    They moved to Flagstaff because Dayton was going to college there. He just didn't want to tell the other wives that.

      One of the kids said David applied there cause he wanted to move out. Then Robyn wanted to follow. This is the spectrum kid so I get that. But I really think Kody and Robyn had him apply there I think those kids knew ahead of the rest of them. At this point there were 0-3 kids in the others house. And some of the kids adults in that college age period. Their mistake was not moving so much as creative financing of land and also needing rentals. Christine said she was buying. Kody on that asset. Kody had to get off that asset to get his and Robyn’s much more expensive and larger home. What was a pity is Christine’s mom was living with her. But she didn’t move right? Robyn hired a stranger to nanny. Just saying. AZ so random. I mean no one had family there.

    The rush was 1) because the balloon payments were coming due on the houses, and 2) because Dayton (Robyn's son) got into college in Flagstaff, and was starting in the fall, and she was desperate to have him still live with her. So every other family member had to go along, and THAT's why they had to have rentals as well. If you look, you see the timeline matches, and it's so sad for all the other kids.

    As you continue to watch the coming seasons, I think you will see that the rush was to get Robyn's son Dayton to Flagstaff before the start of the school year at ASU. This whole move was because Robyn couldn't let her son go to college on his own.

    In season 13 we see Kody begin to make himself redundant in these women's lives. As each woman realized that they can do it on their own, they took a step away from Kody. Meri was able to buy the house in Parowan on her own. Christine navigated everything about Ysabel's scoliosis and surgery on her own. Her realization that she did it on her own made me cry. Janelle learned that life was less stressful without Kody in her life during covid quarantines. She preferred life without him.

  • @thompsoncindy42
    @thompsoncindy42 Před 14 dny +15

    Kody's need to keep the whole family together has several possible reasons: 1) the show depends on the family operating as a unit; 2) Kody wants to keep his (and Robyn's) access to the money that Meri, Janelle, and Christine bring in to the family; and quite possibly the biggest reason, 3) Kody's need to assert control over the wives and children - "it's all ego baby" - straignt from Kody's own mouth.

  • @Mamaisawake
    @Mamaisawake Před 14 dny +12

    The beginning of the end was, in my opinion, when he started courting Robyn but especially when he picked out Robyn’s wedding dress. The nail in the coffin was when he skipped Isabel’s surgery. And when Christine left, he was embarrassed and dropped all pretense of fairness and we saw who he’d been all along to them when we weren’t watching.

    Do you honestly believe that Kody madr that presentation by himself? He had help.... Robyn's help, that's why she sits there and doesn't say a word while he's presenting. She knows and is 100% behind this idea. She couldn't let Dayton go off to college by himself.

  • @thompsoncindy42
    @thompsoncindy42 Před 14 dny +12

    The main "purpose" for Kody wanting to move to Flagstaff was that Robyn's son, Dayton, was moving there to go to college and Robyn could not bear for Dayton to be that far away from her control. Hence the urgency to move before school started - even though Kody tried to frame it like it was for all the kids. He only cared what made Robyn happy. The history of tha past with the other wives told him that he could convince them to move just like he'd done many, many times before. And, Sam, I'm with you - that weird half moustache/goatee facial hair was the MOST ridiculous look Kody has sported.

  • @cathywithac
    @cathywithac Před 14 dny +17

    Why Flagstaff? Dayton was accepted to university in Flagstaff. Robyn wanted to move to Flagstaff take care of him. I think that Robyn would have relocated to Flagstaff with her kids without Kody or the rest of the family to be with Dayton. She would have expected the Brown family to finance her. Kody did not want to be left behind therefore his panic to move the entire family so that he could be with Robyn. BTW, Paedon has said that Dayton wanted to go to Flagstaff on his own for the full university experience. Robyn going with him was not his idea.

  • @dstat74
    @dstat74 Před 14 dny +6

    One more quick comment. Kody needed the family to stay together, move together rush…rush…rush. Why? The show. Kody had to keep the wives bought in to keep the show. They had all gone along with his whims before but now they knew the disparity in their relationships compared to Robyn plus they had older kids who didn’t just step in line. Kody had complete control before. He wants the TLC money. Everyone’s money went into one pot that Kody then gave them budgets. He had the ultimate say (“hey Christine, if you want to go on a vacation, save your grocery money!”). This coming from the mouth of the person who always needed a sports car, invested in who knows what. He had no accountability. Janelle probably knows the most since she handled the books.

    But the main reason s:
    2. Dayton being accepted at NAU. Most kids get their letters in March. My niece did that same year in March.

