I think he was bad, but people definitely exaggerate it. . Firstly people say he refused Sue's deal that if he would get his kids to stop twerking that she would install a trans bathroom for Unique. He didn't. He *initially* refused it and had a meltdown, but he then went back and accepted the deal pretty soon after. Also people act like Sue was being the sane one in that situation, when she was the one refusing to install the bathroom in the first place. She was the one who put the dilemma Will was up against there in the first place. Even if Schue hadn't accepted the deal, Sue would still be at greater fault as she is the one with more power who is refusing to help. . Secondly people say that he had no adult friends. I can understand why his closeness with the Glee kids would concern some people, but saying he had absolutely no adult friends throughout the show is plain wrong. Terri, Emma, Ken, Howard, April, Holly, Sue (they have a rivalry but are pretty clearly shown to be friends underneath it all) and Beiste are all adults he has been shown to have close relationships with. Emma, April, Holly, Sue and Beiste especially since his friendships (marriage in regard to Emma) with them are consistent and still exist after the show's end. Rather than say "All Will's friends are children" say "Will is friends with children". The former is incorrect, the latter may be a valid argument. . Thirdly a lot of people say Sue was a better teacher or person than Schue. She literally got Britanny to falsely accuse Beiste of child molestation, tried to fire Britanny out of a cannon, drugged and violated Figgins, physically abuses the kids at school, set hounds on kids at one point, locked fat kids in cages and made them dress as pigs, threw a woman down some stairs, exposed Quinn's pregnancy to the entire school without her consent, took advantage of Beiste's insecurities of her looks to try and manipulate her into quitting her job (honestly I don't see how people can like her after she did that but whatever, everyone is entitled to their opinions), incriminated Figgins to get him sacked and legit hired a child (Becky) to be her secretary. She is way worse than he ever was . Fourthly, a lot of people got angry at Schue for being mad at Finn for kissing Emma. But honestly who wouldn't? Schue's wedding had just been cancelled because Emma was too nervous to go through with it, and then Schue finds out it's Finn's fault because he stressed her out by kissing her. If someone kissed your fiancé on the day before your wedding, would you forgive them easily? . Also another thing is Blurred Lines. While the performance of the song itself is really weird, the song choice in itself is not problematic. Yes the song is about rape but it's pretty clearly conveyed that Will thinks it's about twerking. He says this to the Glee kids before the performance, Artie tries to correct him but Schue doesn't hear him. He says that the song is by *Alan* Thicke in oppose to *Robin* Thicke. The whole point of the Blurred Lines part is that Schue honestly doesn't think this song is about rape. Sue tells him after the performance that it's about rape and Schue laughs and insists that it isn't. . Lastly a lot of people like Sue's friendship with Becky. Which is fine. But a lot of these people.. Then complain that Will is friends with the Glee kids. Um no. You can't have it both ways. Either both adults are wrong to befriend children in their workplaces, or neither of them are.
