I concur. Dotun is one of the most emotionally intelligent men around. I'm not sure why some viewers didn't find him good looking but he's very handsome. He has so many layers to him that makes him even more attractive and he balances them all well. Charity looks at him with pride. What a beautiful couple, I'm rooting so hard for them. I have a feeling this is for a long run.

I’m glad he brought up black women being his biggest haters. It is so true and it wasn’t due to editing. It was obvious even before the season started and so weird. Charity and Dotun also got a better edit than she did with Joey. I kept wondering what people were seeing with her and Joey, I saw nothing romantic, just awkward talks. There were some nasty things said about Dotun and a lot of projection on Charity on SM by some BW. I am willing to bet their Joey fantasies are going to blown to pieces when his season starts. LOL
Where? I never saw anything on social media from Black women or in Black women dominated spaces that weren't rooting for Dotun. Everywhere I frequent online was Black women saying, "If it isn't Charity and Dotun in the end, I don't want it!"

@@elizabethabunaw9383 On IG pages, Reddit, CZcams etc.. Saw it often, there were definitely BW who liked Dotun, but Joey seemed to be the more popular choice, so what Dotun said checks out. Dotun gained in popularity in general late in the season, but the most hardcore ‘Jarity’ fans until the end were mainly BW, even after the spoilers were revealed.
@@sharleenmagetto5051 I definitely think he was a plant. There was no way he and Charity were going to be the final couple and both knew it. I don’t dislike Joey for it though, they all played the part they were told to. I think he’s a good choice because women are going to go nuts for him. He will probably be different on his season too, because he might actually be into some of the women and not just playing a role. I think some will turn on him partly because they honestly believe Charity is his type and he was about to purpose to her. If or when that doesn’t happen, they’ll get a reality check.
This is coming from a black woman that was rooting from Dotun from the beginning and while Joey is... something, I rooted for Dotun (with a bit of bias because he is Nigerian, ill admit). With that being said, I don't appreciate his comment singling out black women with him being engaged to one and knowing even his mother in laws reservations. He is obviously bothered by it, and maybe some of it stems from that, coupled with the public. But again, this community has been rooting for black love since the beginning and i'm sure much were rooting for these two as I was. I don't like when "your own people" single you out.
But if you don’t like it, can’t you understand why he didn’t like that some of the hate, as they called it, was coming from the Black community apparently? I’m not sure why and I’d like to understand that - why would that even be the case? But if it is, then it’s gotta hurt and that’s why he’s speaking about it. So it would seem the fans singled him out, not the other way around.

Awww, I have been so supportive and telling all my people about you guys, many are supportive professional women. Its very disheartening that you did not quantify your statement about the negative hate and said "black women" or "your own people. I am positive it is only some, not all, as it was inferred by Doton. Sad and hurtful but I still wish you all much success! Hopefully next time you will say "some" are being negative...or only highlight those of us who are supportive.

I can clearly say that Joey DEFINITELY wasn't a good emotionally intelligent match cuz he's got more learning and growing to do. He was sexual, kissing on her and different for her but i believe long term it would've been a complete disaster. Thank God she chose Dotun unlike poor Michelle choosing playa playa Nate ugh. I get where he’s coming from. I saw black women who would comment things along the lines of “team Joey” on Charity’s IG. Those black women had yt husbands / partners. This is only my assumption from what I saw on IG.
What is Dotun talking about? First, Black women aren't obligated to root for him. Second, Black women fans and Bachelor recappers were all on the "Black love" train. I have not seen one Black blogger, podcaster, or fan say, "it should have been Joey." I'm not saying they don't exist, but they definitely are not the general consensus at all. I find it interesting that Dotun chose to specifically highlight Black women as a source of "hate" when people like Nick Viall were talking shit about him (saying he's not attractive enough). It just seems very off to throw Black women under the bus, particularly on a podcast in mixed company. That ain't a conversation for Kaitlyn.

My point is that it is disingenuous to single out Black women when 1) the sentiment publicly expressed by the overwhelming majority of Black women fans was "Dotun or bust," and 2) for the few Black women who were "Team Joey" there were far more non Black fans who expressed the same. It seems that his expectation was that all of Black Bachelor Nation would automatically root for him to end up with Charity and when a small minority didn't he felt some kind of way.

He did not say have to say "every single Black woman." What I am saying is that it's an odd choice to focus on those Black women as the source of online hate when 1) they were not alone and 2) most Black women were over the moon that they wound up together. He didn't say, "Black women were vocal cheerleaders for the most part, but there was a small contingent that weren't supportive and that surprised me." He didn't insinuate that. You don't need to clean it up for him because he said what he said. I'm just noting the choice for those women to be who he wants to reference when speaking on the Black women fandom. Maybe they just stood out because he didn't expect it. I can see that. But it's definitely not a discussion I'd have in mixed company either.