Then when it looked like she would get the house, all they could see was $$$$ signs and got snarky when she said they weren’t getting any of the profits. She asked for a loan, they said no, so she did it on her own and they didn’t like that either. They didn’t want anything to do with it, but they were so nasty when she got it, and gave her a hard time again just because she hadn’t told them……wish they would make up their minds. Then Kody tries to take the limelight at the opening. Best thing Meri ever did was buy that house.

    They all do financially depend on the show. They can not afford their lifestyle without the show. I think that's why the wives eventually gave in.

    Actually I did some math looking up birthdays and graduations. It turns out the timing of the move was perfect for three students. David Brown and Breanna Brown and Sol Brown, all of them Robyn’s. The oldest entering college first year. The second starting high school in the fall. Sol starting 1st. Savannah moved to a new school for 8th grade. Terribly grade to move, I moved for 8th grade. Not recommended. She is not Robyn’s kid but Janelle’s. Ysabel, Aurora, Gwen and Gabe were all moving during their high school years. Two kids Christine’s and one Janelle’s and one Robyn’s. Sol was meant to entering 1st grade. Robyn’s. Not a terrible grade to change schools. So of the 4 kids of Robyn’s in school 3 of them transferred ideal years to transfer. Truely was entering 3rd based on her birthday. There is a chance with the younger ones that they started kdg late. I’m just going by ages. We know the years Savannah on up graduated. Gabe was begging to stay with Maddie in Vegas. Team and girlfriend and transferring half way through high school a bad idea. Different states have different credits and paths of courses each year to meet graduation requirements. Maddie said she was moving and Janelle said no to Gabe anyway you are living with your mom. Rightly so. Janelle didn’t want to do to Gabe what they did to Hunter. But they did it anyway. Gabe worked to finish high school 6 months earlier. He still did high school in AZ but finished early. If they waited 5 years Savannah would have graduated by then. Leaving only 3 minor kids. The oldest of those 3 kids in middle school. No idea what they mean by concern over leaving in 5 years. They already had several kids in high school not done in high school at the time of moving and during the five years before the next possible move. If they waited 2 more years three more kids don’t with high school.

    Haha, "Where We Go One We Go All" that Kody said is actually a QAnon reference (if you ever see flags with WWG1WGA that's what it means), even though he used the phrase about his family, I'd bet money he's Q-pilled and picked it up that way.

    Pictures of Kody in early seasons versus now, he looks very very different, don’t know if it’s steroids or just the stress of life, he looks quite unhappy now

    I personally would love a house like he got the plans for to give our children the option after college and our oldest daughter just told us she is pregnant and due in October it would be a great option for her after she has the baby if she and her husband didn’t want to have no choice but put the baby in childcare and our oldest son is having trouble finding his footing and he keeps moving in and out of our house …that would be a great option for him as he’s still finding his. When the Browns fled Las Vegas, the homes were left in a condition not ready to show or sell. If Robyn had to be in Flagstaff for Dayton, at least have the house clean & ready for the market. Who behaves this way. The 3 wives should have let K&R leave & sold their homes before leaving. No reason they all had to race out of LV. It boggles the mind for adults to behave this way & why buy land on top of it. Fiscally did not make sense. This is what happens when you yoke yourself to an idiot & his nutball controlling wife.

    There were more problems than we knew at this point. I suspect Kody wanted to move in a hurry (possibly) to put pressure on Meri and try to force her hand to leave him. I think his ego was way more bruised over the catfishing situation than he let’s on. Not that he wanted to be with Meri, but having all these women hang around him and claiming to be a part of his family was a big ego trip for him. In fact I think this move to Flagstaff is Kody “choosing happiness” so to speak. He doesn’t want to admit it but he’s through with polygamy- actually lol he does admit it. He picks his wives off one by one, using first this move, then Covid as an excuse to cause turmoil and strife to literally destroy his family. I suspect he’s always used stress to control his family even over the little things, blowing things out of proportion so he doesn’t have to do anything he doesn’t want to do. That’s a big reason why Christine says it’s easier when he’s not around.

    If a traditional Mormon were left-wing, he could just defend Polygamy on the basis of equity etc. and add another letter to the LGBT (&etc.) alphabet. But the problem is that polygamy is seen as anti-woman while, for whatever reason, something like an "open marriage" is not.

    Sam is someone who grew upin a polygamous sect with a father who had multiple wives.

    You're both very likeable. I would love to see Melissa break herself of the habit of using the word "like" like, every other word. You both misuse the word "literally" as well. Nothing personal.
