While it may seem quite basic, lacing up your boots can be tough. Nicks Boots are built in Spokane, WA from the heaviest materials on the market. This extra durability can be a bit stiffer at first, namely in the tongue and leather that wraps around the leg. Because the work boots take time to break in, proper lacing is important to the process. Excess creases, folds, and bumps can make this process more challenging. Follow the steps in this informative video to lace up with ease. As always, if you have additional questions, check out our FAQs below!

Thank-you, for this video. I tell people this all the time when they complain about how one boot has a bad fit or is made incorrectly..
When you lace your footwear, you lace your boot in mirror images of each other. Most people dismiss it because they have never heard of this before. It really makes a world of difference.

Thanks for the video! I have also heard of the 2-1-3 method lacing pattern for where it pivots if there's pressure and that has helped me a bit. On 6" boots, my leather laces have a lot of extra length after finishing the last hooks, so I tend to wrap it around the uppers of the boot and then tie it again. I'm unsure what the top eyelets are for since I never see folks use them.

That top eyelet is for a "logger knot". After the last hook, pass a bight through the eyelet from the inside forming a loop. Pass the end of the lace through the loop and cinch down.
I don't know wHat actual good it does, but that's what it is for

anyway you can make a video on the where to source last with the steel plates, and what nails to use that will clinch into the leather?

VERY helpful video! I have one Q though; why is it that socks "stick" to the interior of the boot? I received my new boots today, and in putting them on, I essentially strangled my feet because my socks did not want to slide into the boots. What am I doing incorrectly?

For a loggers knot. That's what its for but I don't know what good it does

If you can't lace both laces with one hand at the same time you can't call yourself a logger.
    Just saying!

Exactly. Those are not just “hooks” they are “speedlacers” for fast lacing. If they can’t show you how to speedlace a boot then they shouldn’t be doing a video of “lacing”. I understand if that is for the initial lace but then go back and show how to lace both sides at one time. I also dislike leather laces for the reasons he talked about but did not acknowledge. The twist awfully and they stretch creating a need to adjust boots two or three times. Leather laces also tend to wear and break at speedlacers due to sharper edges of the metal
