Don't be arbitrary, all criminal's parents then should be charged with them. Or is that logic flawed? Instead of admitting you don't understand how someone can be BORN without a conscience and it's beyond your sensibilities. Surely there's a reason you tell yourself, but that logic doesn't really pan out and the truth is far more horrible and terrible than you care to know, true evil exists, nothing CAUSES it. Some people are BORN without a conscience socioeconomic class, gender and race don't matter and scarier still they "seem" normal, and it can't be prevented- they are what psychology deems psychopaths.

Ethan was caught watching gun videos , drawing pictures of guns and they thought keeping him in school that day was the best option?! They also need to held accountable. Their decision to allow him to stay in school cost the lives of four innocent children. No disciplinary actions? Are you freaking kidding me?!?! Guns are not toys and if a child is sitting in class drawing pictures and writing “blood everywhere “ he or she should be removed IMMEDIATELY and admitted to a facility for psychiatric evaluation and treatment THAT VERY DAY!! I do not understand how they could just disregard what was painfully obvious. This senseless tragedy could have been avoided had they taken this more seriously. God bless the souls of those children. In the US, the law varies state by state. In CA, those under 18, living under a parents care, can be forced to get psychiatric treatment under parent discretion. But in Michigan I did see that it’s a bit different. They have what’s called Rights of Minors. I wish Ethan would have known that he could seek this at his school.
If you are a minor, 14 years of age or older (between 14 and 17), you have the right to ask for, and receive, outpatient mental health services (not including psychotropic medication or pregnancy termination referral services) without the consent or knowledge of your parent or guardian.

I thought the school did a great job because they noticed what he was drawing on his paper. These teachers have 30 students in a room 1400 students. The ratio is so high, but the teachers kept noticing him sleeping all day, which is a sign of depression, and then his grades falling another sign. There’s so many signs there’s seven signs of depression that every parent and teacher should know. If the teachers noticed it, the parents should’ve noticed it.

    • @blake7065
      @blake7065 Před měsícem

The school was not screaming "help your son". They gave the parents a choice of whether they leave the kid at school or take him home and the kid said he wanted to stay and the parents let him they never thought he would have shot up the school. No parent ever even considers that as a possibility that their kid might do something like that. If anything it's on the school because no parent would ever predict their kid would do something so horrible. The school could have forced them to take Ethan home or suspended him but no they let him go back to class as well. At the end of the day, looking to blame someone else isn't gonna change what happened and the parents obviously aren't evil and didn't want to kill anyone. They might be bad parents but there's been so many kids with horrible parents or no parents at all that grew up to be good people or at least not evil people. There is only one person we can blame and that's Ethan. He is the evil one who chose to plan and carry out the act.

Ethan said, and I quote, “I always hoped there was something out there for me; something to give me a happy, loving, caring life.”
I spend every day with my daughter (14 years old). After school, we sit down together and do homework, we watch movies, we play Mario Kart, etc. But more importantly, we also discuss her goals, her dreams, and her ideas. We talk about philosophy, she asks questions, and I provide answers. She believes she has the smartest dad in the world, and I don’t correct her and admit that I’m far from it.
My daughter doesn’t have many friends in high school, and she’s known as the “nerdy” girl to her classmates. I can say with 100% certainty that my child is loved, cared for, and most importantly happy.
As a parent, it is our primary responsibility to raise our children and provide them with love, care, stability, and most importantly *guidance* . After watching hours upon hours of this mother’s trial, it’s abundantly clear that she had higher priorities than taking care of her son.
This boy’s parents failed him. They should be held accountable for the atrocities their child committed against their community.

