Beautiful pictures of modern Arima, the home of Santa Rosa festival. I read a lot about the Carib people who celebrate this festival in Arima. The story of Trinidad and Tobago is indeed a beautiful story of a tiny island Republic with ethnic diversity, a true melting pot of culture. Here in South Africa, we have a word used to refer to multi-ethnic composition of a nation and the word is; "Rainbow Nation". What many people don't know is that this word was first coined by Bishop Desmond Tutu when he visited Trinidad and Tobago islands; he was surprised to find a country with different races; ever since that time, the word is now used frequently in South Africa since the abolishment of apartheid system and the unification of citizens from across different racial backgrounds. Looking forward to visiting the islands. Much love, from me Ernest (Centurion, South Africa 🇿🇦). Peace ✌
I met an Nurse from Arima 🇹🇹 in my hometown Baltimore I was visiting my Aunt 5 years ago I wearing 🇹🇹 as my headband the Nurse said to me " Are you allowed to wear" She was joking 🤪🤣😂, I asked the Nurse is she from 🇹🇹 she say yes She's from Arima & the 1st 🇹🇹 I met from Arima. Everyone I met is from Port of Spain & San Fernando
