Aufzeichnung vom 4. Juli 2023 bei den Nuits de Fourvière, Lyon

Their Best Live of 2023😍🤘🏻
@@LukeG.B. Agree! I'll see them in November. Can. Not. Wait!
Merciiiiiii !
Opening with "No One Knows" is the ultimate flex. This band ages like fine wine 🤌🏼
Its like them saying, "yeah this used to be our epic closer, but now this is just the warm up for the shit we're about to drop on you"
They have sooo many bangers, they're underrated, they should be a household name.
Pretty sure they are a household name by now.
Opening with your biggest commercial hit might be THE Flex. Add the whole "We're over that encore BS. Can we play a few more songs for y'alls?"is such a BOSS move.
In Amsterdam they opened with Regular John after the little intro tune followed by No one Knows. The most amazing opening of a concert I ever heard!

I ❤ arte & I love 🇪🇺 & I love qotsa
It’s french
Since the new album came out and the festival footage I’ve seen of Queens recently, they are sounding absolutely unreal.
Saw them at Werchter last Sunday. Absolutely incredible!
Yep, they’re Glastonbury set was excellent. One of the highlights
Agreed! Much more heavy
Saw them in my dreams. It was incredible! 😅
After a few decades of playing at this level, it’s definitely real 😊
Troys transitions from keys to guitar to lapsteel are absolutely insane, he always looks like he doesn’t have enough time to switch, but he never misses a single beat
That, and switching between "regular" and slide parts back and forth in the same song can be tricky (or...it is for me anyway. Lol)
@@BSTRDKRFT Just further proves that QOTSA really are one of the tightest live bands around
@@jamieclarke1834💯💯💯
The Sound engineer should get up on stage and take a bow!
Meticulously outstanding.
51:42 the pick was for me and the guy who caught it gave it to me!
Josh mocking the VIPs at 1:06:45 is everything. And his laugh
*brat*
Troy is such a good foil to Josh. They play guitar so well together.
They have to be one of the tightest bands on the road. Their tour sound is SOOO close to studio. I love these guys and Josh so much. So much in every song.
Tight as fuckkkkkkk
I saw them live yesterday. What you are not hearing is how heavy they are. It’s insane
Yeah - saw them in San Diego a few weeks ago. I was going in knowing it would be the best show of my life (& I’ve seen hundreds). To say the least, I was not let down.
@@SleeplessSpecter I got turned onto them playing Rock Band and I think it was 3s and 7s and I was like, “who the hell are these guys and why am I not listening to them all the time?!”
I started with Era and went backwards and have been hooked ever since. There’s just something in the music that talks to me unlike any other band.
its hard to believe how little to none Hommes vocals have faded after over all these decades.....astounding how much vitality this band pumps out effortlessly...all but one past 50....infuckingcredible....
You're so correct! I would add that their creativity is just as good or better. I think that is where other rock bands have 'lost it' over the decades. Most rock bands rely on a formula that is comfortable for them. Josh and his band are not afraid to explore new territory. As a musician just North of 50, I am better than ever. Playing acoustic gigs where I sing and play guitar, play bass in another band on big outdoor festival stages in the summer, and I've been asked to front another band playing guitar and singing. Music is life and QOTSA is king of the mountain in my honest opinion.
The whole band is on fire on this tour. I really enjoy what Dean Fertita contributes. He adds a lot!
He does! Because of him they can pretty much recreate everything on the record.
@@pitpride1220 Yep! 100%.
Dean is so multi talented..and to remember all the music for.all the bands is incredible
him and TVL the coolest/incredibly capable "support" players....
@@pitpride1220I know it's not quite so simple, but is that basically why QOTSA sounds at least as good, usually better, live as they do on studio recordings?
In all the festivals that QOTSA has played which were filmed, this was by far the best. Testament to the crews, personnel, and to the crowd, all of whom managed to make this night a very special and memorable one.
Thank you all.
The gig at Rock Werchter last week was also filmed, i was there, wonderful from both the band and the crowd (and spider man) :
czcams.com/video/opLbtwxnHjw/video.html&pp=ygUqcXVlZW5zIG9mIHRoZSBzdG9uZSBhZ2Ugcm9jayB3ZXJjaHRlciAyMDIz
However the mood at the "Nuits de Fourvière" is always particular (I live in Lyon), great QOTSA performance here, but far from the madness of Werchter
@@Paranoid1970 Couldn't agree more. Werchter was craazzyyy. I was there in the second "snakepit"
@@legrandjluc105 Thats a really random comparison that i would nonetheless agree with.
Mr. Grohl once said the following and wise 6 words:
"QOTSA is the best live band".
I already agreed with him years ago,
I agree with him today
and I will fucking agree with him till i'm dead.
For real, this band sounds *so smooth and clean* (Emotion Sickness line reference) as they never did before.
I'm desperate to see them live in the future. Love these Guys and thank you ARTE for saving this gem. ❤️
They're the best live band... they're the best in-studio band... they're the best band, period!
What a fantastic show and perfectly captured by the wonderful ARTE Concert. Thank you so much ARTE 🫶 And thank you QOTSA ❤ You are the best! ❤🔥🥳🤘