Applause for you for being in your daughters life she’s very fortunate for that because it seems that more than half of American families in this United States are coming from broken homes, but Ethan’s case I feel like I have a teenage son I really can relate to this whole thing because I think about how it was when he was that age and I would try to reach out to him and connect with him but you know he was online playing his games doing things like that and really at 15-16 yr old teenager doesn’t really want to sit and talk with his mom they consider parents to be like people that just don’t ” get it”, but you have a daughter that’s willing to sit there every day and talk with you and you have the time and you’re not having to work that is very much beneficial for your situation but unfortunately, there’s a lot of parents out there that have to work full-time and just don’t have that time to sit and get into their kids heads like that.. and even if they try, chances are the kids aren’t gonna open up to you like they would to friends specially about something this serious.. I guarantee those parents are going to regret a lot of things from this point on in their lives but I do also know there’s a lot of Ethan’s in this world that are going through the same thing. Maybe they have parents that have to work just to keep a roof over their head and they can’t be there for their kids like they wanna be I’m not saying that these parents didn’t fail Ethan in every way, but moving forward after hearing his testimony, when he spoke to the judge when they were giving him sentencing, it literally put me in tears cause I feel like at that age their brains aren’t fully developed and they can still change. There is a chance of changing when they’re that young and I feel like his whole life is ruined. He wasted it... he obviously got his information online and after so long of constantly seen the negativity in this world. This is what came of it.. and I want to know that I do feel extreme remorse for the children that were killed that day and by me feeling bad for Ethan doesn’t say that I feel what he did was right. I just wanted to make sure everyone knows that as well

My dad was someone who worked 50-60 hour weeks steadily through my childhood yet always made time for us every night after work, to have dinner with us and to play with my brothers and I, help with homework, and have one on one time with us driving us to different functions or playing with us. He never missed a single function, he was always there to support us. We lost him to cancer in the fall, and he was only 64, my heart is completely broken and I don't know how I am making it through honestly. I have had a hard life of dealing with different tragedies and making mistakes, but my Dad being in my life and being so caring and nurturing to me all my life, that no doubt is why I am a decent person. A loving, caring person with a moral compass, self esteem, and hope. That love and consistent effort is how we got here. I would have done anything at all to save him. That bond between parent and child is so real and so powerful. How you are raised has everything to do with the person you become. People will try to say that this kids parents were busy working, that they tried their best. I think people who feel insecure about their own hands-off approach or negligence with parenting get upset about this case and what it says about parenting. I think this trial is calling out a lot of people, the idea that parents can be held responsible for the actions of their teen is hard for a lot of people to sit with. But we can all see this kid was desperate for love and care yet had two parents in his life, so obviously that says something about their home life. Dad was working and lazy, and Mom was lazy and working and also busy screwing people outside of the marriage. These poor victims and their families, they were robbed of everything good, their families ripped apart, because of the Crumbley family's chaos and lack of love. Those kids who were killed, each of their parents will never get over this. It will hurt forever. The bond between parent and child is so strong. Ethan did this because he had no idea what that felt like, that he could take it for granted.

Like neglect hurts less if your parents are working 2-3 jobs and exhausted, one can rationize they don't have money/time to do much of anything else with/for you and would be better parents if they had better work/life balance. But that wasn't really the case w the Crumbleys, who were willfully neglectful

I stored the gun and the ammo in my bedroom. By the time I was in HS I had multiple guns, including the loaded handgun I kept in my car that I drove to school everyday. Many of my classmates did the same. We were taught gun safety from an early age. We didn't have school councilors. I didn't have a good home life. I was THE kid everyone picked on growing up. It never entered my mind that shooting up the school was even an option. It never entered the mind of any of my friends who had full access to guns and ammo. What's sad to me are the comments people have posted about wondering why others feel sorry for him. How is a child who was neglected, had an attachment disorder, suffered from depression& anxiety, and felt the only way to feel anything&be remembered by people was to kill his peers not sad? He asked his parents to get him help and they didn't, how is this not sad? His teachers knew he needed help and there wasn't more done by the school where he spent at least fifty percent of his weekly awake hours developing and learning, how is this not sad? What's sad to me are the people who still don't want to accept that we have a gun issue in the USA. How many non-gun school killings can you think of compared to school gun killings? Wake up, USA-we are failing our children when we fail to recognize and act upon their need for help and to keep them safe. As a child social-emotional development evaluator for the past fifteen years, I see kids seeking healthy positive relationships with their parents/guardians all the time! From the time children are born we should be talking to them, listening to them, emotionally engaging with them, and being positive role models. Obviously no one is perfect and this is okay because you could be a positive role model even when you are having a bad day such as by taking a walk, modeling deep breathing, talking to a friend...children are always watching even when they appear not to be and will see this as utilizing healthy outlets. Ethan is not evil, he is not insane, he is experiencing everything in the second sentence and to explain what this can do to a child's brain from a psychological stand point would take a lot more time. Did he make a deadly life impacting choice that affected himself and several others? Obviously. Is it sad that he killed his peers? Of course...fly high beautiful angels and peace &prayers to your families. What we could gain from this is to stop being highly concentrated on reacting and be more proactive. Pay attention to children. Your smile might be the only smile they receive today. Say hello to them and ask them how they are doing. Don't bully children. Think about what you are going to say before you say it. Apologize to children when it's necessary just like you would an adult. Instead of abusing your child when they've made a mistake- use the situation as a learning opportunity.....they made a mistake, how can learn from their mistake? Ask the child what they could have done differently. Keep the line of communication open. These are the four parenting styles: permissive, authoritative, neglectful, and authoritarian...are you an authoritative parent? If not, which parenting style do you most associate with any how could you improve? We can as a whole help improve the lives of children with a conscious dedicated effort. Peace and love to all of you.

