood (half years ago):

Thank you for your review and a very professional comparison! Once again great content!
This is one of the best reviews I've seen for a product, thanks so much for doing it!
Great review. One more thing I would have done was ran the test again and swapped the temp/humidity sensors to the opposite unit to check for and help reduce the effect of differences in the sensors. I often find significant inconsistency in these electronic sensors and I do the swap to enhance my confidence level that the sensors are not influencing the result. Nice job either way though!
Thanks! I have been buying some of these based on your reviews.
I can say this is the best review (also with other videos you did). Thx
Thank you for the review. I currently use a food dehydrator with a thermocouple with an esp8266 to control temps. It works extremely well and I can dry 3 rolls at one time. My only issue it’s too large. Hoping to use the food dehydrator in my garage and then using a single roll holder at each of my printers inside. To maintain low humidity while printing. Thanks for all the test!
I agree with the many people here - excellent and very professional review.
Quantifiable scientific methodology!!! Thank you for doing this test and posting the results in a clear and easy to understand manner - this and your previous video show very well where the drying before printing can improve the print quality and why it is so.
Thank you very much. Great review!
Thanks for another great video
absolutely the scientist !!!!!
So they're not going to dry nylon as esun claims they would. That's very good to know! Thank you for the review.
great review seems to me they are only making there drying boxes work with PLA because you need at least 65c to dry petg and 75c to dry nylon in a reasonable amount of time
Perfect rewiev, perfect content. Thank you very much sir. Regards.
Very good review!
they ditched the weight sensor on "lite" version probby 'cause it was so imprecise on the original that was unusable, so looks like they found it cheaper to remove the sensor than to fix it :D ... as for the FET vs relay, I think they did it to reduce the cost and not to remove the noise.
Btw, to reduce the noise, replacing the fan that it comes with with maglev type fan reduces the noise significantly, I have 11 esun boxes (original ones, have not tested the lite one) and all 11 of them have fan's that don't have balanced fins so they vibrate a lot, replacing the original fans with maglev removed noise. (on few I killed the relay and they are "always on" so I can use for longer drying and during long prints, so far looks like temp settles down low enough not to cause any damage... I would not recommend it but I had a need for it so sacrificed two of them)
Thanks!
Thank you, I am happy that you find this video useful. You may find this video interesting too: czcams.com/video/6VB-pEvSed4/video.html
That's surprising the newer one is called "Lite" Maybe they'll have a "pro" version of something in the future with higher temp and whatnot
I think the Lite is because they take out the weight scale.
Awesome video! Would you recommend eSun Lite or Creality for drying quality?
Creality is much stronger but louder. If you don't need to dry nylon then go with eSun.
Damn you got so many probes in that thing at the same time
Comparing to sunlu, which do you think is better? Sunlu or Ebox Lite? Thanks for the video, great job!
Ebox lite (but check the Sovol dryer video too). And if you wait 1-2 weeks, I have Creality dry box on the review..
@@MyTechFun do you recommend ebox lite cause it's cheaper than earlier ebox or lite actually performs much better?
Thank you for this, I love the fact you are using science to show the results and not just saying this, that and the other.
I’d be interested to know which or what other one you would recommend buying? I’m new to 3D printing but I know the PLA+ needs to be kept dry to work better. So I’m interested in your honest opinion 😊
Thanks,
TMD
Check this comparison: czcams.com/video/6VB-pEvSed4/video.html , the best (and most expensive) is the Eibos Cyclopes. But in the menantime, they have cheaper version, the Easdry czcams.com/video/IPKQCZ75Vwg/video.html . So, my recommendation is one of Eibos.
24v? Straight into my Ender 5 Plus PSU probably how I am going to connect it.
Hi, I come from SUNLU, SUNLU brand's S series Filament Dryer Box will
welcome the second generation product - SUNLU
Filament Dryer S2
We need capable social media operators to post the
experience video of the product for us in the first time.
Hello Daisy, I got your message. My email is on About page (visible from desktop computer)
Hello what humidity percentage is good for PLA, Will it works good with 75% humidity, Please comment if creality Printer Enclosure could Reduce humidity as it is closed.
Yes, creality enslocure reduce the humidity if you raise the temperature inside. In my creality filament review, during ABS printing, the temp was 50C (almost more than inside these dryers). Yes, it can help if your environment has 75%. Use some desiccant inside.
@@MyTechFun I mean not the creality filament box, the aluminium enclosure which covers the 3D printer as well, which u shown in the previous video, which is fire resistant
@@MyTechFun the reason for asking this question is, i already have the 3d Printer Creality Enclosure, if I add the Filament Enclosure, will this add value to the Print?
@@Krealityfabrication czcams.com/video/YI9dcCAQV1A/video.html
@@MyTechFun thanks it was understandable, my understanding says, either get filament box or heat the enclosure 2-3 hrs before printing 😁
Would you recommend the Sovol over the eBox Lite?, very similar in price.
Sovol would be better, but my died after 4 months. So I am afraid to recommend it any more.
@@MyTechFun thats a real shame, whats your number 1 overall? I did like the look of the Eibos but its out of my price range I'm afraid.
@@daveycrazy Yes, Eibos is #1, Sovol would be #2. I am trying to repair it, but I don't get assistance from Sovol. I am modifying a cheap food dehydrator so it can be used during printing too. Video in few weeks.
@@MyTechFun Caved in, going to get the Eibos
@@MyTechFun You should solder in a fan in the sunlu s1 and re test it (against itself without fan and others). People are seeing much higher temperatures inside the dryer due to the air flowing over the hot plate.
you can insulte the esun lite. Just use the white foam plates in the package, they are perfect. get +6-7c higher temps. Looks ugly though but who cares.
Of course, when the temperature is higher, you automatically have a lower relative humidity because warm air can hold more humidity. You'd have to convert that to absolute humidity to find out if there is actually less water in the air.
Given that you can purchase inexpensive thermometer/hygrometers for as little as $2 , it makes no sense to me that these boxes are not equipped with such a sensor.
I have another dryer waiting for a review, wider and temp+humidity sensors included. Video in a week or two..