Straight into the set with their biggest hit and 1:50h of no disappointment following. Also a big shoutout to ARTE for streaming such quality footage.
I wish they would retire that song 😂
yep too predictable
@@pattonPwr Actually not. The biggest hit as an opener is a bold move and probably another way of Josh Homme saying he doesn't give a f**k. Playing it in the encore would be predictible, not going into the set like "we got that covered now, let's have some fun".
@@DoNuT_1985 opening with "no one knows" is an easy way to catch people's attention.. and Josh loves tooo much attention
@@pattonPwr Well, wouldn't you want attention when you're a f**king rock band on a massive stage? Haters gonna hate, mate.
Slaying it! Look now kids, this is what taking care of your business looks like at 50. Clarity, virtuosity, deep pockets and epic power!!!
Can’t wait for Denver!!
that sound of “god is in the radio” … just powerful
Yeah!
Dean doing great with the backing vocals on In The Fade. God knows how much I love that song
Who ever did the sound setup for this gig, needs a god damn statue, combined with Joshs' current vocal power, Mwah x
Greatest Rock band on the planet!! Such good sound quality. Thank you for this. 🙏🙏🙏
The lyrics...the sound...the deep understanding of music... these boys are gifts from heaven! ..the Carnavoyeur lyrics ..shit man..brings me to tears😢❤...God bless you all🙏🍀

Just saw them in Atlanta....JAWDROPPING is an understatement...They are the best live rock band right right now! Thanks for posting this stream to relive it!
That was crazy good! See you in November in The Netherlands!
That bass is so perfect every ounce of tone is coming outta that amp
such a polished performance would love to see them live one day
Thank you Arte, what a great feeling to come back from the venue and to be able to archive hd footage straight away for this amazing evening :D
This is one of the best live Concert Videos of them by far. Thank you. Please don’t ever take it down.
This venue is an ancient Roman theater, so it's very fitting for the recent album. I visited Lyon on holiday a few weeks ago and this theater as well, beautiful location with a nice view of the city. Amazing place to watch a concert for sure. Too bad I was a couple of weeks late.
Thank you to whomever mixed this-the vocal harmonies sound incredible! I feel like that gets lost a lot in the audio from these huge festivals. Jon Theodore's drums sound amazing too 🖤🖤🖤🖤
I love Negative Spaces. Really punchy hooks. Josh has that gift of chorus. It’s yet another classic.

These men are at peak Queens, the sound is so tight, great setlist and everyone looks well...especially and specifically my Mickey Shoes.
Mikey Shoes
1:21:40 In The Fade In The Fade is still one of my favorite songs period. RIP Mark.
QOTSA Hail to the Queens!!
Thank you very very&sooo much lovely arte!!❤❤
Thanks for streaming it and leaving it up! Such good concert!
Josh is singing better that ever! What a Voice 🎤
He’s not. He is struggling to sing no one knows.
I had my doubts about straight jacket played live… turns out its killer live song geniunely suprised and troy deserves more credit for his playing
Just back to home. Best show ever. thanks QOTSA. thanks. thanks. thanks ! 🤘
this line up is incredible! zero buyer regrets. go see them!
Man theyre coming to Philly august 8 th but its just not in the budget but man this only makes me wanna go even more!!!!!!! QOTSA 4EVER!!!!! BIG LOVE FROM PHILLY TO EVERYONE & TYVM FOR THIS!!!!!! JOSH & ENTIRE BAND SOUND PHENOMENAL!!!!
I had to put both dates for North Carolina on the credit card, worth it...
WHAT a drummer is Jon Theodore my god!
They are truly amazing live and seem to be in great form, however I am sad that they do not include "I Appear Missing" in their setlist anymore. It is, without a doubt, their greatest song, especially in its live version.
The outro was always amazing
they did it in Halifax and it was amazing
a show where straight jacket fitting and i appear missing coexist....thats the show where i wanna be in
You never know. I don’t think they’ve all been exactly the same this tour
They’ve played it a few times already
the way these guys have some very complex songs and sound just like the album is insane
Merci Arte!
The versatility of their discography is UNDERRATED.
They weave this niiice.
competence is always a very sexy thing. in a man..these guys are all such shiny stars in their own right and together such a brilliant and fucking rocking constellation...if you are looking for excellence then you have surely found it...shine on you crazy diamonds!
Man I'm so glad this popped up on my feed and I had time to devote to this concert! QOTSA is and always have been at the top of my list of best bands! Solid energy, precision, tone, and fun!
The part of the show from Straight Jacket Fitting through God Is In The Radio is beautiful. Magical and otherworldly. I hope they play the set like that when they come to The Armory in Minneapolis this September.
I am so grateful to have had the chance to see them live at Fourviere! The ambience of the Roman theatre, the drive and the energy they had the entire concert was just amazing! And thank you to Arte for letting me relive each second I spent in the pit!!! The pogo did not end for a single second ❤
Best concert and best crowd on this tour so far … the guys are on fire! See you soon in São Paulo in September and in Dusseldorf in November :) Nobody partys like the ginger giant from the desert!

It's not just that their music is...grrrreat, the singer is giving his best to...sing. I'm glad the band makes so many people enjoy themselves
OMFG Straight fitting jacket! 1:08:49

Josh Homme... What a man! 🥰
man these set lists recently are fucking INSANE. can't belive I'm gonna get to see this shit live. the lannegan tribute is just the cherry on top of an all time great set list.
set list are predictable. Forgot about the first album and playing the typical "hits" that are boring already
@@pattonPwr the first album hasn't sounded good live for about 15 years, josh can't sing that high anymore and they're a completely different band now. this has to be the best qotsa set list I have ever seen. this new album is one of their best.
Watched them live back in 2019, when they were touring with Foo Fighters in Brazil and so far QOFSA was my favourite show, energy and precision, love Josh Homme's Elvis style 🤘

I just can't fathom how good they are live. I Sat by the Ocean sounded nearly identical to the studio track. Amazing.
It is now time to admit Josh into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame - with all speed.
How clear Josh is. To me it seems like that he has gone through a huge process and now he is in his middle. He got older like a good wine.
