Here we have our Old, ancient Armor before Dragon ball

Another interesting bit of detail I've noticed is that saiyan armor colors kinda shows their rank.
Raditz's being black and brown/bronze shows that he's a low - mid class being ranked a saiyan soldier.
Nappa's being gold and blue/black shows he's a mid - elite class being ranked a saiyan commander.
Vegeta's being gold and white shows that he's a royal super elite class being ranked a saiyan prince.
Vegeta having brighter nicer armor makes him stand out more looking unique with the gloves and shoes which Raditz and Nappa don't have.
King Vegeta himself had red and white armor so at the time those are the colors he chose for royalty.
The armor we see everyone else wear is either their choice or the highest ranks choice like what Vegeta chose Nappa and Raditz to wear so their ranks wont be confusing.

My own head cannon but I think (theorize) the armor behaves like ooblek (the liquid/solid) in the way it can stretch and mold when moved "gently" to an extent. But when hit with Ki or a fast punch it solidifies (within X) to protect the wearer. Hence why it can stretch and mold, yet is shown shattered and cracked after fighting POWERFUL opponents.... *cough* Vegita after Freezas gut punch *cough*

Also, people IRL are actually researching how to make similar fluid armor.
This would also explain why the stronger fighters tend to wear less armor. They are moving faster and therefore would feel more resistance from the armor.

no it's because the Saiyan armor was actually really heavy during that time, King Kai explained that to Goku when he was dead and training on his planet. He said the Saiyans' home planet Vegeta had gravity 10x that of earth's and that Saiyans wear very heavy battle armor when they fight, so they are really well prepared compared to Goku. It's an episode from the Saiyan saga when Goku was still getting used to the gravity on King Kai's planet. Saiyan armor didn't become lightweight until Bulma made her own version of it for Vegeta and the rest of the squad during the Cell saga.

Hey man great video but you're actually wrong about the Saiyan armor being super light. Yes it is stretchable but in an episode of the Saiyan saga when Goku was training on King Kai's planet, King Kai explained to him that training under his planet's heavier gravity would benefit Goku because the Saiyans' home planet Vegeta had gravity 10x that of Earth's, and then he explained that Saiyan armor is very heavy so the Saiyans are well prepared compared to a Saiyan from earth because of their gravity and fighting with weighted armor. The Saiyan armor did not become extremely light weight until Bulma reinvented the Saiyan armor into her own modern version during the Android saga for Vegeta and later the rest of the Saiyans after they trained in the hyperbolic time chamber. But still great video man and thanks! Just wanted to shed light on that part.

Personally my favorite armor is bardocks armor it just looks amazing, and it’s a combination of vegetas old and new armor (new without shoulder pads,)(old the pads that hang down over the waist)

The first two Saiyan Armors that Vegeta wore looks the best. The one he wore on earth when he came with Nappa and for his early time on Namek. The others he wore later on didn’t look as good.
What about the bulma armor it an anniversary gift to vegeta and it has whis signature on it that stands for angels and the armor vegeta wearing is the current strongest armor even stronger then the freiza new battle armor

I thought the armor Vegeta had on namek was newer and better than what he gave Gohan and Krillin. I think this may be a difference between the manga and anime? Anybody else notice this??

They dont wear that full body armor anymore because it just doesnt make sense to wear it , due to the enemys of Super being in a whole other level than Z and being able to destroy the armor without any kind of effort

7:00 don’t gotta be so literal dude. I’ve worn full saiyan armor for cosplay reasons before, and the ones I had felt so light that it didn’t feel like it was there. Although, just cause it felt like that (felt like a T-shirt) doesn’t cancel out the fact that there were these big ass pauldrons on my shoulders.

Did not see the movie, but if based on DBS, it is Bulma who made the new armor for Vegeta (the one with gray undergarments), not Whis, and he wore it during the trip to Beerus' planet. It is Goku's new training gi that came from Whis.
Speaking of which, Whis did comment that he was planning to give Vegeta a matching set of outfit (like Goku's maybe, kami forbid -_-''') but already has one as a gift from his loving wife. XD
