Thank you so much! With your easy to follow video, I was able to change the belt on my husband's x350. Of course it took me longer than your video but he's out there mowing our 1.5 acres. He would have done it himself but his health and mobility are not what they were. He loves riding his mower!

FYI - you do not need to remove the spindle guard completely; just loosen both nuts until you can tip the guard back far enough to get the belt through.

Well done and very helpful....inherited '19 350 with only 45 hours...but belt has a couple cracks and will probably change it. I plan to order my parts (belt and filters) from SunSouth rather my local (used to be 5 minutes, but closed shop and now 30 minutes away) dealer. Although I live "way up north" in Chicago boonies, I'm ordering from you due to your "helpful" nature.
I recently stopped at the local dealer and none of the three guys at counter appeared to want offer help....and I was the only customer in the store. Little or no greeting....guy who waited on me acted as if he couldn't care less about my purchase (as if I was a bother.)
Due to your video, I'm ordering from your shop. I know it isn't a big deal, but every little bit helps the bottom line.
    Thanks again, SM

You will need a 13mm socket and wrench. Also a 15mm socket to remove the pully/belt retainer. He does not mention the sizes of tools you need. Great step-by-step on how to do it.

Awesome video. The manual was not very useful for this belt install but this video was very clear. I also greatly appreciate that John Deere engineered the deck and mower with repairs in mind... have you heard the story that some Jaguar's require the engine to be dropped to change a spark plug? Not this system. Keep making videos like this and I will continue to be a loyal Deere customer.

Coming from an owner of the exact same tractor and mowing deck, I have to say that changing the belt is a royal pain in the ass!
Surely the engineer's at JD can come up with a better solution than having to:
    1) completely remove the mowing deck from beneath the machine,
    2) remove two sets of belt guards,
    3) remove a pulley cover guard assembly,
    4) completely remove an entire idler pulley assembly
then turn around andreverse the process to put it all back together.
Ridiculous! Is this the best JD can offer?

Just changed belt and burnt the new one up in about 15 minutes. I did not notice that the belt on the chute side of the tractor had looped to outside of the deck height adjusting bolt. Chewed it to pieces. Double check belt routing from all sides to be safe

Thanks for sharing. I ordered a belt to replace it as preventive maintenance and also replaced the blades to start out the mowing season. I have two sets of blades so I'll take and get the old set sharpened. Thanks again for this video as I forgot how the belt went after I took it off.

I’ve got a seized spindle (the one with the black cover 5mins 42seconds). Thank you for this video Sir. Any tips on unseizing or removing? I’ve mower deck dropped, blade off and at the spindle.

Guard at 3:33 is burning my belt on my x350.... $104 for a new belt tried to 180 the position of the guard since it can only go in two ways because of the notches in the threads of the guard. Looks like the same issue. It looks like its going to rub. Ugh, what gives?

I love my old 2001 LX255- This is a stupid design. Prone to issues ware and problems. Sorry John Deere. New and not improved. What a process! Lots of extra steps and work.

I didn’t even use tools you can fit the belt between those bars they’re payable just put some M.A.N. behind it.