Hearing this is just heartbreaking. As adults we forget that children, teenagers especially, are essentially going through existential crises throughout those years, to figure out who they are, the realization that the world is not what they thought it was, and how to find happiness. They are lost, trying to find their way. Without the Holy Spirit, and parents to guide, love, validate and support them, which is rare enough these days, they are left alone and susceptible to wander down a path they may never find their way out of. And then, like in this case, you add severe mental illness, and neglectful parents who when their child says he needs a therapist they respond with getting him a gun and even after being called into their son’s school with alarming drawings of intended homicide and suicidal ideation, they said they had to go back to work. I do agree this child made a conscious decision to take those lives and should be held accountable for that. But to some degree I feel the parents should be considered voluntary and his more involuntary. He was desperate for help, and no one listened.

My heart is actually broken over this entire story! Ethan was terribly let down by his parents! He cried out for help in text message and phone calls. He even went straight to them and asked for help as he was laughed at by his mother and told him man up. Their idea of family game night was getting out a Ouija board. It’s no wonder the kids said he was seeing demons. I also feel like the school let down Ethan and all the victims. They chose to keep him at school that day without checking his person or backpack. As soon as they seen his drawing, they should have called the police immediately. This was preventable ! I feel like the school is responsible in many ways along with the parents. He was clearly experiencing psychosis. It’s absolutely heartbreaking.

It just goes to show he was not wired right. No sane person would utter such things. The school should have made an executive decision to bypass their standard methods of handling these situations, searched his backpack as a preventative measure instead of being so flippant and sending him back to class. That would have saved the lives of those four children that day. Why they just ignored his drawings, and him saying “blood everywhere” is beyond comprehension. Additionally, his parents should have insisted he get counselling outside of the school to address his depression. He was 15, and yes he planned this whole thing, but I believe something could have been done earlier to avoid all of this.

Her boyfriend, her horses, her ski patrol, her parties, her dieting, everything was more important than her son. He was also an outsider at school. Otherwise he would’ve had friends. He would’ve been part of school activities. I think it’s the fact that he was an outsider in both realms that made it possible for him to do the horrific thing he did. Idk what kind of sentence his mom will get but Ethan is in jail for the rest of his life. She laughed when he asked for counseling. Insensitive, selfish creature! Ethan, I pray you find Jesus. He is the light in our darkness. I promise you there is a God and he gave his only son to die for our salvation. God loves you Ethan no matter what. We all want to give up at some point in this life but when we invite our savior to live in our hearts we can face anything evil sends our way. Sending prayers, love, and hope to you and everyone affected by this tragedy. 🙏❤️🙏

Amen. We all need forgiveness, even the most wretched. I pray for the families who lost their children, for those who were wounded, either physically or mentally. This world and our country are hopeless because we took God out of school, our courts, and our country. A Godless country will never heal. God said, "If my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." 2 Chronicles 7:14. Yeshua is our only hope. He IS the way, the truth, and the life. ✝️

This kid was waaay too isolated while mom was out riding her horses and her bf. I blame her more than the father because, by all accounts, she wore the pants in the household. If she said he wasn’t getting counseling then he wasn’t getting counseling.

