    Today we are making syndet bars to see what the fuss is all about. I mean, I get what the fuss is all about, but this is a nice way to round out the shampoo series.
    Syndet bars are synthetic detergents that perform much like you would expect liquid shampoos to perform, which makes it great for all hair types. Watch the video to see what they don’t tell you about syndet bars, as well as how to formulate your recipes.

    I loved seeing your sweet kiddos! 💜 My girls, 6 and 9 watched with me, and were so excited to see them. They have heard me binge watching your channel for a week now (thank you for AALLLL the content) and they were so excited to see you had kids close to their age. So fun!

    Regarding pH, you can easily adjust it in your syndet bar, so you can make it to 5,5. You cannot make that in a CP soap. But I love bar soaps for my body though. ☺️

    I used to use Castile Soap on my hair after developing neurological issues from regular shampoos. It was ok. It was better than suffering through negative symptoms. It's actually what led me to became a soap maker. Once I started to investigate the synthetic detergents that were on the market, I was quickly able to delete the ones that would be or could potentially be problematic. It was a little more challenging to find the safe ones. I am a wash it and wear it type of person, but even so, I wasn't completely satisfied with my haircare routine. My hair grows fast, so I would cut it off about every 18 months because I got tired of managing long hair that was course. Once I formulated my syndet recipe bar and then made a couple of tweeks, it literally changed my hair. I went from two washes a week, to one. My hair is thick, soft, and easy to manage. I just added a conditioning bar, and WOW!

      Oh! I wanted to tell you...If you melt the SCI, and mix your ingredients, it can be poured into a soap loaf mold and cut. So much easier than pressing them!

    I have made and used both hot process soap shampoo and syndet shampoo bars. My long, fine textured and color treated hair responds better to the syndet. My husband’s short thick hair is great with either one.

    Thank you so much for pointing out the ph thing, personally I thought it was a rediculess argument as the places people use soap most aggressively are the areas where the sun don't shine, they also happen to be the places that house the most hair aside from the head, atleast for us guys. So it didn't make sense that I couldn't make a soap that wasn't good on my hair. And I also didn't know these where called syndet bars, I just saw them as shampoo bars, I have thin hair and it's absolutely necessary for me to go the all natural route as it's the only thing keeping my hair reasonably in tact. Anyway keep up your excellent work, I just launched my company, I dont use any of your recipes directly , but I appreciate your information and use as much as I can. Thanks a bundle!

    Personally I find a syndet shampoo really drying for both my scalp and my hair. My hair feels like straw after a few washes. I much prefer my cp shampoo which I've totally formulated myself with some pretty awesome ingredients. My hair and scalp are in love with it!! Thanks for sharing your process though! 💞

    I just recently tried a shampoo syndet bar and was shocked when my hair did NOT fall out. Usually no matter what shampoo I seem to use my hair comes out in handfuls when I wash it. I tested the soap each time I washed my hair using different timings eg 2 days then 4 days then over a week between washes and happy to say maximum hair fall out seems to be average of 3 strands and now i see my hair growing back! So if its the same as the liquid why doesn't my hair fall out

    • @MrsSoapAndClay
      @MrsSoapAndClay  Před 3 lety +2

      It’s not the same as liquid shampoo - except that it’s a synthetic. You may very well have a reaction to some common ingredient found in most liquid shampoos!

    • @doublybubblysoap9734
      @doublybubblysoap9734 Před 2 lety +1

      Taken from: www.differencebetween.com/difference-between-cetyl-alcohol-and-cetearyl-alcohol/
      The key difference between cetyl alcohol and cetearyl alcohol is that cetyl alcohol is a single chemical compound, whereas cetearyl alcohol is a mixture of chemical compounds. Cetyl alcohol is useful in the cosmetic industry as an opacifier in shampoos, as an emollient, emulsifier or thickening agent in skin creams and lotions. Cetearyl alcohol is important as an emulsion stabilizer, opacifying agent, and a foam boosting surfactant.
