Yeah, they really have done well with the quality of squires these days.

Totally love this guitar, but I think the pickups could be better. After a year of playing with this beauty, I still love it. But I need more twang and headroom on the pickups.

    1. How does it feel to play, does it feel like a Fender?
    2. How much did you pay for it?
    3. What is your honest opinion, long term review?
    4. Any QC issues?
    5. Why did you change the pickups? Because the originals sucked?
    6. What about the wiring? Why did you change the wiring? Because it felt cheap?
    7. Is it like a Fender?
    8. How do you like the tremolo system?
    9. This or the Cort X500 Menace?

      1. Yes, really does. The neck for me is above which I would expect at this price point.
      2. 439 USD (converted from 583 SGD 1.5 years ago) was discounted as it seems the demand had dropped and fender was overstocked from what I had heard.
      3. I love the look and feel. I will be keeping it.....
      4. No QC issues at all.
      5. Stock pickups were ok actually but a little thinner. I bought the guitar because I had pickups sitting around I wanted to try and hear squiers were high quality.
      6. Because I just wanted that extra tone and was upgrading the pickups.
      7. Totally is.
      8. Tremolo I am not such a fan of and dont really use. It feels cheap and not very smooth but I dont really use tremolo so much on a fender so not so fussed.
      9. Depends on the music you are playing. Metal for the cort, blues rock jazz for the squier. I haven't played that cort but the corts I have played have been good quality for their price point.

@@dartagnansweeney Thank you for your detailed reply. Thanks for taking the time out of your busy day to reply. In India, these guitars are over priced. Once the price becomes favorable I may pull the trigger on it depending on my financial situation as well. Thank you.

how are the pickups compared to the tonerider ones if you know?

    • @dartagnansweeney
      @dartagnansweeney  Před 8 měsíci +1

The original pickups were ok although thin for my liking but actually me intent was always to switch them out anyway. The ones in the clip are golden age that are from stew mac. I also upgraded the wiring to a premium 920D kit.
