    Great video. I‘m picking up my new 1200 GT Pro tomorrow!!!!, and even at 6‘2“ tall I felt it was a better option than the Rally Pro. I won‘t be going off road, so I had already concluded the GT model would be the best bike for me. Thanks for confirming my hunch.

    Hey what a great indepth video loved it looking to get the tiger rally pro myself next year but i have just found out that there is now a preload button for low speed stuff under 52mph that you can do to drop the bike up to 1 inch depending on weight of rider so i defo think that is a great thing for Triumph to do after the launch of the bike to still upgrade and help with moving the beast about

    I have the Rally Pro, see on my channel. I bought the lower seat and I’m 6’2 inside leg 32 inch but prefer it. Still super comfy. Screen I don’t have issues two finger adjust maybe it eases over time. Very comfy bike for long tours. I have the green bike and have powder coated my engine bars and bash plate too

    Great review. I went with the GT Pro also for the seat height reason.
    Sure, I am losing out on some offroad fun but I am riding on-road 90% of the time and not financially well off enough to take such an expensive bike offroad often anyways...for light trails and B-roads, the GT does well too. Even with the Rally, taking a 250kg bike on a serious offroad track sounds silly.

      @John_Neves  Před rokem +1

      Hi there 🖐
      Totally agree with you. Taking such an expensive bike on trails seems overkill to me also, that's why i still ride my TT600 😁
      But this Tiger is truly a fantastic bike.
      As an owner, was there anything i said you wouldn't agree with?

      @@John_Neves Not at all! I think your philosophy of choosing bikes has a lot in common with mine. I also would only buy bikes I can confidently flat foot on both sides.
      If I must nitpick, then I would give the front suspension 3.5 or 4 stars instead of 5. They are not bad by themselves but lacking some features that competitors do. BMW GS has natural anti-dive thanks to the telelever design and comes standard with a steering dampener. That is why that bike is so solid at high speed and under hard breaking. KTM 1290 SA has anti-dive despite only featuring upside-down suspension. The Tiger has none of these things and it's worse when paired with the extremely potent Brembo Stylema calipers. I have nothing against these semiactive Showa tubes - just wish they would dive less in Road mode.

    • @John_Neves

      @@LinhNguyen-im4uu that's quite an interesting take on the suspension 🤔
      I guess, if you don't have it, you'll never miss it right? 😁
      I'm going to test-ride a GS eventually, so now you've made me curious 😁
      Why did you go for the Tiger over the GS?

    • @LinhNguyen-im4uu

      @@John_Neves 2 things for me: the Tiger is much cheaper than the GS where I live (a supply/demand situation) and I like Triumph in general (was upgrading from a T100).

    I ended up going with the Tiger 1200 GT Explorer myself and love it for the most part. 😅 the Rally Explorer would e been nice but I couldn’t with how tall it is. As is GT Explorer I only have a single foot down at a stop which is new for me coming from cruisers.

      @@John_Neves I have seen almost all the reviews available for these kind of bikes and I found professional reviews and lazy reviews (a guy on a motorcycle with a headset talking for 30 min) all over CZcams. Your reviews are excellent, accurate, scientific and impartial as a true review is supposed to be. I'm amazed you don't get more followers or that you don't have more views since the quality and structure of your review is simply flawless and other reviewers should see what you are doing and copy it. Handling wise. Its understandable that a slightly bigger front wheel wouldnt effect handling that much. The difference would be so marginal, its a better argument to say a bigger wheel is going to provide you more mileage out of a tire. Which would actually be entirely true in the case of a guy getting this bike for riding and touring and not pretending its a sport bike. Bigger diameter = more tire = the thing lasting longer.

  • @thatchh1

    Did you ever try the GT Pro or Explorer? I don't see a test video in the list. That might have met your height requirements. I got the GT Exp which suits my riding style (mostly on-road).

  • @sid2vid

    Tiger 1200 RP owner here. The screen moves easily if you push the handle forward while you move it up and down. My only complaint with the bike so far is the weight when I’m shoving it around. The weight disappears when it’s moving.

    • @John_Neves
      @John_Neves  Před rokem

      Nice. I knew i had to be something wrong 🤣🤣
      If i may ask, why did you choose this bike over the competition?

    • @sid2vid
      @sid2vid Před rokem +1

      Sure. A few reasons. My wife had previously bought a Tiger 900 and I have been really impressed with that bike so I basically bought it’s bigger brother. Triumph’s fit and finish felt higher quality to me than most other brands offerings. It just looks special. I like that it is narrower and lighter than the GS. It is tall but at 5’11” I have no problem flat footing it. While I think the GS is a better looking bike overall I like that in side profile the Tiger 1200 RP looks like a crazy giant dirt bike. I also like that I don’t see one on every street corner like the GS. The lack of wind buffeting is a dream. The motor pulls hard and sounds like a muscle car. The pro reviews won me over with the way they gushed over the confidence inspiring suspension feel off-road. It feels light when it’s moving and I’d dare to say it is easier to maneuver in tight places than my wife’s Tiger 900. The low maintenance shaft drive is a bonus. What else? It is loaded with features you have to pay extra for on other bikes. I had it narrowed down to the BMW 1250 GS, KTM 1290 R and Tiger 1200 RP. In the end I decided the Tiger sat nicely in-between the 1250 GS’s on road refinement & 1290 R’s off-road focused edge. I don’t think you can lose with any of them.

    • @John_Neves
      @John_Neves  Před rokem +1

      @sid2vid Wow!
      That's a great description! Thanks for that 👍
      I wouldn't mind going that exact route for me and my wife. Let's see what we decide 👍
      Only thing I'm not too keen on is the looks...
      I'm more a Desertx or a Guzzi 855 type of guy... 😁
      Take care. Happy riding to you both 👍

    • @sid2vid
      @sid2vid Před rokem

      @@John_Neves Same here about the looks. The face of the Tiger is awkward. It’s not the most attractive bike. We have a three Ducatis in the garage already though and one of them is a Desert Sled. The Desert X has a lot of people complaining about wind buffeting and how loud it is on the hwy. These are our touring bikes so comfort won over looks this time. I may end up with a DX later. Good luck.

    Hi @John_Neves thank you very much for the awesome content great stuff and honest review as expected Kudos for you Sir 👏I'm almost sure you already adquired your new 2 wheeled companion by now but from what I've been able to gather up as to what you're looking for in a motorcycle in my personal opinion I'd recommend giving the HONDA TRANSALP XL750 a go I think it would tick all your boxes and for the price this machine comes really well equipped and great value for money IMO. The engine is a parallel twin always urgent and willing. There’s enough grunt to launch you out of corners low in the revs, but you can also keep the engine on the boil for maximum thrust and aural excitement.
    This thing is exciting but it’s also as friendly as they come and everything from the throttle to the slip-and-assist clutch and gearbox is light and precise I dare you to try it out when you can and maybe even do a review about it why not. I'd very much would like to know you're personal experience with this under the radar gem not enough people seem to be talking about. Best of luck with everything in your life.

      @@John_Neves Well it sucks that's why you had to stop, but better than the dark thoughts I was wondering. You know with motorcycles it's not the safest way to get around.
      I'm in a similar situation and will have about a 10k budget soon for my first big bike. So I found your channel really informative for a lot of the bikes I was looking at.
      Got an XSR 125 - got a full license, did on F850 GS, so want something like it... But with more style lol. The 850GS is very fictional, but it got a face only a mother could love lol.