The last 10 seconds on this video .Just kills me.. I know I’ll get criticized for a lot of my thoughts on this whole video cause I’ve made a few different comments I guess it’s because it really hits home with me because I have a son his age and at the end when he says he’s sorry to his parents and he had gained their trust. . It’s like I feel his pain it’s almost like you know as a parent you know that looking back I think in hindsight, his parents are really just are always gonna have this guilt wishing that you would’ve seen these signs because it’s not uncommon these days having a teenager that tends to be very introverted and you don’t really know what to do or say from the parents perspective because you think they’re just online and they’re just talking with their friends or whatever you don’t really ever in 1 million years think your kid is gonna be the next school shooter🤯 I can almost promise you every parent of every school shooter never saw their kid in this particular way I mean until after the fact, and they have no other choice but to face it for what it is and it’s 💔 heartbreaking I mean, now looking hindsight obviously any parent is gonna see signs that they probably just never saw at the time and if any parent can sit here and act like they know their Kid inside out going through their teenage years I personally believe they’re full of shit I raised two of my own, and I was really close with both of them because I’m young and it still doesn’t matter. Parents are viewed on a different level. Don’t matter how close you think you are with your kid they’re always gonna be different around you, mainly because I don’t want to disappoint you or to avoid conflict or ultimately they just don’t feel like the age gap. Usually you have with your child is enough for them to reach out and think you’ll understand how they feel so they just don’t reach out at all until it’s too late, and just snap and I think Ethan is a perfect example of that in a sense…. I even felt like I heard George Carlin a little bit when he was talking like the way he viewed things in the government etc. maybe I’m wrong but George felt like our society government etc. was tilted from the get-go except I guess Carlin decided to make stand-up out of his views where this child unfortunately decided to kill people everybody’s different and what levels/ extremes they’ll take you can’t predict crazy sometimes

Internet. You don’t pick up these kind of views from nothing. It’s apparent the way that he speaks and views the world that Ethan spent many many hours online researching and researching and this is what he came up with. when you look around the world and you see a lot of the negativity that goes on. What do you expect? This is the product of it

He did not have a happy, caring home environment. No encouragement. His parents failed in getting him the love and help he craved. And in the end his pos mother in her hindsight said she wouldn't have done anything different. I think parents secretly wanted him to commit suicide. They were emotionally abusive, at minimum negligent

This is too sad. Here is a hopeless feeling fifteen year old, like too many other kids today, who don't feel emotionally connected or can't find a path forward from childhood to manhood . There are too few mentors today for kids. Who knows what this kid might've been if he had had positive adults to help him. I hope parents see this and take raising our kids, the next generation seriously. Parents please love and pay attention to the needs of your kids. It's the most important job you will ever have.

This kid killed innocent people, just so his voice could be heard.... Absolute disgusting excuse of a human being. How can people show sympathy for this type of shit? Do people not understand that this was methodically planned out and he wasn't going to just stop there. He's getting the punishment he deserves, and may justice be brought to all the poor families that had to suffer through this horrific tragedy. 💔

I actually agree with him to some extent. This planet is Hell, for lack of a better word. This is the Pain Planet, so to speak, and this is where we come to learn lessons before we move on to a higher place, because we only learn through pain.
He is right that his generation is pretty much f*cked...we've completely screwed them over. Most of them won't even be able to afford to buy a home. Action is needed NOW. Just not the action that he took. That won't change anything except bring more suffering.

  • @user-nh8yu2mw2i

Well, he is definitely delusional, and I hear so much sadness and negativity over what he sees as his future life, willing to end up in jail forever, no feeling or remorse for the people who were about to lose their lives, and clearly feeling that he was about to let his parents down badly, saying that he was ruining his life, but not theirs. That is what is ironic. I think after hearing this we should all realise that he did hide it from his parents all along, and therefore maybe we should not be blaming them for not realising what he was going through. I dont particularly like his mother, havent seen his father on the stand yet, but that shouldnt stop me from feeling that there but for the grace of God go I as a parent of a sensitive and nihilistic son myself. The only difference is that my boy only hurt himself, and this is probably what the young shooter should have done. I wonder how he feels about his world nowadays, locked up forever with lots of time to think about it all....My deepest Condolences to all of the innocent people affected by his horrendous crimes....
