- My other passion, I brought this video from an old channel of mine and added a little info.
The Kolb Firefly Ultralight weighs less than 254lb lbs and is like flying a dirt bike.

Great video and nice you have a ballistic parachute .... just in case you ever need it ! I've heard many say too much weight and I've never had any problems. Oh well to each his own I would rather have it and not need it then need it and not have it.
The weight of parachute doesn’t count against weight limit of the aircraft.
informative walk around and great views!
Love it. That song is great too
Thanks bro :)
Great vid 👍
Thank you sir!
Real cool.!
Been looking at the firefly for months now. Its time to buy one..
And please tell me the artist of that music...
I want to hear the details on the .30 cal bullet hole. Really.
When I called it in to the sherif’s deputy he said it’s not even the first time it’s happened in that area.
Wings are a big target i guess. I wonder how much fun it would be when the guy in the airplane started returning fire. 😁
Dig the music too...
Seeing your legs in that high altitude view really looks sketchy lol
It was so cold it was unbelievable. I did make it to 10k feet a week or two later. It was July in Texas and I was wearing pants, parka, gloves, hat. The other dudes at the airport got a kick out of it. The part I left out is that I only had enough to climb up haha.
@@dadmobile960 Noob question!
What's the temperature at 10K and how that affects engine, aerodynamics at that height?
@@learndesignwithdev it was probably in the 40s-50s. The Kolb with the 447 had no problems climbing that high either. It feels pretty sketchy up that high though, it felt like I was above the horizon in my little plane.
Where can these be bought? The Kolb website doesn't have a sales page
You would have to call them directly if you wanted one new. They can be found used in good shape for 7kish
@@dadmobile960 it's pretty cool you can get up in the air for that price range. Are there any upgrades that could be done for a bigger fuel tank to travel further
@@a-carpenter9229 I always kept mine within the FAA Part 103 guidelines. As long as your buzzing around rural areas nobody will care.
So how do you hanger this thing?
Hangared at grass strip.
Музяка.........
That foot wear isn't a good idea.
Some might say flying Ultralights isn’t a good idea either!
