Easily a top 10 Montreal Expo in my book, which makes him one of my top 10 favourite baseball players of all-time. His picture should really come up if you google search the term "line drive". It seemed like he hit the ball hard every time up. He had a great glove and arm too, and before his terrible ankle/leg injury in 1993 he could run pretty fast as well. I think he could've been a hall of famer if he hadn't lost significant time to injuries. He also easily could've been World Series MVP in 1997 but it went to Livan Hernandez (who would go on to become one of my favourite Expos pitchers).
As a Florida child in 97 he was my fav. My bias is strong. But alou was a top nl player of this Era to me
